Can anyone explain how the clock does not stop if you get pushed out of bounds? I am watching the Lions game and the receiver catches the ball near the sideline, turns to the sideline, and right before he gets hit, he stops and tightens up, so the hit knocks him out by 1/2 a step - but the clock does not stop...he was not moving downfield but laterally toward the sideline...is that right?

His forward progress was stopped. Out of bounds only stops the clock if the runner is moving forward when he goes out.

His forward progress was stopped. Out of bounds only stops the clock if the runner is moving forward when he goes out. I would have been very interested to see what the official would have done if he went sideways when he went out of bounds as opposed to being driven backwords ... That spot on the Zenner 4th down carry was very bad .... not sure how that didn't get overturned ..

I thought the same thing of the 4th down play...I thought the spot was about back about a foot or so - about the length they missed it by and the Ref had a great view down the line..I didn't see a replay that showed where his knee touched though

I never heard the term "arm talent" until a few years ago, but when I think of arm talent I think of Matt Stafford. I don't think there's a pass he can't throw. Wish he was a Brown.

Indi was great... Peyton went up to my friend Natalie and struck up a 5 min conversation, like he knew her forever.
TY Hilton gave her an autograph which is unusual for him... She got many that day..
My Cousin was Bobby Pickard, played for Canton Central Catholic High school..then Xavier Collage, then Detroit. Wasn't a star, but hey he played some..
As I was 13 at the time he was playing..it was kind of cool to say I had a cousin in the Pro's
We worked out a lot... I miss the practice field days with him.
