Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones unleashed profane tirade on the Cincinnati police officer who arrested him on charges of obstructing official business, disorderly conduct, and assault three weeks ago.
Video from the officer’s car, obtained by TMZ, show Jones repeatedly calling the officer “a b–tch a– ni—-” and seeming to try to intimidate the officer.
“I hope you die tomorrow,” Jones said. “You’re gonna be out of a job tomorrow.”
The officer is not out of a job, but Jones might be soon. The arrest in and of itself was a strike against Jones, who has a significant history of off-field trouble. But when a player’s bad act is caught on video, it makes it much harder for a team to ignore.
There’s also the reality that Jones will turn 34 this year and has a $6.3 million base salary that the Bengals can clear off their books by cutting him. Although Jones started all 16 games in 2016, the Bengals may want to cut him purely for reasons related to age and the salary cap.
So regardless of how the legal case against Jones plays out, it wouldn’t be surprising if he has played his last game in Cincinnati. The Cincinnati Police Department probably wouldn’t mind that.
He won't be homeless, but he definitely needs to be out of the league.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I've seen and heard this play out over and over in videos. It's often more vulgar and hostile than this one was. I could post similar videos every single day and would never run out.
It's only noteworthy because it involves a professional athlete. This is what happens when you brainwash impressionable young minds into thinking that cops are evil, the police, fry 'em like bacon, blah blah blah.

Oh boy.
You just had to go there didn't you?

Then tell cops stop treating impressionable young minds like criminals.

I didn't think that what I wrote was anything that was out of bounds or unreasonable. If anything it is a bit oversimplified. There's only so much information you can convey in a few lines.
Do you disagree with the cause and effect that I suggested, or does it just make you uncomfortable?

Look, I know this happens sometimes. A couple weeks ago Swish posted a good example. I don't condone that kind of behavior.
In this specific case with Adam Jones, we are talking about an actual criminal with a lengthy rap sheet. He once instigated a shooting at a club that left a man paralyzed. Do you really want to make a stand here?
I've seen this conversation play out endlessly. You or someone else says cops should "stop treating impressionable young minds like criminals", or something to that effect. There is some merit to that.
Somebody else will say that such and such group should commit less crime, or not immediately taunt any police officer who happens to roll up. Usually there is endless back and forth arguing, people get called racists and xenophobes, everybody gets pissed and nobody learns anything. There, I just saved us all a couple hours of arguing. Let's all go do something productive instead.

The thread was about Pacman, you specifically said "when you brainwash impressionable young minds into thinking that cops are evil". This is a shot at minorities (please don't try and make the argument trying to say thats not what you were saying)
Don't be mad that I am calling you out on your BS.... you went there.....Pacman is trash and has always been trash... no one is going to deny that he should never been in the league after his problems but he is a good football player. Making money will always be more important than being a bad person.

It's your prerogative to take that as you wish, and perhaps there is a trend there given your reaction, but it applies to many white liberals as well. We saw that these last few days in Washington DC for example. So no, it really wasn't meant as a shot at minorities. Also I don't agree that making money will always be more important than being a bad person but I'll cut you some slack there due to the lack of context.
I'm going to add a few more things and then I hope to be done with this thread, unless I just can't help myself to respond further.
Everybody is impressionable when they are young. That wasn't meant to be a black, white, or green thing. We're all impressionable as we grow up. Do I think all this recent cop bashing that we are seeing is disproportionately reaching young black men? Yes, I think that is fair to say. Why exactly that is so is an interesting discussion. Is it culture? Is it that it accurately describes some of their experiences they've had? I wish we could just openly talk about these things without constantly being on guard about saying the wrong thing.
I know you're acting in good faith, we've had these conversations before and I've never thought you were unfair with me, but I'm just saying man, it gets old hearing some of the same old accusations from a couple other posters.
I know that I was an impressionable young man myself. I have slowly gotten more conservative as I've gotten older while society as a whole has moved rapidly to the left. That's how I would describe it anyway. Others might view it differently.
Haha, timeout with no iPad? Do you want me to call the police because of child abuse? Lmfaoooo
On a serious note, my one friend punishes his kids by taking away their smartphones. This is evidently acceptable "punishment" this day and age. In all honesty, I'm glad I grew up when I did. The world has become confusing for me in many regards.

Ok, so it's not a race thing, its a people thing. Got it.

