Find anything?

I remember hearing it, but couldn't find it. It doesn't appear to be in any of the written transcripts, though I haven't checked the ones earlier in the season. I was going through the videos that didn't have the transcript written, and didn't hear it there either. Those were rather depressing.

I wonder if the Browns took it down? Not a very reassuring thought to me if they are seeing a franchise QB and are trying to hide it.

We've got to be open to a trade down. It might happen.

Yup, for a crappy team's first next year, and not past seven. It could look something like this:

Your score is: 10840 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 7 (LAC): Malik Hooker, FS, Ohio State (A)
Round 1 Pick 12: [censored] Tabor, CB, Florida (A)
Round 2 Pick 1: Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan (A)
Round 2 Pick 6 (LAC): DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame (A-)
Round 2 Pick 20: David Njoku, TE, Miami (Fla.) (A)
Round 3 Pick 1: Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida (A+)
Round 4 Pick 1: David Sharpe, OG, Florida (B+)
Round 5 Pick 32: Garrett Sickels, DE, Penn State (A)
Round 6 Pick 1: Corey Clement, RB, Wisconsin (A)

Your Future Picks:
2018 Round 1 Pick
2018 Round 1 Pick (LAC)
2019 Round 1 Pick

I'd take that draft in a heartbeat.

SF yes, #2 and a 2nd this year or next.
Chicago yes - #3 and next year's first would be enough, but I'd certainly take more.
Jacksonville yes, #4, 2018 1st, and a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
Tennessee yes, #5 and #18, plus a pick next year in the 20-50 range.

Beyond that, no.

Not sure if it was the sit down presser with the mike and water...I picture him standing and somebody asking with the statement No overall #1 caliber QB...Hue said there is one...oh yes.

Whatever it was it was not right after a game. For some reason I remember it as during the week.
jmho
recollection but I can picture him saying it and his eyes lit up.

NFL analysts chime in on the best QB in the draft:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...b-on-your-board

2 go for Kizer, 2 for Mitch and 1 for Watson. The venerable Gil Brandt goes with Mitch.

Grimm, Fair enough. Though I will say this. I don't know if you're one of us who watches a lot of tape but I'm not concerned with Garrett's motor like some are. If you are not concerned with his motor don't be concernEd with mcdowells. Mcdowell makes a lot more plays in pursuit or down the line than garrett does.

no I like it bro...I went the other way in trading up lol and only drafted six players but five of those I think would be instant starters filing at least five holes in one shot...but I like your take on it as well...well done

Dude, I love James Harrison. Dude is the poster boy of what a football player should be. He spends a ton of money on keeping himself in shape. He plays hard. He defies age. He is not dirty, but he will kick your ass if he is able to.

Another day another great draft at the expense of letting garrett go. Got my personal best score with this one too.

Your score is: 11057 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 7 (LAC): Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee (A)
Round 1 Pick 12: Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina (A+)
Round 1 Pick 18 (TENN): Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (A+)
Round 2 Pick 9 (CINN): Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson (B+)
Round 2 Pick 13 (ARI): Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson (A)
Round 3 Pick 9 (CINN): Tyler Orlosky, C, West Virginia (A)
Round 4 Pick 13 (ARI): Nico Siragusa, OG, San Diego State (A-)
Round 5 Pick 13 (ARI): Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo (A+)

Your Future Picks:
2018 Round 1 Pick
2018 Round 1 Pick (LAC)
2019 Round 1 Pick

----------------

As you can see I got us another 1st round pick for 2018! woot! Having two first round picks next year puts us in a nice spot if Trub doesn't work out or there is a player we GOTTA have =)

I got 6 probable starters at DT, DE, CB, QB, RT, and C. Granted QB might not start year one but no doubt he would end up being our franchise QB for better or worse. I like that there is a good balance of players for both sides of the ball. Defense would gain the most in this draft though and it would be a big gain.

What you guys think?

Browns picks:

Quote:

1 BROWNS
Myles Garrett - DE, Texas A&M: The Browns are in desperate need of a quarterback, but I think Garrett will be too tempting to pass up. He has all-pro talent and will be a perfect fit in Cleveland's new defensive scheme.

