From what I saw yesterday and what I've seen this season. The Cavs really don't care about the regular season. They play at an insanely different energy level when playing against the best teams as compared to a team like Detroit.

yeah no lebron + our bench getting extended minutes= autoloss...at some point though they need to prove they can beat crap teams like detroit without lebron.. Our bench is garbage outside of shump , rj and frye, even shump as a backup pg isn't ideal as when he starts to press he's horrible, and RJ is so hot and cold and Frye is not a 5, we need one, we don't have one on the team. TT is average but weak defending...exceptional offensive rebounder and hustle guy, I think he'd thrive as a 4/5 coming off the bench..His energy is infectious though, just wish he had more ceiling in his game or he atleast looks like he could get better. But guys like Dunleavey, Mcrae, felder and JJ have no business being on a championship team..they don't really provide anything, I'd keep Dunleavey as a vet, but replace the other 3 with Dleague standouts. Liggins, while fiesty on defense, can't play the point very well. He needs to start shooting his shots, he's got plenty, he just needs to start taking them. He seems petrified to shoot. He's like Ben Wallace in a Guard body. Regular season really drags on now..my only fear is not having a decent bench causes us to run our big 3 into the ground. I'll trust Lue to get them the required rest..but it would be nice if we could have quite a few games where we can hand the bench a 12-15 point lead for the 4th and know they can keep the lead, then you're getting rest and you're staying in rhythm . Is it April yet.

Did anyone hear rumors of the cavs trying to make a play for Noel?

Since LeBron James returned to the Cavaliers, they're 129-43 in games he plays (.750) and they're now 4-18 when he doesn't play (.182).

The 76ers coach seems fairly adamant about running Noel's trade value into the ground. If we could somehow keep Liggins, I'd love a trade. Honestly, I'd see if we could get Richaun Holmes from them for scraps. He's pretty interesting considering his value might be 0 to the 76ers.

I was not surprised by last night's game. You could almost see the letdown coming. Not a big deal.

I do think that Lue better be careful w/how many minutes he is playing RJ. He's going to wear out. Limit his minutes and keep him fresh for the playoffs.

I read where Philly might be looking to move Noel. He is a very talented player. I'd love for us to get him, but how the heck can we do that? Anyone know? I know he won't come cheap.

Everyone in the Philly media believes that Noel will be traded for peanuts. His contact is expiring at the end of the season and he'll be a restricted free agent, but an FA none the less. Their HC is refusing to play Noel now that he's healthy. The situation is turning more and more toxic by the day.

Honestly, if I'm GS, I'm doing everything I can to get Noel. They have no interior presence and it's beginning to show. Noel gives you that and more.

Someone will get a bargain for Noel, which is why the 76ers should trade Okafor, even if there might be less demand for him around the league.

Yeah Noel has a friendly 4.5 million salary as well..I was reading up on it and it looks like it would be part of a 3 team deal, we'd end up with rubio,Noel, and tyus Jones we'd lose Shump/liggins/Dunleavey/mo williams contract and I believe a second...If Noel is for sale, thats the guy we need to go after and not let GS have him

Noel is such a talent, but I'm just not sure if it's worth giving up size on the wing or perimeter defense.

I think you can get away with it on the perimeter if you have rim protection, and with what's going down with philly, we might be able to get him for alot less.

Eh. I'm just not sure that great rim protection is all that important against GS. They just don't drive enough. But if we could either give up Liggins or Shump for him, I certainly won't complain.

I'm not sure it's a given it's going to be GS out of the west, People keep sleeping on SA. They've been just as impressive as the Cavs or Golden State, we would need it for SA for sure, but theres the fact that Golden State is interested in him too, Noel is agile enough too he could play away from the rim. Going to be interesting to see how it plays out

I can't believe this is even being debated. If that were true, the Cavs gotta pull the trigger immediately. That would be a steal.

Unfortunately, it's too good to be true.............thus, it's probably a false rumor.

