So 5 years is a few years... and it's an indication that retirement is looming.

From some of the comments on this Board people are making this way more complicated than it is.

Start with the fact that there is no quarterback on this roster who is the answer to the position.

The team needs to find an answer in order to compete for anything.

The quarterbacks in this draft all have a huge learning curve in front of them. Figure two years at the minimum. Even then they may never live up to a first round selection. Very hard to forecast these guys into the NFL based upon where they are coming from.

Garoppolo at this point is much easier to project into an NFL offense. There is much more information available on him in totality and where he is at this stage of his career.

The more I look into this the more I am convinced that making the trade for Garoppolo is the way to go.

How many thought Dak Prescott would be doing what he is doing when he was drafted in the 4th rd., most here and around the NFL probably thought he had a huge learning curve in front of him, like you said its hard to forecast these guys so who are we to say that Trubisky or Watson or whoever won't turn out to be another Dak regardless of where they are picked ...

I don't think there was a single throw in the first video that was impressive. Every receiver was open by a country mile. He wasn't close to getting hit on any play.

I was more talking about the movement in the pocket, while keeping his eyes downfield, finding an open receiver and making a perfect pass (albeit to a wide open receiver).

There were two QBs I like in last years draft..Wentz as a 1st round pick and Prescott. I thought Prescott was a 2nd or 3rd round talent.

If you had a potential 3rd round grade on him - then you didn't expect him to be doing what his doing... correct?

I think any developmental player you take - most especially a QB - in the 2nd and 3rd rounds on, you are hoping they might be a starter one day, and certainly not the year you draft them.

I haven't seen your history of pimping Dak .... but kudos for you if you saw that talent when most did not. I do remember a lot of people pimping Jimmy G and some suggesting that 3 or 4 years after the draft he would be the cream of that year's crop.

I would be willing to give up this year's 2nd round pick with a 4th next year than moves up to a 2nd if we sign Jimmy G to a contract extension. I would try to give up the Tenn pick but would probably be willing to give up pick #33.

I wouldn't give up #12 for him. Though I might be willing to trade #12 with the next year's conditional pick as above for Jimmy G and a their #1 pick this year.

Just my 2 cents

I think one thing a lot of folks didn't notice is that masterful pump fake. The reason the guy was wide open is because Jimmy G. froze the defense so hard with his trademark pump fake they actually tripped over themselves. By the time they recover it's too late.

Why does it work? Because Jimmy G. consistently gets rid of the ball so fast that the defense doesn't have a choice but to bite and he sells it so well when he does it even announcers are biting on the fake. You will sometimes see the camera man have to move the camera back because he got fooled too.

That pump fake is just so awesome I love to watch it =)

I can only recall one other like that by Derek Anderson in 2007. On that play, DA dropped back on 3rd-and-a-lot, and as the pass pro started to break down, he slid to his right a few yards and delivered a pass that had a vapor trail to Joe Jurevicius about 25 yards downfield in the seam. If Joe hadn't caught it, it might have ruptured his spleen. I remember thinking "okay, we have a QB.".

Too bad he also threw swing passes to our backs with the same vicious velocity. Which is why I knew we didn't have a QB.

I was disputing that claim. If you think otherwise, that is your perogative. I should have known better to answer your questions.

Better yet, what the hell are you talking about?

Alright Da-Man. Please provide a link that states that the Pats think that Brissett is a better qb than Jimmy G.

Remember how this started? You said you read it somewhere. I said you read it on here. If there is an article that says the Pats like Brissett over Jimmy G, I will apologize to you.

I don't expect you to apologize if you can't find one, because that is not in your character make-up.

DA was a way better qb than he was given credit for in Cleveland. The dumb ass fans wanted BQ to be the QB and they bad-mouthed every move DA made, even though he had the best statistical year in the FREAKING HISTORY of the Browns.

DA's fate in Cleveland was sealed when our genius coaching staff had him throw 48 passes in a freaking gale that December day in Cinci, 4 of them intercepted. A lot of fans never forgave that - it cost us a trip to the playoffs. Trouble is, they blamed the wrong guy. We had Jamal Lewis that year, and we could have/should have blasted them on the ground, but Romeo and whoever the OC was (I forget) didn't see it that way.

Get to know Jimmy G. from an interview with his family. I don't think it's possible not to like him as a person =) Dude looks like freaking superman! We gotta get this guy!

I wasn't one that wanted Brady. I just wasn't sold on Anderson being 'the guy' either. I'd seen him in the pros be the guy I watched as an Oregon Beaver. Big arm. BIG. Wasn't afraid to make a decision and sling it, but was prone to spraying it all over. Winslow's and Edwards' catch radiuses bailed DA out quite a few times. It's also widely known and accepted he lacked touch on intermediate and short passes. Why he could never correct that in his game I never understood. But he couldn't do it in college and he still struggles with it to this day. He's a career back up for a reason.
I will agree. It was a fun season. We never knew what to expect. Deep throws. Circus catches. But it was fools gold. Quinn or no Quinn it wasn't a long term answer. I do wish we could have used him as a bridge QB but Brady/the fan base made that impossible.
And here we sit with the #1 pick the year before Darnold, Browning, Rosen (who I'm not sold on), and Jackson... All better pro prospects that what's available this year.
...it's so Browns I could cry.

Shut up, arch. Do you think Vambo's post of DA going off showed class?

He started the BS no-class crap. Yet, you ignore that and blast me for doing EXACTLY what he did.

Wait............are you denying that Vambo didn't post a negative video of DA before I posted my comments of Couch?

I will post the order if you try denying it, arch.

Tell me, why did you chastise me but not
vambo?

I am talking about what a freaking hypocrite you are. Vambo posted a video of DA that painted him in a bad light.
Why? I know why and so do you. He is just being Vambo.

Thus, I played his game and made a comment about
Couch. You totally ignored the guy who FREAKING STARTED IT and chose to scold me. How freaking refreshingly new. You are full of crap arch and you have penis envy when it comes to me.

What?

Yeah yeah, it's always "other" people. Where'd you come up with penis envy? I've never seen your penis, how could I envy it?

I have seen your ego, and your supposed "expertise" regarding any topic that comes up. Ever.

But penis envy? Really?

Btw---Mr. Board Policeman. Why didn't you get on Vambo for being classless? Again, he is the one who started it. How did you miss that?

Anyone w/a brain knows your game. There are several of you on here........You, Dep, Memphis,
vambo, WSU, and 888 that are totally full of crap. You badger anyone w/a different opinion than yours and hide behind numbers. Y'all make this a not so nice place to visit and this place would be a lot better w/out you.

You are correct. He said it was classless when I posted the vid of the steeler crying for a penalty, and then he makes fun of one of our own crying and calls him a childish name.
