i bet we trade down with one of them ... both of them? there may be a mutiny

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Watson is definitely worth our second 1st rounder.

So I'm not concerned what # that ends up being after we draft Garrett.

Did you see San Fransisco throw that game yesterday against the Jets?

(we still could lose the #1 pick if we win a game)

Hey at least Philadelphia lost.

(our second 1st round pick is moving higher)

The Browns could easily end up with three 1st round picks.

I'm pretty sure, that would upgrade a few holes (but don't quote me).

They absolutely had that game. I saw jets fans saying they must have thrown that game as well.

Eagles play the Ravens and Giants who both are fighting for playoff spots. Cowboys will probably rest guys week 17. However, I feel really good about possibly having another top 10 pick.

You realize that if the cowboys rest their starters...that means they have to play Romo!!! Could be a loss for the eagles.

Will* be a loss for the Eagles. That also means Alfred Morris gets the bulk of the work load. Not looking good for our brethren of the cheesesteak down the stretch here.

I watched the game and Powell had a couple runs that just completely changed the energy in this one. Petty also showed some attitude with his runs and a couple big throws.

I believe we can beat the Chargers but 49ers should beat the rams

Leonard Fournette some of his runs kind of force you to say D-A-M-N and almost jump out of your chair. The Ole Miss player at 2:17 is probably still on the ground.

When it comes to the NFL, the guys in front control the keys to the run game.

Gurley was a freaking animallllll at UGA. One of a lifetime kind of back, and now he's suffering in LA.

I'd say avoid drafting any HB's and invest in perfecting the guys that matter most. Oline.

We drafted a guy who had highlight reels against Ole Miss.

Hmmm, the possibility of 2 top 10 picks for us with the draft actually taking place IN Philly. But I'm sure getting Wentz last year will keep their fans happy, right. RIGHT?? wink

GARRETT TO BROWNS, WATSON TO 49ERS IN PFF’S 2017 MOCK DRAFT

1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, Edge, Texas A&M

The big question will be at quarterback for the Browns and trying to decipher if any signal-caller is worth taking at the top of the draft. There are certainly questions at the top and the Browns have two first-round picks to play with, so they do have some flexibility, especially with what is shaping up to be a very deep defensive draft. That said, they add the best pass-rusher in the draft in Garrett who graded at 91.0 as a rusher this season despite playing while banged up for much of the year. He has the burst, bend and power that teams are looking for off the edge and his three-year production is outstanding. Coming into the year, we wanted to see Garrett improve against the run and he did just that by grading at 86.8 to finish fourth among all edge defenders.

9. Cleveland Browns (from Philadelphia Eagles): Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

The second quarterback of the first round comes off the board in Trubisky who is creeping up the PFF Draft Board, though we have him as more of a back end of the first round player. However, the Browns are in position to take a chance and they look to Trubisky who is coming off a breakout year at North Carolina. He has the size, arm and athleticism to catch the attention of scouts, but he was also accurate as a first-year starter and he made good decisions with the ball in his hands. It all led to Trubisky ranking 10th in the nation among quarterbacks, and it would be even higher if not for a disastrous game in a hurricane against Virginia Tech. While he has the tools to build around, the risk with Trubisky is the lack of sample size as he only has the one year of starting experience, but it was an impressive season and there’s a chance he goes even higher on draft day.

I'd love it if the draft fell this way.

What is the point of doing this completely inaccurate mock drafts? Can we make a thread just for mock drafts that are completely unrealistic? Does anyone else care about these mock drafts besides the person who posts them?

The thread title is "who should we draft?"

In mock drafts one generally picks players they think we should Draft if they are there in that slot. Are any of them realistic? We won't know till after the actual draft.

I'm not sure what board that site uses, but it seems to incorporate some randomness which is interesting. Let's you try out different scenarios.

I read other people's mocks to see if any new names to look into come up.

If PFF says Watson (or any QB) is worth the #2 pick, then isn't he also worth the #1 pick?

Sure. But mocking someone to a team in a certain spot does not mean that they think the player is worth that spot. Just saying that they think that is who the team will pick at that spot.

PFF said Dak was a 7th rounder pre-draft, so I have about as much faith in their QB evals as I do in the Browns' Front Office.

You would pick two DE's?

Interesting. Can you explain cause this sounds like a potential glorious move.

I don't follow college football much but I do like to skim through these to see what the consensus is, who we perhaps should get.

I proly wouldnt actually draft 2.

But the point would be to address what imho is the biggest weakness on defense. Adds 2 premium prospects to see defense front that features 2 starters who shouldn't be.
Adds interior pass rush to the nickel defense.

Couldn't resist another try at a mock. I'm intrigued by Vea as a 3-4 end or a 4-3 DT - I think he could have an impact like Allen may have on our front 7. Gone for an overhaul of the secondary and felt like Watson was good value in the 2nd. Fire away laugh

Trying to evaluate Qb's is frustrating. I pulled up some breakdown of Davis Webb Qb Cal. I watched around 100 pass plays. Felt like 80 were bubble screens or regular screens.

As a Gm, I would have the scouts filter out all the bubble screens from a Qb's stats then look at completion % etc.

I would like drafting Robinson for our RT with our second 1st round pick if he lasts that long. I think they should just go BPA with first pick.

I think we should take a stab at William Likely if he's still around with our last pick. We need a whole mess of corners and he is a terrific cover man. He's also an electric returner. Between his size and his injury he is probably out of people's minds, but he is a great player.
