Was going to turn on the Thursday night NFL game, but the TV was set to ESPN when I turned it on and the Houston/Louisville pregame coverage had started. I'm much more interested in how this one plays out than Saints/Panthers.

Houston is playing with them now. Daggers. Fake punts, tip ball td, trick play TD... Patrino looks stunned.

I was right about Clemson being a worse matchup for OSU than Louisville. People on this site and in the country get too mesmerized by star players.

Louisville is ranked high because they killed a bad FSU team and almost beat Clemson who has played everyone close and committed 5 turnovers (and they still couldn't beat them). They got bailed out by the refs vs Duke and Virginia.

This L has to put them out of the top ten.

How do you know you are right? Because of tonight's score? LOL Because of what I just mentioned. They can't protect Lamar and they fumble like crazy. They've also been penalized the 12th most times out of every team in college football. Very undisciplined.

Even though they're losing 9-0, Rutgers is putting a physical beating on Penn St. Hopefully it will affect their game vs. MSU.

I dislike the idea of a 2 loss team that didn't even go to its conference title game, being in the playoff. Even if it was Michigan.
This season is either going set up a blueprint for years to come, or be the year everyone looks back to and says their team should of made it based on what happens..
If we are selecting the 4 beat teams, I think it's easily Bama, Clemson, OSU, and Michigan. Regardless of what happens going forward..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Here's an article about the Jets draft. I don't know who this author is or how much we should value his opinion, but I found it interesting and surprisingly well written. http://nypost.com/2016/11/19/scouting-jets-nfl-draft-options-4-glaring-needs-and-bad-qb-timing/SPORTS Scouting Jetsβ NFL draft options: 4 glaring needs and bad QB timing By Brian Costello November 19, 2016 | 2:08pm NEW YORK JETS The Jetsβ season is over before you even got to taste your Thanksgiving turkey. The good news? They should have a high draft pick in April, which always provides hope and excitement for a franchise. At the moment, the Jets are fifth in the draft order. They have six games to go, so that surely will change, but it would be surprising if the Jets finish outside the top 10. With that in mind, The Post decided to take a look at some directions the Jets may or may not go next spring. We enlisted the help of Dan Shonka, a former scout who is now the general manager of Ourladsβ NFL Scouting and produces one of the best draft guides each year. The Jets basically have needs at every position except defensive line, so we could have gone in many directions. We selected the most important positions on a football team, all Jets needs, to look at along with a few wild cards, who could be targets of the Jets: Quarterback You can debate whether the Jets should even consider drafting a quarterback after taking Christian Hackenberg in the second round of the 2016 draft and Bryce Petty in the fourth round in 2015. The Jets are hoping one emerges to be their franchise quarterback. At the moment, though, both are unknowns. Could the Jets take a quarterback again? Probably not, mainly because the talent at the position is down this year. βThe position is ugly,β Shonka said. βItβs not very good. If you wanted a quarterback, you should have got one last year.β Notre Dameβs Deshone Kizer is the quarterback Shonka expects to go first if the redshirt sophomore declares for the draft. One player who is a fast-riser at the moment and could get the push quarterbacks always do in the draft is North Carolinaβs Mitch Trubisky. βHeβs a super-accurate guy, but heβs a one-year wonder,β Shonka said. βThis is his first year playing. It makes you wonder if he is that good, how come he didnβt beat out Marquise Williams last year? The kid has got some talent.β Clemsonβs DeShaun Watson, who had a lot of preseason publicity, has had an inconsistent season, and Shonka said he believes Watson will slide into the second round. Left tackle The Jets did not have to worry about this position for years with DβBrickashaw Ferguson as reliable as rush-hour traffic. They plugged the spot this year with Ryan Clady, but he almost certainly is going to be a cap casualty with his $10.5 million cap number in 2017. Alabamaβs Cam Robinson is considered by most to be the top tackle in this draft, but Shonka has concerns. βPeople that study him donβt like him as much as all the hype,β he said. βHe looks good on the hoof and everything, but Iβll tell you the guy is on the ground all the time. That is not good. Heβs got athletic ability. I donβt know if heβs top-heavy or what, but the guy is on the ground. I looked at their most recent game and was really stunned.β Shonkaβs pick as the top tackle is Wisconsinβs Ryan Ramczyk, but he is not sure the junior will leave school. Ramczyk started his career at a Division III school, but transferred to Wisconsin, where he sat out a year. At 6-foot-6, 320 pounds, he looks the part. βThis is his first year playing, and Iβll tell you what, I would take him over any of these guys,β Shonka said. Edge rusher Every year we talk about the Jets drafting a pass rusher. Every year, they pass. Letβs start talking again. Myles Garrett out of Texas A&M has 26.5 career sacks and is considered the best overall player in this draft. βHeβs a natural,β Shonka said. βHe can rush the passer. He can bend the edge. Heβs been nicked up this year. When heβs in there, you canβt block him. Heβs a terrific pass rusher. To be honest with you, I donβt think heβll get out of the top three picks unless he doesnβt pass the physical or something. βHeβd be perfect for the Jets. Heβs what youβre looking for. Heβd be a guy Mike would love to have on the defense.β There are two outside linebackers from Alabama who will be popular picks, too. Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson are both stars on Nick Sabanβs defense. Most view Williams over Anderson, but Shonka has Anderson rated higher right now. Cornerback You may have heard that Darrelle Revis is in decline. The Jets drafted Juston Burris in the fourth round in 2016, but he has played sparingly. They have a lot of questions at the position. βI think thatβs where the Jets may end up going because of where theyβre picking and whoβs going to be there,β Shonka said. βI think thereβs depth there. They might get one of these guys by trading down to get picks and get somebody else.β Shonka said he likes Desmond King out of Iowa the best out of the corners. βHeβs going to go as high as they time in the 40,β Shonka said. βIf he runs 4.4, heβs going to be a top-10 pick. If he runs 4.5-something, heβs going to slide down to the 20s. Heβs got good ball skills. Heβs tough. Heβs the best tackling corner.β Redshirt sophomores Marshon Lattimore from Ohio State and Marlon Humphrey from Alabama could be the top corners taken if they enter the draft. Wild cards Two big names to keep an eye on are LSU running back Leonard Fournette and Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers. They donβt fit the Jetsβ biggest needs, but they might be too good to pass up on. Fournette has been making highlights for three years. βHeβs going to get a little help from [Ezekiel] Elliott, but heβs not Elliott,β Shonka said. Shonka said the Jets would be better off taking a running back in a later round if they really want one. Peppers might be the best athlete in this draft, but NFL teams are going to have to figure out where to play him. Michigan moves him all over the place. βHe is a terrific athlete,β Shonka said. βWhether he plays strong safety or the hybrid, heβs got excellent value as a return guy. I may miss my guess, but heβs a definite top-10 and maybe a top-five pick.β The Jets took Darron Lee in 2016, believing he could be a hybrid linebacker/defensive back. Would they take another one? Peppers might be too good to pass up. The draft talk is just beginning. Get ready Jets fans, you have five months of debating whom they should take coming up.
Is buttcheeks one word? Or should I spread them apart?

