most of the older posters know me i used to post alot until the last site crash. you have to realie at the minute i might spell as bad as Diam. my eyes were dialated.

ok in may i had to have my partical hip converted to a full. then the 2nd of Sept. i had a guy hit my truck as i was turning into a gas station.

first of Noverber i fine out my OA has finally attacked my spine. now if that's not enough about 6 weeks ago i noticed my right eye was getting fuzzy.

now today i find out i have catarcts in both eyes. 2 more surgeries in Dec. i haven't had this many surgeries since 06 when i had 7-8.

You want this over ? Why ? so age can kick your ass even more... Hell nooooo I want this year to last a long time... Except for the Browns year lol !!!

Seems people want the years to fly by because they think it gets better...Only if you love wrinkles and depends...

I would hate to be your insurance agent...

Your lucky to have cataracts in both eyes...You don't have to see the 0-16 Browns...

Look at it this way..if you can only see out of one eye... then this season only looks half as bad...

Nordawg... I was only trying to get a laugh or chuckle out of you... I know things are not that great for you... I Remember when GM was in very bad shape...and he smiled and laughed his way to feeling better..

Turn on some old comedies and laugh.. it might help...we all go through crap... I really hope everything turns out for you... Like I do with the whole human race...

Sounds like you are having a year like I had last year. I have osteo-arthritis in my back, hips, and knees; had 3 blown lumbar discs, scoliosis (curvature of the spine), stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal), which was "fixed" by having spinal fusion (L2-L5) and a laminectomy for the stenosis. Then I had a staph infection in the incision, and had to be opened up again and debrided. Debrided, as far as I can tell, is when they take a cheese grater to the infected area. I was in terrible pain for a week after that. Then I was having really bad swelling of the lower legs and ankles - edema - and needed an outpatient surgical procedure called vein ablation on each leg. Then, when I complained to my spine doc that despite all the rehab I was still having pain when I walked (or tried to walk), he said he suspected I needed both hips replaced. So I go to an orthopedic surgeon and he says yep - both hips are fubar. Righty was first in August, and lefty was in late October. Then my insurance company tells me I used up all my allowable visits for physical therapy, so now I'm paying for it, so I go about half as much as I should have because I'm already on short-term disability getting 2/3's pay, and I'm running out of money (refused to touch my 401K). Then I get a blood clot behind my knee in December, which turned out not to be a big deal, but was scary at the time.

Anyway, you get the idea. The point is, I got through it, and so will you. Just gotta keep on keepin' on. Hang in there, and God bless.

I make fun of my condition all the time you have to laugh and make the best of it or the illness wins, and i don't lose.

Now for GM ask him he wanted to contact me when he had his chemo in sandusky. he didn't want to because of what i was going thru at the time. told him as long as i can drive i would have been there.

Hell i could have made fun of his haircut and he could have said you're shorter than i though[by the way i'm 5'10]after making fun of each other we would have had a really good visit. GM if you read this momma nordawg says if you have to go thru this again and you don't contact me to come up and set with you she will haunt you. Believe me bud you don't want that.

Dave i remember when you you were going thru that. people dom't think OA is that serious. mine attacked my joints. believe me it can be that serious. 3 hip replacements, one knee, one ankle, two thumbs, both shoulders, over 30 surgeries.

why my eyes. i've had 20/20 vision forever. although i did need bifogals to read.

i know it sucks for alot of people. what sucks the worst is the year i had 7-8 surgeries i knew it was going to happen. this year i was good and it all went to hell in 6 months. Now did i know i had OA, yes i did, did i know it attacked my joints, yes i did, but it never touched my spine till this year.

ya know i was a bricklayer[ mostly mason foreman for 35 yrs] i always told the dr i'm a bricklayer if your back doesn't hurt you're not working. well guess what OA has alot more pain than laying brick. and as a foreman i only had to lay when i could. by could i mean i may be building a school with about a 25-30 man crew and if things were going good i would get on the wall.

Yeah, I can't believe I turned 60 this year.

It feels like i went from 40-to-60 in about two years.

I remember reading about the inscription on a gravestone that someone saw. It said:

"As you are now, so was I once.
As I am now, so shall you be."

Sobering as hell. Everybody has to "face the elephant". It's the whole human condition thang.

Relax, have a sandwich.

I had a ham and swiss sammie today for lunch that was glorious, It had butter and yellow mustard on dago bread (I can say that as a half-Italian ... actually, so can anyone else and I won't mind.). I started thinking about it at 10:30 this morning, but held out until noon. It was gone at 12:08 PM. I felt sad that I hadn't made 2. Sandwich was gone, now what? Oh yeah ... work.

I feel for you. I hope that 2017 is as good for you as 2016 was difficult.

OK my first surgery is in 20/20 in the right eye. Same as it was before the surgery. if the left eye is the same. It will be the same as before the surgery. 20/20 both eyes but I need those damn glasses for reading. Well at least I can now see.
