RG lasting four games? With Cam? That is pushing Believeland to its limits. Fingers crossed.
Cam has started to play better...I'm curious to see if the IT FACTOR HAS KICKED IN.
Just when did Cam injure RG3 in the past...RG3 is the only QB we have to get rid of the ball quick which has been our main problem in losing QBs and also Refs not protecting our QBs...Kessler's 1st and terrible concussion...Blow to the head an only head while throwing...no flag.
RG3 Helmet Spear to the Shoulder before he got Out of bounds...no flag...broken shoulder.
McCown in the pocket throwing and helmet to the shoulder...broken collar bone...no flag.
Year after year we have to go through this and the announcers all come in and diss our OL cause of the injuries. They are not that bad...can they get better. Yeah some continuity in system sure can help!
oh and btw...yes its time to start RG3!

I agree that there shouldn't have been a flag on that play.
Are the refs out to get the Browns? I wouldn't put it that way, but they are definitely biased against the poorer teams in the league. Considering the Browns are the worst team in the league, calls tend to go against them.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
tony's loving it and his sarcasm is a bit of a payback for being blackballed by Berea. Hell Jason Lackoffornication has more sources that espn's cleveland beat writer lol.
Robert Griffin III - QB - Browns ESPN's Adam Schefter reports there's a "real chance" Robert Griffin III (shoulder, injured reserve) is the Browns' Week 14 starter. Griffin has yet to even be formally activated off injured reserve, but most signs are pointing toward him starting against the Bengals. The lost-year Browns might as well take a four-game look — if Griffin can stay healthy that long — headed into the offseason. We'd consider the odds heavily stacked against Griffin being the team's 2017 quarterback.
Here is a video of it. Doesn't look like there should have been a flag. Oh, and the refs aren't out to get the Browns.
I know I'm a Homer so my Opinion doesn't count. Could have sworn the defender Lowers his Head where the first thing that makes impact on RG3 is the helmet to the shoulder...again hard enough to to break the SHOULDER.
Yep the defender right before impact lowers his head where it is the first thing that makes contact. thought that was illegal.
As far as the conspriracy - The refs pure and simple do not give our QBs any respect. How bout Kesslers first Concussion which has been reported as the really bad one. The defender (2nd one ) cam full speed left to right and hit one thing and one thing only - Kessler's HEAD....again no flag. Knocking him out never to return to the game. Year after year...Conspiracy...they huddle together and say lets get the Browns QB injured. No but they simply for whatever reason do NOT give our QBs the protection they give others. Is it a respect thing? Don't know all I know is it happens and happens a lot.
I remember DA get his head turned around with a face mask and on the replay there is the ref viewing the play right in front of him...no flag.
It happens all over the league...but a high rate with our QBs.
His head goes forward then back....head goes forward then back...
Thank you for the video to pretty much prove my point. What hit his shoulder? The defenders HELMET...that was lowered right before IMPACT. Its right there.

Robert Griffin III will start Week 14 against the Bengals. This was expected but is now official. The Browns want to see what they have in Griffin after losing him in the season opener. Griffin will get the final four weeks to audition for the 2017 starting job, but the odds are stacked against him. Cleveland can save $7.5 million from releasing Griffin this offseason. I know that this was a Mike Silver quote, but I guess I don't understand why the odds are stacked against him any more or less than any other QB.
Kessler hasn't been lighting it up and he's had issues with staying healthy, same with McCown..
I kinda expect Kessler will be around, but I wouldn't be surprised to see both the other two gone. Maybe/probably Hogan also.

Browns coach Hue Jackson admits Robert Griffin III's starting stint is an "audition" for next season. Griffin, who simply hasn't been the same since his magical rookie season, is going to have a hard time acing it. Jackson also said "availability" was the most important thing for a quarterback. RGIII has rarely had it. Jackson said he made the decision to start Griffin after watching tape of Wednesday's practice. It's an intriguing experiment that will probably amount to nothing.

