Full College Football Playoff Rankings
1. Alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Michigan 4. Clemson 5. Washington 6. Wisconsin 7. Penn State 8. Oklahoma 9. Colorado 10. Oklahoma State 11. Louisville 12. USC 13. Auburn 14. Florida State 15. Florida 16. Nebraska 17. Tennessee 18. West Virginia 19. Boise State 20. Houston 21. Western Michigan 22. Utah 23. Washington State 24. Stanford 25. Navy There's potentially a way for the Top 4 teams to only have 2 or even 1 Conference Champion in it.. I hope in the future for a year none of the top 4 teams are conference champions. That'd be hilarious. All it takes is for each Top 4 team to lose one game in their division, to a team that has like 2 or 3 OOC losses..

I think we'll start seeing conferences get rid of their divisions. The Big 12 is getting rid of it. It just makes sense. The SEC should have done it years ago when the East fell completely off. I hope the Big ten does it soon. They have some decent parity. Especially for the future, but it's honestly a lot more fun without it.

Change criteria or tiebreakers you would use to advance to the conference title game. 1. Overall record (not conference record - The NFL does this and everyone is okay with it) 2. CFP ranking or, if you don't like using overall record: 1. Conference record 2. CFP ranking In either of these scenarios, assuming PSU and OSU win this weekend, OSU would advance to the Big10 title game.

Because they're pretty pointless? I mean, do you remember LEADERS and LEGENDS? Their first attempt just showed how much of a joke they are. Might as well just open it up to everyone and let the king of the hill blood bath rage.

It's just weird because right now, in the Big10, the SEC, and the ACC, one division is decidedly better than the other.. And that is, for the most part, about money and maintaining rivalries that have developed through the years.

Just because conferences can go divisionless doesn't mean teams lose their protected rivalry. I mean, what's really the point of divisions besides that the two best teams in a conference won't play each other in a title game for said conference. Honestly, the divisions are so arbitrary that they just based them on geographical locations.

So are we also getting rid of conference title games? Because without divisions, you will see a crap ton of OSU/UM playing in back to back weeks, the first one most likely not even being nessecary.

That's a good point and it's why they probably won't get rid of the divisions.
But, it got me to wondering.........would you rather see Conference Championship games and a 4-team playoff or the team w/the best conference record being the Conference champion and an 8-team playoff?

Wasn't this one of the goals of the leaders and legends? Because you couldn't have OSU and Michigan be on the same side?

I doubt that happens. Those Championship games bring in big dollars to the conference members.
It also keeps more teams in the game.

You also have to consider that those divisions carry over in to other sports as well. This is a football board where most of the focus is tuned, but college presidents and AD's have to view the total picture.

Championship game would still happen. It would only happen between the top 2 teams in a conference however.

actually after digging some more it sounds like Herman still is looking to Austin... But is waiting to see if strong actually gets fired on Friday... If not sounds like he will go to LSU... Report I read is that LSU wants an answer yesterday and Herman preferred to wait until the weekend...
Shod be interesting...

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Sumlin needs to lose his job as well... Wow... yep, not a good night for A/M. They get killed and Herman is not a viable candidate for them.

looks like he's driving his price tag up I wish it wasn't about money. Just stay at Houston and turn them into a team the Big 12 wishes they had added..

He'll never be able to get the recruits to be able to do that. The best they can become is the Boise State of Texas (and even Boise State had their two head coaches leave). Texas and LSU offer Herman money, power, and talent. Houston can't offer those things on the same level.

What's the biggest game of the upcoming college football weekend that involves teams from Ohio and Michigan?
Toledo (9-2) @ #21 Western Michigan (11-0) - Friday the 25th on ESPN2
The Mid-American Conference West Division title is on the line and the winner advances to the MAC championship. Watching this game now, Western Michigan looks pretty good. Wonder how long before Fleck moves up? Didn't know much about him until today while watching the game...

Not saying it's a lock, but if they give him 6-7 million a year, it's a no brainer

Arizona State loses and we have reached 48 bowl-ineligible teams. For the second year in a row, every bowl eligible team will go to a bowl.

I don't know if Texas is such a great fit. They have slipped dramatically in recent years on the recruiting front and they have treated Strong like crap.

Herman to Texas is official. Orgeron is staying at LSU too. Supposedly he thinks he can get Lane Kiffin as his offensive coordinator (Orgeron was Kiffin's assistant at USC).

I kinda like that move by LSU. Orgeron is one the most likable people in the sport. Everyone says he learned from his disastrous time at Mississippi.

Why would Kiffin take a lateral move to stay in the same conference?

Louisiville lost to Kentucky.
Did I read that right, did Louisivlle lose to Kentucky, #11 Louisville,
That would be their 3rd loss.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