I agree it's a no brainer, I think the Noel deal is the most realistic, that was sending dunleavey, liggins, and mo williams for noel, getting rubio is where the 3 team deal came in and would require picks and shumpert. I think cavs are hesitant to part with shumpert as he is close with lebron/jr/kyrie...but outside of that, theres nothing that he does extra special that would cause me to think twice. I guess the big thing in philly is they don't want to upset Embiid who has come out and said that Noel is his BFF, so they might actually be able to move Okafor easier. I guess Greg Monroe is available as well

Plus, Rubio would be a huge addition. We really could use a backup PG and he is a guy who likes to distribute the ball and doesn't have the big ego that comes w/a lot of PGs.

Man, that would be a killer trade.

SAS had been a very close 2nd favorite team of mine for the past decade, and I give them no chance of winning the West. Last year, I thought they would, but not this year. Tony and Manu are no longer the players they once were. The young guys are showing great promise, but Slow mo, Simmons, Dedmon still have room to grow. But they'd murder the Cavs after this trade. They and the Warriors have great size on their roster, especially on the wings. If the trade happened who would be guarding the wings for us? JR, RJ and LeBron? While Rubio is a top defensive PG, he just doesn't have the size to guard Klay or Danny Green. Tyus, don't even get me started. Absolutely no size. Now, if we could get Shabazz instead, I'd have no problem. Probably better for everyone considering how well Tyus has been playing with the Wolves in his limited minutes.

giving them no chance isn't rational...they are a very good team, they've already thumped GS by 30 in their own building. Spurs matchup well with GS, and their size gives them troubles..Not saying its a for sure thing, but to say they have no chance isn't realistic. They have a great mix of veterans and youth, plus the best coach in bball

There's a big difference between regular season basketball and playoff basketball. I have watched 95% of the games the Spurs have played over the past 3 years. Parker and Manu would have to have crazy play off series to win the West. Quite frankly, they don't have it in them anymore.

Leonard, LA, and Gasol will be tough matchups for GS, Manu and Parker won't have to do much. I just hope they get a chance to play in the WCF, i know people have been wanting that matchup for a few years

The Spurs problem has been dealing with ultra athletic bigs. The Thunder and Clippers give them problems because of that.

i agree, but if they can get to the finals, i think they have a greater than 50% chance of beating golden state

They'll do and have been playing much better against the ultra athletic bigs this year. Boris Diaw is probably one of the most athletic bigs of all time, but he had lost a step by the time he came here. Still freakishly athletic, but he wasn't the same when he was with the Suns. Boban was great at using his size, but he was a plotter. Now that we have Dedmon though, it's a different story. He just flies up and down the court. Really fun to watch.

Not sure. At some point, the glamour match-up will bore people because they're the same teams. Heck, Lebron is going for his 7th Finals in a row. I know a few people, Chicago people, that won't watch because of him (which is odd because it's obvious jealously of Lebron's assault on MJ's GOAT legacy).

I think it would be awesome to have the Warriors lose to the Spurs, Clippers or Rockets in the 2nd round. I think that would generate even more interest in the Finals.

It might bore US audiences, but I'm sure the international market would love it. They don't have the geographic rooting interests like America does. Although, I'll always think that basketball is much more a game of personal mythology than a team sport for everyday fans. I think rivalries like these are great for the game. Hell, just talk to people about the Celtics vs. Lakers. The best thing about this rivalry is that they hate each other. You can tell. It's palpable. Hell LeBron spends 99% of his on court time playing the game. Most game he whines to the refs a little bit and might stay on the court after being knocked down for a few seconds. Not against Golden State. This rivalry is the greatest thing to happen to the game. Never would I think to see such competition during the era of super teams. I just can't wait until we start getting more European imports into this melting pot. I think the NBA is going to take off very soon.

Question,

Does it really matter how great Stevens is when he faces great teams? The Cavs have guys with insanely high basketball IQs. Stevens isn't going to do a whole lot schematically that will confuse a guy like Lebron.

I would like to see love sustain his shooting from the first half in games.

I mean he has 16 already. But he always kinda disappears in the second half.