so, the in reality, with #2 OSU and #3 Mich playing, even if OSU loses, shouldn't they just swap places? the precedent being the lack of a drop that Clemson did and now with Oaklahoma in the top 10 again, our schedule strength is pretty darn good?

If we are selecting the 4 beat teams, I think it's easily Bama, Clemson, OSU, and Michigan. Regardless of what happens going forward.. I agree with you but the Big10 has to fall the right way in the final 2 weeks for it to happen. If PSU ends up in the championship game there is really NO WAY you can take both OSU and Michigan ahead of them because either OSU or Michigan will have 2 losses, OSU lost to PSU.. and neither will have even played for the conference championship. If I was PSU and got to the conference championship game and they took BOTH OSU and Michigan over me, I'd riot..... If PSU loses and the OSU/Michigan game is very close and the winner goes on to win the conference championship, then I think it might happen.. would probably be better if it was OSU that did that.. since PSU already beat them.

USC is back.
They finally found a QB and coach. They found one of those two things. (The rumblings about Helton around town were not good early in the season. He also lucked into Darnold after choosing Max Browne over him to start the season.)

Look what happened last year when the "best" B1G teams went to the the Rose Bowl and the playoff last year. MSU vs Alabama - 38-0 Alabama Iowa vs Stanford - 45-16 Stanford I personally think OSU was better than both of those teams, we just lost to MSU, and they got the nod rightfully so. I am still uneasy about our team this year, but I think we are pretty good. If we beat TTUN Saturday I think we get in.

How I see it playing out.
If OSU Wins
They're in. Regardless of who wins the B10.
Michigan could possibly still get in, but would need to lose a close game to OSU, have PSU lose to MSU, and OSU win the B10 in a blowout, and then still would need a lot of other teams to lose/play poorly to get in with 2 losses..
If Michigan Wins
They may be able to get in without winning the B10, but that IMO would be silly.
Overall, I still hate the idea of a team that didn't even play for It's Conference Title being a "lock" to compete for a National Championship..
I think OSU and UM are two of the best 4 teams in the country, I also just feel really weird about considering both of them making it. Especially if PSU goes to the B10 title game..
It's going to be interesting. While itll be a 2nd loss for either, how far can losing to the #2 or #3 team really drop you?
Hopefully the committee doesn't back themselves into a corner, but also hopefully they don't take the easy route.. Not that I know which is which..

It will be interesting. I think Saturdays game is a play in game for the teams.
The Gators and Bama will play for the SEC Championship. I don't expect the Gators to win, but even if they do, Bama will still get the nod for the playoffs....as they should. The SEC east was pretty weak this year.
How cool would it be if the NCAA figured a way to have a 16 team field? Then it would be arguements over who is 16 and 17 rather than leave out teams with a real claim to being in the field. Heck, even 8 teams would include teams with a real claim.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

I'm still trying to figure out how TUN lost to an unranked team and didn't drop out of the top 4, let alone not even a spot, especially this late in the season.
