Letting Barron finish out his school year.

You didn't read the rest of my fellow up post where I said I hope she does move after the school year.

But of course, you saw my screen name and got #triggered.

How much is trumps world tour gonna cost.

Like I said before, the moment trump goes on vacation, I'll be waiting for you to blast him, seeing as how you seem to have a problem with obama going on vacations and no one else.

Thanks Swish. ;-)

If he is only finishing the school year, I'm ok with that. If it forever, um, get the kid a nanny or supervisor. The first lady belongs in the White House at her husbands side.

I agree Eve.

Just to be clear, I don't have a problem with it either. Families do that all the time. The guy will post up at his new spot, and the family will follow after the children finish out the school year.

My overall issue is the cost and some other factors.

Barron will need his own detail to go to school. Trump tower is now gonna have to be secured by the secret service. And then of course melania needs her own detail.

Now, does the First Lady and the children typically get their own details? Of course. But securing trump tower is a whole other ball game.

Also, does that mean that his other kids need their own detail as well?

And how much is that gonna cost, knowing that the kids are MOST likely not gonna sacrifice their current lifestyles, as far as travel and such.

The overall issue for me is the problem, securing trump tower is just the symptom.

You might not agree, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

Yeah Swish, but it won't be "14,600,000 every year". It will only be for the next six months. So it should be 7,000,000 as opposed to 58,400,000 over 4 years. That's a big difference.

Everything the POTUS family does is inflated. Does it really cost 2-3 million to take a trip to Europe? Hell no. But for them it does.

It's actually both.

It's 7 Million over 10 years which is 700,000 per year.

I don't care for this deal at all to be honest. I'd have preferred that trump keep his promise to fix NAFTA in a way that makes it not a good deal to relo jobs..

You can't fix this one company at a time.. It's just to big a problem

I think he probably will, but that takes some time.

I agree, but the agents assigned to the First Lady stay with her no matter where she is. The agents assigned to the residence stay there year round. It's not like agents are at the Presidents home only when the President and spouse are there.

The hard part is to initally secure a home/building. Once it is, it isn't that hard to keep it that way. The costs will all be about the same. The only real difference is in how many in the Presidents family require SS protection. I am not sure if adult children get protection or not. The last President I remember for sure to have adult children was George H Bush. I don't think George W had SS protection while he was owner of the Texas Rangers.

I do now considering that's exactly how Trump deals with debt. And remember the debt also includes two wars put on the credit card.

Something else I don't believe gets publicity as a job killer is Amazon. They hire people, but they're gonna eventually put a lot of big name businesses in the red. They're predicted to be the first ever 1 trillion dollar company. They're starting to expand into groceries. Amazon Go is really going to change things. Department stores are getting smashed by them too.

Just wait for them to buy Netflix and become a monopoly.

It would be easier to comment if you had lead with an actual story of what happened.

I did read about it and it's a bit disturbing. I'm kind of surprised that Ivanka was put in charge of his businesses because from my perspective, I see her playing the "first lady" role more than Melania... Melania seems like the type to attend the social functions etc but Ivanka seemed more like the one to take up a more traditional "first lady" cause.. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

These stories have been coming out since Donald Trump won the election. His son was talking to Argentina about the Trump Tower that soon became greenlit after Donald won. Isn't this the joke? He's a businessman. If you run a successful business, who reaps the rewards?

Math has nothing to do with this corruption of business and working the republican politicians. And BTW the republican trickle down economy does not work.

I just heard something, while flipping through the channels, about Trump announcing that a Japanese company he met with is investing $4 billion in the US, and will be creating 50,000 US jobs.

I'd say Trump is off to a pretty good start, considering he isn't even in office yet. I am starting to wish I had voted for him.

Remember when the President's press secretary dismissed Trump working to save 1000 jobs in Indiana, and he said something like he would have to do that 800 times over to match what president Obama had done in his 8 years?

Well, here is another 50,000 .... and Trump is still over a month away from taking office.

Trump says SoftBank will invest $50 billion in the US, aiming to create 50,000 jobs
http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/06/trump-say...50000-jobs.html

Donald Trump said on Monday that Japan's SoftBank agreed to invest $50 billion in the U.S., aiming to create 50,000 jobs.

He announced the deal after meeting with SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, a Japanese billionaire and technology investor, at Trump Tower in New York. On Twitter, Trump claimed that Son said he "would never do this" if Trump had not won the presidential election.

SoftBank owns most of telecom company Sprint and bought British chipmaker ARM Holdings earlier this year.
Son told reporter that he arranged the meeting with Trump and likes him "very much."

Okay...I guess I'm going to really show my ignorance on this but..... If my Kids were discussing business with leaders I would be Thrilled. What in the world is wrong with your kids talking business with world leaders? It's not like their spilling the nuke codes or anything like that. It's not even like the leaders would even listen to what their saying, but maybe they all learn something. Please enlighten me?

It is the perception (whether it is real or not) that Donald Trump is using his influence as President elect to win private business deals for his (and his families) businesses. He is President and his daughter has basically been put in charge of his business... so for the two of them to meet together with a foreign leader like this is a bit strange.

This was also a big deal when Bush/Cheney were meeting with oil folks, having come from the oil business and with he and Cheney still having interests in oil companies. It became common for democrats to claim the meetings were about Bush/Cheney doing favors for oil companies, then gas prices went up and they were sure it was because Bush/Cheney were trying to make money for the oil industry... conversely, when Obama was in office and oil prices went up, it was because he was trying to save the environment... then when they went down it was because he was trying to save the economy... when in reality, he had nothing to do with either.

This conflict of public/private interests hasn't affected a democrat president in quite a long time since none of them have ever really held a job or had a major stake in a private business.

I know you didn't. Still does not mean you can't have the family involved. But after reading DC's comments, I'll defer to you who have a better business understanding than myself.
