I think you're being a bit unfair. I'd argue that no political party 'knows' what they want specifically, but just want to feel like they have someone on their side. Did HRC really offer that to voters? The turnout says no.

And my argument is that there is a core group of people who scream for progressive change, but...

1. Don't vote at midterms.
2. Won't vote to keep liberal policies in place.
3. Have no problem protesting against certain issues, but won't vote against a guy that embodies the physical manifestation of those issues.

It's like they want their cake and to be able to eat it to. They fail to realize that MOST people aren't comfortable with being extreme left.

Counter point? I would argue the Republicans have that same thing in their Camp. I'd figure the US has ~10% of the population holding extreme political views on each side. So that leaves 80% of the population in the moderate range. The Republicans had the exact same problems during 2008-2012. But in this election, they had a candidate who had their back. I'll have to find the link later, as I'm in my phone, but the two largest shifting republican states this year was North Dakota and West Virginia. Neither party put up decent candidates this year, the voting trends tell us that. However you still need a candidate who can represent the people.

btw there is no way Democrats can ever gain a majority in the house. Literally impossible. But yeah, people should vote to keep their senators and local government.

No...

Chris Christie needs to be his Press Secretary. Try to tell me that wouldn't be awesome!

New York Times publisher vows to 'rededicate' paper to reporting honestly

The publisher of The New York Times penned a letter to readers Friday promising that the paper would “reflect” on its coverage of this year’s election while rededicating itself to reporting on “America and the world” honestly.

New York Post columnist and former Times reporter Michael Goodwin wrote, "because it (The Times) demonized Trump from start to finish, it failed to realize he was onto something. And because the paper decided that Trump’s supporters were a rabble of racist rednecks and homophobes, it didn’t have a clue about what was happening in the lives of the Americans who elected the new president.

She compared stories that the paper ran about President-elect Donald Trump and Clinton, where the paper made Clinton look functional and organized and the Trump discombobulated.

Spayd wrote, “Readers are sending letters of complaint at a rapid rate. Here’s one that summed up the feelings succinctly, from Kathleen Casey of Houston: “Now, that the world has been upended and you are all, to a person, in a state of surprise and shock, you may want to consider whether you should change your focus from telling the reader what and how to think, and instead devote yourselves to finding out what the reader (and nonreaders) actually think.”

She wrote about another reader who asked that the paper should focus on the electorate instead of “pushing the limited agenda of your editors.”

“Please come down from your New York City skyscraper and join the rest of us."

Lena Dunham breaks her election promise

Lena Dunham promised she’d move to Canada if Donald Trump became president — but she backed out of the pledge on social media Friday.

But when critics asked on social media when she planned to pack her bags, she copped out Friday.
“For those demanding I move to Canada based on something I said when this man seemed like a steak salesman with a long shot at the presidency: stay busy reveling in your new regime,” she posted on Instagram, along with an image from the Dr. Seuss children’s book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go.“

The shameful display of naked partisanship by the elite media is unlike anything seen in modern America.

The largest broadcast networks — CBS, NBC and ABC — and major newspapers like the New York Times and Washington Post have jettisoned all pretense of fair play. Their fierce determination to keep Trump out of the Oval Office has no precedent.

Indeed, no foreign enemy, no terror group, no native criminal gang suffers the daily beating that Trump does. The mad mullahs of Iran, who call America the Great Satan and vow to wipe Israel off the map, are treated gently by comparison.

By torching its remaining credibility in service of Clinton, the mainstream media’s reputations will likely never recover, nor will the standards. No future producer, editor, reporter or anchor can be expected to meet a test of fairness when that standard has been trashed in such willful and blatant fashion.

Liberal bias in journalism is often baked into the cake. The traditional ethos of comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable leads to demands that government solve every problem. Favoring big government, then, becomes routine among most journalists, especially young ones.

That letter from the publisher was hardly an admission of bias. The likes of Dowd, Krugman and Kristof do nothing but show disdain for anything conservative. I'll believe the NYT is reporting fairly when I see it.

Video of mom punishing son, 8, over school Trump vote leads to investigation

November 12, 2016

A disturbing viral video of a mom kicking her 7-year-old son out of the house for voting for Donald Trump in a mock election at school has prompted Texas authorities to investigate the woman for child abuse.

A disturbing viral video of a mom kicking her 7-year-old son out of the house for voting for Donald Trump in a mock election at school has prompted Texas authorities to investigate the woman for child abuse.

KPRC-TV reported Friday that the woman, who can be heard yelling, even cursing, at the boy who is visibly upset, was interviewed by Fort Bend County’s Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services after she posted the video on her Facebook page.

VIDEO CONTAINS GRAPHIC LANGUAGE

“Since you voted for Trump, you can get your s—t and get out,” the woman is heard saying to the boy as she records the video on a cellphone. As of Friday the video had been shared more than 200,000 times, sparking outrage and demands that she be locked up. “Uh, uh, the suitcase is packed by the door.”

The boy bawls uncontrollably as he’s shown to the door with the suitcase and a handmade sign that says, “My mom kicked me out because I voted for Donald Trump.”

“Bye Donald Trump lover,” she is heard saying.

Later in the video the boy stands on the sidewalk with the signand tells the camera he voted for Trump because saw him a lot on TV.

The station reported that the video, which is nearly five minutes-long, was tough to watch, even tougher to understand. Neighbors who live on the woman’s block in the town of Fresno told the station the video left them angry and appalled.

Detective Joe Luera of the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office told the station that as disturbing as the video is, investigators haven’t found evidence of a crime. He said the investigation was continuing.

Luera told another station, KTRK-TV, that he met the family and saw the boy who appeared to be in good health.

“She explains it was a joke,” he told the station.

She told the station the same thing on the phone.

The station reported that the woman agreed to be interviewed on camera but then changed her mind.

About as proud as you are of the klan marching in the streets.

Oh, you aren't proud of that?

Then please be quiet.

You proud of the blacks beating a white guy because he voted for trump?

If so, say it. If not, say it. And in between, recognize there are extremists everywhere. They are not mainstream Trump supporters, nor are they mainstream trump non supporters.

But dude, bro, "ya'll" got to stop with the generalizations if you can't handle small examples being handed back.

I already been responded to Tulsa posting the video and I said they should get plenty of jail time.

You're late to the party. But of course you gotta put on the cape the moment I start getting st one of your boys on this board.

When you come to save your friends, do you play theme music in the background as well?

Can you explain exactly who "my boys" are? Thanks.

Can you explain "ya'll" to me, when you're talking to one specific poster? That'd be neat.

Or, would you rather I generalize people like you do? Your choice. Run with it.

The post you quoted said nothing about "y'all"

So I dunno if you need glasses or if you're just trying to run your mouth again.

My post was directed at Diam. Take your cape off. You're being pointless again.

Take your Race crap off?

What does even mean?

Every time you feel the need to jump in something that has nothing to do with you, imma call that poster your boy. In this particular case, it was Diam.

Look at that, I've already gone over my allotted time responding to your uselessness.

Have a good night.