Nope it's a black thing.
Which is it? These are your words not mine.
You are taking those comments out of context. The part about "impressionable young minds" was not directed at minorities so much as young, naive liberals (hopefully nobody comes in here to tell me that I'm an ageist.)
But yeah, black men are less trusting of police than white men, for example. Isn't that extremely obvious? Rocket posted a bunch of poll data a while back that said that exact thing, and I don't need poll data to tell me that. We see the same attitudes play out on this board and all over the place.
I even gave alternative explanations that you would fine agreeable, such as maybe these attitudes were reaching young black men more because it confirms some of their past experiences. However, you conveniently omitted that part.
I'm not going to continue to debate semantics with you.
One of these days I ought to share some of the stories from my friend, who works as a paramedic in Cleveland. Here's the teaser: he is not a cop, he does not have a badge or a duty gun, but he does sometimes wear a bullet-resistant vest, as he has been attacked while working and is sometimes the recipient of some of the same anger and hostilities that we see directed at police.
Again, he is a PARAMEDIC. And he is a good dude. Most nights he is out there saving people's lives and the flack he gets for it in some neighborhoods is repulsive. And why? because he has uniform that is vaguely similar to a police officer's? Because he sometimes has to talk with police officers as part of his job? Things don't have to be like that, but I'm not sure I have the mental energy to go any deeper right now. Maybe someday.
Or maybe just maybe you will understand that your friend works with poor people in poverty. You can go to anywhere in the world and where there are poor people in poverty you are going to see the same issues. It's all about poverty, but conservatives don't want to help those poor people yall rather leave them to rot and talk about them.
What does your big mouth do to help poor people other than to bash those who aren't like you?
Pretty damn tired of listening to the rhetoric where it is okay to say anything about one group of people, but then get totally offended if someone says something similar about the other group.
How about this, geniuses: Stop judging entire groups of people and start judging individuals based on their acts and deeds?
And how about actually going out in the community you supposedly loved and helping people rather than pointing the metaphorical finger at those who are easy targets?

It does not matter what I have/doing or done, especially posting on a message board. The only person who should know what I am doing is our creator.
I could go on and say how I have done more for black people then many civil rights leaders [cough Vers cough], or I could give you a huge list of "things" that I have done for the black community [cough Vers cough].. however that would be foolish considering that their is no way for me to prove any of it, so it sounds like trolling.
I was taught that if you can't back anything up with data, there is no point in talking about it.
So if I did feed the homeless am I supposed to take pictures and broadcast it to the world? Sounds foolish, right?

I don't think it's so much that conservatives don't want to help people, it's more that we see how much money is spent on entitlements and such with little or no benefit. In some cases it is actively harmful (welfare dependency.)
We throw a huge amount of money at poorly performing schools and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I can dig up some studies but we've already done this before.
"yall rather leave them to rot" - Some people would just rather keep more of the money they earn. It doesn't have to be anything more sinister than that.
The only other thing I'd say is that it's the Tailgate forum and not the Politics Everything Else forum and I wish I would have just kept it on topic with Adam Jones.
I have one huge fundamental problem with conservatives
Traditionally conservatives are more religious and say they they have Christian values, however Jesus would not let people go hungry, Jesus would not allow people to be homeless, Jesus would not allow people to die from lack of health care. Conservatives can not claim to be good Christians when they are not following the fundamental ideas of Jesus.
I will be done talking now. I have made my points.
Back to Pacman, he is scum and he shouldn't be playing football, but if someone can kill someone and be reinstated then this is nothing. NFL is a business and will pay these guys even if they are bad people, because we are as football fans do not care we just want our team to win.

Christians are not perfect. I believe Jesus even says there is no one good other than God. Christians TRY to be good, but all of us fall short. We all stumble at times, we give into temptations, we sin, we screw up.
Dude, you are full of crap. You are a one-sided thinker who loves putting down the other side and then have a hissy fit when someone questions your side.
You might be better off......and the world would be too.......if you judged each person as an individual rather than classifying people into stupid ass groups.
1. I will never be mistaken for a Pacman fan. 2. I understand that the video may have been edited in order to start at the most "opportune" time.
Now that that's out of the way... I actually watched the video. Pacman appears to be the aggressor in the video. He keeps going after the dude, and he really starts swinging once the dude falls down on the ground. I saw the video on ESPN passing the breakroom at work the other day. The heading stated he was attacked, but then the subheading and description stated it a little differently.
I get that the other guy probably started talking smack first and got Jones all riled up, but unless the heading was trying to say he was verbally assaulted, then it's misleading... at best.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
I just watched the video for the first time. Looks to me that neither guy knows how to fight. Throwing haymakers while leaving your face wide open is not too smart. LOL
if trouble seems to always find you, you're probably the one looking for it
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

tall dudes don't know how to fight don't @ me
But Pacman has a more cohesive brand than most athletes and that's commendable imo
