I see both Trubisky and Kizer as Tannehill equivalents.
Big armed athletic Qb's with too little experience. Will either develop? I don't know. But to have a chance they will need to go to a place that is willing to be patient with them. Neither is ready to take overan NFL team next year.

Watched this game because Grimm had already watched and commented on his observations.
My quick thoughts from watching:
o easy velocity, doesn't have to 'muscle up' to throw with power (e.g. corner route)
o 1:17 was his best throw of the game for me. He reads through his progression start from left to right and uncorks a sideline comeback/backshoulder throw
o showed some athleticism and willingness to use his legs on few occasions 7:02, 8:00, 1020
o missed throws/inaccurate 2:30. 3:20, 4:15, 5:40, 6:45
o made 3 very poor decisions/ 2 were picked off e.g 6:00, 7:30, 1046 end the game
o has a quick release but not your typical throwing motion, doesn't fully extend his arm his throwing motion reminds me a lot of John Beck/Ryan Tannehill
I've been watching ... he's not #1 worthy, at least at first glance here
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
WOW ..... AWESOME .... thanks so much ... that sites great ... man ... I will be spending some time there ...
Looks like every throw from every game ...
Thanks u so much dude ... Christmas just came early for me ...
You've earned yourself a day with no wrath from me .. *LOL* ..
Thanks again man .. awesome site ... i truely appreciate it ..
Good site Every play a guy is involved in Yes every pass but also every run I get annoyed because I don't care about aQb's run Wish there was an option for only pass plays or only run plays. That would be nice for evaluating defensive players as well.
My other criticism of the site is that they will eventually have multiple games But frequently start with a "stupid" game Example - Davis Webb, the only 2016 game they have is the San Diego State game I don't think games against terrible teams tell you near as much as vs good teams. More will come but it can take awhile.

I don't want to exclude any part but I would like to see the passing 1st and foremost. Then look at the running secondarily. With some Qb's it feels like a 50-50 split. Especially when you also exclude the bubble screens. It takes way more time than needed to evaluate the passing aspect

Agree about the quality of competion Jester ... 100% ... one thing i noticed about Nassib last year was about 90% of his sacks came against Temple, Rutgers the "less talented" D-1 or the D-1AA schools ... none or very few sacks/highlights came against OSU/Mich or the more talented D-1 schools ...
I saw in an earlier post u compared him to Kizer ... physically they may be alot alike .. on this very limited sample .... Kizer is no where's near as accurate or mentally ready ... Kizer locks on to a guy and if he don't get open .. time to run .. he's actually regressed in that area this year ..
If we draft Kizer .. 90% of the board will be calling for his and Hue's head 1/2 through his rookie year if he plays .. Kizer has regressed ...
One of the things i really like about Trubinski ... and its just a "small" thing that most don't care about anymore ...
He follows through with his fakes ... he just doesn't go through the motions like most ... love that attention to detail ... also says he takes well to coaching ...
Speaking of witch ... I believe Cutliffe was the HC who recruited him a nd coached him for 2 or 3 years ... if thats the case .. he got GREAT COACHING .. .
Obviously its a very small sample .. i'm very intrigue with this kid ...
Stepped up in the pocket and delivered a beautiful deep ball right on the $$$$
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

He's not scared to get hit. That's a huge deal to me.
On the 1st or 2nd pass he threw today ... he knew he was getting crushed ... stood there, stepped into the throw ... it was about a 20 yarder to the opposite sideline ...
He stood in there and stepped into it and it had plenty of zip on it .. and he got crushed .. and he saw it coming ...
Dang ... barley missed the 3rd down pass ... still not a bad throw given the circumstances ..
Thought he missed the 4th down throw also ... on the reply the reciever "veered" his route by a step or so and it was thrown to the original spot or that would have been a great touch pass ...
He also throws very well on the run ... and he does it effortlessly ... alot to like here ...
Damm it .. there not going to get the ball back .. ..
I had compered Mitch and Kizer to Tannehill. The similarities:
1, Good size 2, Strong arms 3, Lack of experience 4, Simple offenses (especially UNC's)
3 and 4 tell me that both Trubiski and Kizer will time to develop. Both could benefit from an extra year in college. But not sure how much they would benefit from their current situations. Will Trubisky grow in that UNC offense? Will Kizer keep his starting job all next year? Kelly has been kind of flaky about his qb's the past couple years.

Staying in college another year would only hurt them. It'd be different if they played in a pro style offense. However, a spread teaches them bad habits.
I like Switzer better than Trubisky. Trubisky is not bad though.
He jumped out at me as well. With all the etes that will be watching Trub's tape, this kid won't fall between the cracks.
If he is eligible, he is going to get draft board placement where before he might have been a undrafted FA type. He might see 3rd round placement by several teams wanting a slot player. He has some skills.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

That's where we disagree. It's just a different system. In time the NFL will see the light once you have a large number of teams who don't have a QB. Wait, there are already a lot of NFL teams void a QB.
My thinking is that rules are in place where a QB can give himself up. To me, more QBs are hurt standing in the pocket then are running the ball. You can be smart when running the ball. Take what you can get, then slide.
The spread works at all the other levels. It isn't about size and speed, all is relative. It doesn't work in the Pro's because the Pro's run a watered down, weak sister version.
You can't run it as a "package" of plays. You have to run it.
No doubt you can water down the QB read runs, and you have to have a smart QB who knows when to bail on a play and hit the deck rather than try for the extra 2 yards. Those 2 extra yards are where runners get hurt.
Emmett Smith was as good a back to ever play the game. He knew how to protect himself and give up on a play, to live to kill you on one of the next 2-3 plays.
Smart football IMO.

Once they get beyond the LOS your 100% correct ...
What about behind the LOS when the DT or DE breaks free and DESTROYS the QB behind the line right after he hands it off ...
What about when he makes a bad read behind the LOS and the LBer gets a 5 yard running head start and DESTROYS HIM ...
What about when he has handed it off and plays the fake out and continues to run like he has the ball and the DE/LBer or DT DESTROYS HIM ... what do u think there going to do .. just let him keep going ... not a chance ...
What about when its 3rd and 3 and he can slide and be a yard short or he can clearly make it if he takes the hit ...
It ain't near as simple as u want to make it out to be ... lets take a look at and see what teams have not had their QB's miss a start ...
Buffalo Miami Baltimore Cinci Jax Houston Tenn SD
In the AFC 1/2 of the teams have had there starter miss starts cause of injuries ... that doesn't include the multiple starters we've had here ... RG3 .. Luke .. Cody .. Luke .. Cody and now back to Luke again .. thats 6 different "starters" in 12 games due to injuries ...
Look at NE ... Jimmy .. Brissett .. Jimmy .. then Brady got back but that wasn't injury related ...
I thought Trubisky had an excellent game, was let down by some of his WR play today. He made an absolutely beauty of a throw on the last 4th down, but the WR just flat out dropped it.
I think Trubisky will be a very good...not great player. JMO.
