Woot!, my old hometown.

He better sign that contract, that mortgage payment is due in 30 days.

http://www.morningjournal.com/site/news....46371&rfi=6

AVON LAKE -- Welcome to the neighborhood, Brady Quinn.

The Browns' newly drafted quarterback has purchased a home on Regency Court in Avon Lake's Britannia Estates for $700,000, according to the Lorain County Auditor's Web site.

Quinn's new home contains 10 rooms, including four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, according to the Web site.

The appraised value of the home, which was built in 1989, is $595,800.

All was quiet outside Quinn's new tan brick home yesterday afternoon, and neighbors in the quiet cul-de-sac weren't overwhelmed by the news of a celebrity neighbor in their midst.

One young man simply shrugged when asked about Quinn's moving to the neighborhood and declined to comment further.

Another neighbor, Kurt Thomas, said he had not met Quinn yet.

''Welcome to the neighborhood. We're glad he's here and we wish him a lot of success,'' Thomas said.

Thomas said he hoped Quinn and the Browns had a good season.

''It's a great neighborhood and we wish him a lot of success.''

Drafted in April, Quinn, a Notre Dame graduate, chose 10, the Ôperfect' jersey number, to wear for the Browns because he is a perfectionist. A Dublin native, Quinn grew up as a Browns fan.

A representative from the Cleveland Browns and Quinn's agent, Tom Condon, did not return calls for comment yesterday.

Yeah but she wanted him to use the house as a hideout for when her Bengal players got in trouble with the law.

Borrowed against future earnings probably, which may be why he paid 700 for a 600k house. Maybe have it worked out with the seller that he will pay when he gets his contract.

He may already have some endorsement deals in place. The contract isn't all they make. Just think it might have come from this.

He may, but I'm sure whoever underwrote this loan is well aware that while it may take an extra 30 or 60 days to get him started, he's going to be good for the money soon enough...

It was slightly amusing, but was just so far out in left field, it didn't fit the topic. Had the comments in the topic steered that direction, it would have been more fitting. You just came out of the blue on that one.

This article doesnt mention it but the reason he bought this house is because the browns qb coach lives across the street.

If true, that's kind of creepy........

I would kind of be pissed if i was Rip Scherer(?)

It shows a lot off devotion, but if the coach isn't the one telling him to move there.......that's just over the top

I'm sure he talked about it.

Even if he didn't, it's not like Quinn's gonna be Dennis the Menace.

"Hellooooooooo Mr. Scherer, let's watch some film." at 3 AM on a Tuesday morning.

Football's a job where work for both coaches and players goes FAR beyond the field/practice. Scherer probably welcomes it, so they can get down to the smallest detail possible.

Plus, they could get work done in the comfort of his family, which is big for coaches who spend a lot of time away from home.

The house wasn't 600k. It was 700k. The selling price and the auditor's appraised price are often different. For one, the bank won't let you be that upside down when you buy a house, no matter how rich you are.

Depending how on top of things the auditor is is how often it gets appraised. Sometimes it's triggered by a sale, sometimes by an addition or some other type of structural change.

He'll be paying taxes on a 700k home I bet

In Ohio, the price you pay taxes on ( which is the price listed on the county auditors web site) is based on 80 percent of the homes appraised price.

Borrowed on his name and future earnings. Agents many times loan their clients money to get them in a home or some new wheels.

His parents are another source of a loan. They could have fronted him 70k to make the down payment.

Earlier this year Matt Leinart bought a home in the city where I've lived these past 24 years. Now Quinn buys a place in my home town. Let's all hope Quinn's stay in Avon Lake is longer than Andre Risen's, else that's big trouble.

he is driving a hummer on loan from the company that makes them as he has an endorsement with them ..

he has signed a deal with EAS and a vitamin company .. he also has one with a shoe company .. if anyones interested .. i can go dig up an article PRE DRAFT that lists the endorsements he had signed then ..

he also signed a deal with some site to document the draft experience ..

hes by far the MOST MARKETED player coming into the NFL this year ..

In Avon Lake, most likely the local kids will make there way over for autographs.

I know we did when Joe Charbeneau lived in Avon lake when i was a kid. Had that autograph fro years, think I finally disposed of it a few years ago, it was in rough shape.