Well, there is this:
Quote:
Cleveland can save $7.5 million from releasing Griffin this offseason.
There is also an propensity to be injured and poor play for the last few years or so, along w/other teams were not interested in him when he became a free agent. I think the Jets were the only team to bring him in, and that was probably because Fitz was holding out.
BEREA, Ohio -- The sight of Hue Jackson welling up with tears after the 27-13 loss to the Giants was not lost on his players.
They love playing for him. They know how meaningful it would be for him to bust the 0-12 streak Sunday against the Bengals, where he spent four seasons before taking the Browns job.
"It's paramount,'' said Robert Griffin III, who's expected to start. "It's his former team, but I just think when you see coach break down like that, as a player in this locker room, we already wanted to play hard for him, but it makes you want to play harder for him and win for him because he doesn't deserve to be 0-12.
"Talking about is not going to do anything about it but I think seeing that emotion from coach lights a fire in everybody, so we've got to go out and prove it on Sunday.''
Left tackle Joe Thomas also knows what a win would mean to Jackson against the team which rescued him after he had been fired as head coach of the Raiders in 2011. His recent stint with the Bengals, including the 2014-15 seasons as offensive coordinator, was the second of his career. He previously was receivers coach from 2004-06. So he's spent more time in Cincinnati than anywhere in his 16 years in the NFL.
"Obviously getting a win this week would be really big for us for a number of reasons, but I think the man that's leading the ship right now is very well-respected in the locker room and we understand how important it would be for him to be able to beat the Bengals,'' said Thomas. "I think that's a little extra motivation for the guys in the locker room."
Jackson had a chance to succeed Lewis, as a succession plan was in place. But he opted to come here instead. Now he's in jeopardy of becoming the second head coach in the NFL to go 0-16.
The last guy, Lions coach Rod Marinelli, got the axe, but the Browns have no plans of firing Jackson, according to Browns Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown.
"Obviously, the situation has been difficult, but what I see is a football team that is still playing very hard, still having opportunity to win these football games,'' said Lewis. "It just has not broken their way."
Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who became close to Jackson, wouldn't say he feels for his plight.
"I love the guy," he said on a conference call Wednesday. "I'm mad that he left us, but obviously, he had to go take another opportunity. He's going to change that program. It's going to take time. You just can't come in and change it as soon as you want it to. ... He he will get that program up and running sooner or later."
Burfict said Jackson took him under his wing after he was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2012.
"I was able to talk to Hue about anything, and we have a close relationship,'' he said. "He is a great coach, a great person, a great personality. He is great motivational coach because he will get you fired up and ready to go.''
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Browns coach Hue Jackson showed up late for his postgame press conference after about a 40-minute meeting with his bosses, but assured folks his job is still safe. Then, he welled up with tears when talking about how hard 0-12 is following Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Giants.
Asked if he'll take some time over the bye week to get away, he said, "I'm going to be very honest with all of you. I don't know how to do that yet. Because being 0-12 is probably the hardest thing ever.''
With that, he stopped, fought back the tears, pursed his lips and tapped the side of podium about eight times to compose himself.
He apologized for making making reporters wait so long, but said it wasn't to gather himself after his 12th straight loss.
Poster: Vambo...."I was able to talk to Hue about anything, and we have a close relationship,'' he said. "He is a great coach, a great person, a great personality. He is great motivational coach because he will get you fired up and ready to go.''
Good then Hue should have no trouble signing elite FA's in the off season.

wouldn't it be interesting if RGIII runs the rest of the year and gets four straight wins...would that mean we forgo drafting a QB in the early rounds? and start picking BPA...can't miss, we need someone every where.
I bet you're wondering the samething I did, why O' why didn't I take the...blue pill

I hope not. He's not reliable.

I try not to think things like this because, in my opinion, it's like holding a Powerball ticket thinking about what you will do if you win. It's seriously so unlikely to happen that it's a waste of time to even speculate.
I think that, because of RGIII's injury history, the front office needs to take a QB in an early round regardless of what RGIII does or doesn't do the rest of the year. As a fan, the only reason I can accept for NOT taking a QB early is if they acquire a young, starting-caliber QB via trade before the draft.
I'm guessing he'll still play more, but has everyone seen enough of RG3 yet or no? He's just not lookin' good... I dunno, maybe our receivers can't get open sometimes?
I think RG3 STINKS ... but yesterday was his 1st game back and in bad weather ...
Can we give him at least a week to shake off the rust?
Judging him off yesterday just isn't fair ...
I agree...it's painful to watch at times...but we MUST figure out IF he can be the guy. I wouldn't personally have tried that particular reclamation project...but we did and this far in we have to let it play out. I won't likely change my mind on that this year unless he gets hurt again.
by the same token, it isn't entirely unfair, either.
It's not like RG3 just got here. He's been here almost 9 months now and has had plenty of time to learn and know the offense. I'm also thinking that he didn't just start practicing, or being able to attend practices, this past week.
So, yeah, there's some rust, but he wasn't even in PreSeason form. A concussed Kessler would have outplayed him, and I'm betting that had Hogan been active, he would have, as well.... or, at least, wouldn't have been any worse.
The dude is junk.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
I think you have to roll with RG3 for the following reasons:
1. Kessler is already damaged goods. He's shell shocked. I think his only chance at rehabilitation is to stop playing this year, take the off season to reflect, and see if he can come back more settled down. The guy is simply afraid to throw the ball per the plays that are called. It is incredibly frustrating to watch. I couldn't imagine being his coach.
2. RG3 looked just like Kessler in that he was afraid to throw the ball yesterday. I don't remember that being the case game 1 so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Let him finish the season. Kessler has more of a future here than RG3, IMO. Don't ruin Kessler. Let RG3 take the hits. Maybe he'll surprise. I don't think it's likely, but I really feel the Browns, as a team and organization, have nothing to gain by trotting Kessler out there any more this year. He'll just get damaged more. The Browns need to see if RG3 has a future here or not.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
As far as the rest of the season starting Griffin? Does it matter?
McCown is the best quarterback on the team. However, what purpose does it serve to start a guy who obviously does not fit future plans.
Kessler could gain some experience. I would start him because if he is destined to be a backup the experience could help him.
Griffin should be released after the season. Forget rust and weather. He can not read the field. It is as plain as day. In addition he is inaccurate on throws that should be automatic. I see no hope for Griffin as a NFL starter.
The Browns must see that the answer to the quarterback position is not on the roster. They could bring Kessler back. McCown will most likely retire or be forced too.
Their options are the draft or swinging a deal for Garoppolo which is the direction I believe they should take.
If they decide to go the draft route I would take Trubisky but since Kizer declared for the draft I would look at him closely. Both of them are projects and do not project as starters next year.
One way or the other the Browns will have to make a decision at quarterback because the answer is not on the roster.
