As I have said in other threads, I don't want to drop down to the point that I cannot get one of my top 5 guys. So I agree with not going below #6. However, as a counter point, what if buffalo offered their 1st and 2nd round picks this year and next year and in 2019? That would give me pause for consideration.

As long as we get back as many first rounders for as many years Garrett is in the league, deal. Otherwise, no thanks. I don't want to drop to 10.

Again if there is a QB out there good enough for a QB hungry team to Sell the Farm for...why on earth would we not stand pat and take said QB ourselves.
Not saying we will or not...All I know is that if we Know we got a Franchise QB in this draft. We can assume we will take him. If we do not...then Nobody picking in the top 5 should be expending a draft pick for Said QB.

jmho Because RG3 showed what can happen. Just because a team is willing to sell the farm it doesn't make the player they're buying worth the expenditure. Ask Washington if they'd like their picks back and see what they say.

well there you have it Trub will not make it past pick 10. That means we can't get a decent QB at 12 because he is the only decent QB worthy of a first round pick IMHO and yes I know some of you don't share that view but I don't care =)

On the flip side it might start a bidding war for the first pick if spots 2 or 3 had their eyes on Trub. It would be funny if we moved to pick 2 or 3 and still got garrett

I don't think anyone can say where that line is until after a few years. But the offer I threw out is where I would start giving it serious contemplation.

To me, the entire point of trading down is to accumulate assets in order to have more cracks at getting quality players (because the draft is a crapshoot).
Myles Garrett is that quality player. You already know it.
With that said, if the Bills were willing to massively overpay in order to trade up, you'd have to consider it. Last year the Titans traded 1, 113, and 177 for 15, 43, 45, 76 and a 2017 first and a third.
We'd have to get more than that because there was no Myles Garrett to pass on in the 2016 draft (Bosa might be that type of player, but not many thought he was pre-draft).
I don't believe this rumor, but if it is true it seems like the Bills GM is swinging wildly to try and save his job (like Fisher did last year with the Rams).

There comes a time when you have to STOP trading down, and START drafting impact players. How many years have we been "smart" by trading down? How has that worked out for us. All those picks, down the drain. We need to keep where were at and take BPA. Not only there but at #12 also and in the second round. Time to draft smart for a change.

Dareus, Glenn, and #10 and you've got a deal, lol. I don't know. Dareus' off the field stuff seems to be piling up, and I think I'd rather have more of a penetrator beside Shelton. Aaron Williams is a player I wouldn't mind getting from them, though he's had his own issues. Mostly injury I think. I'd rather just take Garrett. Cordy Glenn would be nice, though.

What is the point of this when discussing trading down with Buffalo (who would want to draft Trubisky)? These mock drafts never make any sense. Well is your draft philosophy to garner a million late round picks or to solidify them into top tier picks. There are arguments both ways but I prefer to solidify. My original trade was with Buffalo and then I used their trade bait to move back up. Obviously instead of trub there would be something else but I couldn't resist ^^ Still it shows you can trade down and still possibly land Garret.

Im not sold on Garret at #1.
I would be ok trading down 2-4 spots and taking Watson or DeShone Kizer.
Garret is 6'5 269 pounds he will get MANHANDED in the AFC North just like Kamerion Wimbly and Mingo did.
We have a prior history of drafting DE 1st overall(Courtney Brown) and Brown was a better prospect because he was every bit as good as a rusher as Garret but was also beast against the run....how did that work out for us?
Brown couldn't stay healthy and barely played.
Let some other team take a chance on a light in the rear end DE...he doesn't fit a 4-3 system anyways, he would make a better OLB in a 3-4 system we will no longer run.
I think you trade back a bit and take one of those 2 QB...even if you get Taylor in FE from Buffalo, let that guy sit behind him for a year or 2.
We can fill some good holes on the DL and stuff in Fa and the later parts of the draft.
Garret has bust i can not stay healthy written all over him. JJ Watt is 295 pounds...269 will not cut it in the NFL not in this division he will get mandled and him putting 25 pounds will take away his best assets....he belongs in a 3-4 hybrid system where he can play more of a LB role...he isn't a 4-3 DE no matter how much you want him to be...Draft him if you want to get the ball ran down your throat every play.

Yes im serious I'd take JJ Watt over Garreet anyday and Watt has multiple 20+ sack seasons...JJ Watt also was 295 pounds on draft day http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/j.j.-watt?id=2495488he is too light in the arse at 269 pounds at his height...he is going to manhandled....if he was 285 or so i wouldn't have an issue, but his frame doesn't look good to gaining weight it will slow him down and take away what he does good. He is a 3-4 OLB in the NFL,and he would be a GREAT one. he could get down to 260-265 easily and be a beast...but he is no 4-3 DE... The Ravens, Steelers, and Bengals all have relaly good running games...Miles isn't going to help us against the run as a light in the rear end DE.

Terrell Suggs was 262 pounds at the combine and he's huge. Michael Johnson, who is 6'7", was like 260 at the combine. Von Miller was 246. Vic Beasley was 246. Garrett has terrific size for a speed rusher.

He is an OLB preferably a 3-4 OLB...get him on a team that would play him that way and he will be great player, sadly Cleveland isn't it.

I think you're confusing a DE in a 3-4 style (Watt) with a DE in a 4-3 (all the names I mentioned in my post)...is that right?

Also there is no way we're running a cookie cutter 4-3, Williams will run what he thinks maximizes the players he has, you give him Myles, he's going to build around that.

JJ Watt is 295 pounds...269 will not cut it in the NFL not in this division he will get mandled and him putting 25 pounds will take away his best assets....he belongs in a 3-4 hybrid system where he can play more of a LB role...he isn't a 4-3 DE no matter how much you want him to be...Draft him if you want to get the ball ran down your throat every play. manhandled? lol he's 270lbs, he's bigger than all of pittsburghs linebackers, they seem to do pretty well in AFCN the key word is LINEBACKERS those LB are not on the LOS being bulldozed by a 300+ pound OG or OT...the Steelers have big DL to keep the OL off them Garret won't have that luxury as a DE Im sure we will draft him anyways, and half way though the season folks will see what i said...he is not big enough to be a NFL 4-3 DE. He is an OLB preferably a 3-4 OLB...get him on a team that would play him that way and he will be great player, sadly Cleveland isn't it. yeah i get i put linebackers, but i also listed a bunch of 4-3 DE's

I'd rather have a Qb and i believe there are a few good ones in this draft... [quote] http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/...he-senior-bowl/I think Hue Jackson really really likes Watson, I also think Watson will bea game changer here...he will have an RG3 type of rookie year, but won't have the injuries and fall offs, he could be the guy who turns things around here...he is very talented and very smart and i would not be upset taking a flier on him, even #1 overall.

That's ridiculous. Terrell Suggs was 262 pounds at the combine and he's huge. Michael Johnson, who is 6'7", was like 260 at the combine. Von Miller was 246. Vic Beasley was 246. Garrett has terrific size for a speed rusher. Danielle Hunter 12.5 sacks this year was 252 pounds at the combine and was listed by Minny as 240 pounds at 6'6" this year. Cliff Avril, 6'3", 260# Cam Wake, 6'3" 269# Khalil Mack, 6'3", 247# This is the cream of the crop. Garrett has elite size as a 4-3 end.

back to topic though, no way do i trade to 10, it would have to take players and a mike ditka haul.. eventually you have to stop trading out of impact picks and actually pick players that help your team now
