The stinkin Internet! It is nothing but trouble, it caused things like the Arab Spring, fake news, Hillary's demise, riots at America's Malls, loss of our industry secrets to China, and many fights here at DTalkers!

As a balance to this feel good story, the Limited Stores based in Ohio is closing all 250 of their retail stores. Not sure exactly how many people that means will lose jobs but just figure 10 per store and you can do that math.
Sears is closing tons of stores and Macy's is closing a bunch of stores.
I think it's all on Trump LOL (no, not really) I hear it now..... Who cares. Those are all those part time, crappy low paying jobs anyways. Truth is, some if not most are probably part time and no, they don't pay much above Minimum wage. But they do matter. But there is always store managers and asst managers that are full time. There are all those people at HQ that support the stores and the warehouses that keep the stores full of merchandise. Now those are all full time jobs and most if not all will be gone. They'll go with internet fulfillment centers rather than warehouse jobs that generally pay better. And don't forget the services that each store hires. Like custodial and facility repair companies. This is a lot bigger than a couple of thousand part time jobs. Lots bigger.

Wonder how much less than his secretary he'll wind up paying in taxes as a result?

Why wouldn't I?
I've made my position painfully clear on how I feel about big money in politics.
I don't understand why that's even a question.

Trump signs executive order aiming to slash regulationsPresident Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday aiming to kickstart campaign pledges to slash regulations. The measure will expand regulatory review with the goal of revoking two regulations for every new one put forward, according to a senior administration official. Under the order, federal agencies will propose rules they want to drop and the White House will review them. With the order, Trump followed through on repeated campaign promises to cut rules that he said hold back the economy. -How refreshing, a President who does what he said he would do! Thanks Mr.President.

Just out of curiosity, do you think President Trump will EVER actually engage congress and begin working toward getting things passed in a way that is debated, accepted, and voted upon.(y'know, like how our government is supposed to work).. or do you think he's just going to sit in his office and sign executive orders for the next 4 years? Because the right had a cow and called Obama a coward and a non-leader whenever he used executive orders to get things through..

Trump is a man of action and does not sit on his thumbs like the rest of our Government. He is signing Executive orders to get the ball rolling on legislation he wants.
It is up to Congress to now build on what he has started. This could take a long time. Some will be accepted as is, some rejected, and most of it tweaked by Congress.
Once Trump has his legislative proposals started thru Executive order and into the hands of Congress, he will be free to concentrate on taking back America's streets, from the scum who now rule them, with existing laws that only need someone to enforce.

The next recession now appears further away, thanks to Trump, economist saysRecession risk has declined and the economy's current expansion period will last at least a year longer than was forecast before the U.S. election, according to a new Deutsche Bank analysis of a survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Deutsche Bank's chief international economist, Torsten Slok, concluded this showed the election of Donald Trump effectively reduced recession risk in the near term and extended the economy's expansion period. Seven months before the U.S. election the expectation was that the economy would experience a recession within 11 months; the current expectation from market participants is 27, according to Slok's analysis of the survey. "So using those numbers we made some very simple assumptions and came to the conclusion that the market at the moment sees that we are at least two years away from the next recession, and this is very important because before the election with Donald Trump, the market was saying that we were about a year away, and the fact that we have pushed that out so much is certainly a very strong indicator that we are away from a recession quite a bit here. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/30/the-next-...omist-says.htmlThanks Bud

For somebody who consistently quotes history and longs for the good old days and chides others for not knowing where this country came from... you should know that our country was never intended to more particularly quickly. In fact, it was designed to move slowly to avoid the types of knee-jerk reactions we have seen recently.. and that goes back to some of what Obama did. If Trump viewed the refugee thing as something posing imminent danger, then fine, sign the order and hash it out later... but he has signed almost 20 of them. I don't think there were 20 imminent threats.

It is going to take a long time for these things to get thru Congress, as our Forefathers had intended. Trump is getting the ball rolling so he can then move on to other important issues like ISIS, returning law and order to the streets of our cities, dealing with gangs of illegal aliens and homegrown gangs who rule our streets. The laws to do these things already exist and only need to be enforced.
Trumps immigration order worked exactly as planned. 325,000 foreigners came thru our airports and 109 were detained and rechecked for OUR safety. Within hours, they were all cleared and released.
It is the Presidents job to keep Americans safe and that is what he is doing. Those questionable returnees were double checked and then allowed to reenter.
What you and others don't seem to realize is that immigration and travel by foreigners, into the United States, IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT!

What is written on the statue of liberty is an ideal, not a law.. it's also almost 150 years old. Wasn't part of it ruled constitutional? Didn't some green card holders have to leave the country or weren't allowed to board their fights coming here? Exactly as planned, huh.

Wasn't part of it ruled constitutional? Do you mean UN-constitutional? The answer to both is no. It would have to go to the Supremes for that I think.

It’s not clear where Trump got this figure, but the Department of Homeland Security announced that in the first 23 hours alone, 375 people were detained and of the 325,000 foreigners traveling into the US how many came from the countries banned?

I don't think it was fully ruled unconstitutional, I know a judge put a hold on some of it until they could review it further. And there have been reports of some isolated incidences of people not being allowed back into the country who probably should have been allowed to sail right though... a little bit of that is to be expected, hopefully those issues will be worked out quickly...

How enjoyable it must be for a large corporation in America these days. If you say nothing about a political issue, the Left proclaims you must agree with it then by your silence. If you say something, one side or the other hates you.
There is now a Conservative boycott starting up on Star Bucks!

I don't know if I agree with the first part but I definitely agree with the second part. I have felt that the left is more likely to condemn you for NOT speaking up and say that you are only concerned about the bottom line in your silence than to claim large corporations as their own if they remain silent. It's kind of like athletes, especially black athletes.. the left is always clamouring for them to use their high profile to speak out and become politically involved. The assumption in that, of course, is that the left believes that they will all speak out on behalf of the issues the left wants them to address. I'm pretty sure that if any of them came forward with a more conservative message, they would quickly be told to shut up.

Agreed. Both sides do it equally. Republicans will lambast actors on the left, but will give Clint Eastwood free range to be equally vitriolic. No one wants to talk anymore. They just want to be right in today's world. I really don't know why. I am very complicit in it as well.
