OK first off I'm home now. And want to thank everyone who has prayed it ment so much for me during this time. I wouldn't want anyone to go through this. I still have several months more of recovering before I will be cleared. I will give you two conversation's from day one. When EMS got me to UT the EMT said to the ER as they were unloading me .EMT said I gave him 2-50mg shots of fyntnal and it never touched his pain. So she gave me 2-50mg shots of morphine. She said he should be sleeping, but he obviously isn't. He is in a whole lot of pain.
Then the conversation with my Dr. Went like this. Bob what do you want to do. I said do you really think I'm gonna make it to morning. Of course she said she couldn't answer that, but the earlier the better. I told her I wasn't ready to leave yet so let's do it now. So within 15 minutes I was headed to surgery.
Becky posted that I had fluid in my abdomen, but she didn't say what kind of fluids. I had an preferated ucler in my duodenal area of the stomach. The fluids that were going into my abdomen were stomach acids and bile and blood. it was extremely dangerous.
Anyways I'm home I have a few months now to get back to as normal as I can get. And once again all your prayers helped me pull through this and of course with the backing of my wonderful family. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. #updatesonbobgriggs

It sounds like the doctors got you in just in time. Thank God for that! I will definitely add you to my prayer list, and pray for your rapid, and complete, recovery.
Oh, and Fentanyl is a really bad thing. Really bad. It almost made me throw myself out of a window a few years ago.

Hang in there Nordawg - baseball's coming - Indians first Spring Training game is Feb 25 vs the Reds. Your challenge is finding something to watch on TV between the Super Bowl on Feb 5 and baseball starting on Feb 25. Unless, unlike me, you are a basketball fan, in which case you have no problems. Wall-to-wall hoops, everywhere you look in February.

Good to hear you came out of surgery fine. If it helps any, about 15 years ago I had a similar problem. My intestine had a perforation and was leaking into my abdominal cavity causing an abcess and making me very ill for about 8 months. I pretty much should have died. Then the doctors finally realized what was happening and I went to surgery. I felt so much better immediately afterwards. I healed fast and was back at work in less than 2 weeks. I don't know how old you are, but you should probably heal quick also.
Eve i'm going to be 65 in june.my hole was the size of a srewdriver. when it ruptured it hit me fast and hard. it dropped me right away. lucky for me my wife hadn't left for work. she call 911. They wanted to life flight me but there was fog in Toledo. so ems ride. everything that happened happened at just the right time. if it would have happened 2 hrs. later when she was at work and i got our son on his workshop bus i would have been dead before she got home. there was so many things that happened that if they didn't happen when they did i wouldn't be posting now. and we are still draining my abdamone

Well had my follow up today from my surgery. Dr said i looked so much better than when she last seen me. Had my drain tube removed, and my sticthes removed. She asked how i felt and i said i was still extremely weak. ok course Becky said{ he's not used to this because he has always healed so quickly} Dr said your body took one hell of a hit on this. I was septic on arrival to UT. Anyways asked how long i have to be on Coumadin just the three months because of the blood clot's in my lungs, which she think's happened because of the stomach rupture. anyways i have a ways to go but at least it finally looks like i'm headed in the right direction.

well ytown i will say in 2007 because of all my replacements i had gastris bypass done. i'm 5'10 i weighted 311 lbs. from the time i was 228lbs i was on 1000 cal a day and still gaing weight. no matter the therapy or work outs i was gaing weight. once i had my ankle replaced was when i decided i could don't this on my own. i got down as low as 163, but i said hell no that's 9 lbs less that i graduated. right now i'm flothing between 178-181 and i'm happy, BUT i know this is a platoo and sooner or later i will lose weight, but my body will have time to adjust.

Seems everyone wants a piece of me this week.

OK I know this is all serious and everything but there was a funny thing that happened. My ex wife called my wife and asked if she could visit me. We've been divorced almost 40 yrs now I was allowed morphine every 8 minutes or more if needed. When I seen her walk in I hit the pump.
Now I had anywhere from 13-17 hoses running from 13 pumps. She started talking hit the pump again. She started crying and apologies of what she did 40 yrs ago. Hit the pump again. Anyways I gave her a hug and wished her the best then I called my wife and asked why didn't you give a heads up. It's not like I could getting out of bed. She said you need to put this to rest. Doesn't matter I could have been sleeping.

Nope just the morphine. I used it to my advantage.