12 BROWNS
Dalvin Cook - RB, Florida St.: The Browns could look at Deshaun Watson with this pick, but Cook would be tough to pass up. He would fit beautifully in Hue Jackson's offense.

Now without debating his picks, here are some guys would be available at 33 - who do you take?

Robinson OT
Peppers SS/LB
Tankersley CB
Humphrey CB
Brantley DT
Mahones II QB
Schuster-Smith WR
Cunningham ILB/OLB

Lots more, obviously.

IMO if Garret is the best player in this draft, or should I say the most talented, then take him. Don't trade down, don't get sucked in by a QB that may have a good workout, take him. This is what we need to start doing with our picks. We have good supporting players now get the impact guys.

Robinson, if he's there to solidify the right side. Assuming his off-field issues are behind him. Or Humphrey, maybe Peppers. Garrett, Cook & Robinson or Humphrey would be a good start. Kaaya or Mahomes in the third?

Really?!

They change the damn rules to accomodate this ape. Remember spearing? "Any opponent using the crown of his helmet to butt, ram, or spear an opponent. 15 yards and possibility of ejection."

This was still in the published NFL rulebook in 2011. In fact, it's still on their website. But if you look at the version updated since then, they quietly removed this one then to much fanfare added the rules that says if you are a receiver who can't protect yourself you can't get hit like this WHICH WAS ALREADY ILLEGAL.

Quote:
The crown of Harrison's helmet slammed into the left side of Cribbs' helmet as the receiver was running a Wildcat formation play, causing Cribbs to crumple face-first into the turf. He appeared to be momentarily knocked out. Because Cribbs was a runner, such helmet-to-helmet contact is permissible. [this was the explanation the NFL made up after the game and has applied it since then across the league. It wasn't in the rulebook prior to this game]

"I thought Cribbs was asleep," Harrison said. "A hit like that geeks you up, especially when you find out the guy is not really hurt, he's just sleeping. He's knocked out but he's going to be OK."

Here's another one, launching crown of helmet into another player's helmet.

Here are some other rules he's broken with dirty hits on Browns players:

15 Yards (and disqualification if flagrant)

Striking opponent on head or neck with forearm, elbow, or hands whether or not the initial contact is made below the neck area.

Quote:
Harrison struck Massaquoi with his helmet as he rammed his right forearm and shoulder into the receiver to break up a pass. NFL rules now require a defender to give a receiver time to defend himself before he absorbs such a hit.

He even signed this picture of this illegal hit.
Classy, Professional

http://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=5699976

Quote:
If he sees players down on the turf -- as he did Sunday when he sidelined Browns wide receivers Josh Cribbs and Mohamed Massaquoi with concussion-causing hits only minutes apart -- he knows he has done his job.

=========================================================

You want to admire his work ethic and conditioning? Fine. But he's a dirty POS who should have been out of the league a long damn time ago.

If you want to like dirty players that's fine. But let's call a spade a spade. You said he wasn't dirty when he's one of the five dirtiest players in the league.

Hasn't Cook had off-field issues, and several fairly major injuries?

All played within the rules of the game. Didn't get special treatment for doing what most other defensive players were getting flagged for.

This might be my favorite non-trade draft yet.

Your score is: 10591 (GRADE: B+)

I don't think Kizer, Watson or Trubisky will last till the 20th pick of the 2nd round

Hasn't Cook had off-field issues, and several fairly major injuries?

I'm not a fan of picking him up as we have bigger holes but Jeremiah is more qualified than myself laugh My post was more to share another view and to ask who folk would want of the remaining players at 33.

I think I'd go for Peppers as Williams' hybrid safety/LB guy.

Probably not, but I also think there is a crap-ton of hype right now that has the QBs rated high. Having said that, if say Kizer is the guy they want, they should take him whenever they feel the need, whether that's 1, 12 or 33. If none of the top three measure up, then draft BPA and go for Kaaya or Mahomes later. If done right, this could be the type of draft that could help fix a lot of problems. JMHO
