So he will be back sometime in late July ... How far does he fall?

Dang good question, how far he would fall.
I wonder what better teams can afford to draft depth/heir-apparent to a starting job in the first round.

Agreed. He might miss a few games, but a few games out of a 4 or 5 year contract...he's not likely falling far unless there's a bad report from the surgeon

He could end up at #12 and if he does I hope we take him ...

Can't fall pass the Browns. Yes, because we have time to wait until he is 100% healed. It could be a case of wishful thinking, but prospects fall due to injury year in and year out.

Really? How many games has he played at State? Now he'll MISS EVERYTHING leading up to the draft. I'd about GUARANTEE he's there at 12. And we need him. Watch.

I don't think that it is a given. There are many teams picking in the top ten who are more than a season from being relevant, like us. But I would like to see that scenario play out too.

Really? How many games has he played at State? Now he'll MISS EVERYTHING leading up to the draft. The games are more important than the combine and pro day. His talent has not changed. Also, he is not going to miss "EVERYTHING." He will still be able to meet with teams, which, to me, would be just as important as all the other stuff.

If by miracle Hooker fell to 10 i'd trade up to go get him. Hell I might try even if he fell to 8. This kid is spectacular at a spot we sorely need.

I would risk it. Just not sure how bad it is for sure.

At first when I heard "labrum" I thought "oh no, a rotator cuff injury" (shoulder), which can be a big deal in a sport like football. But this is a hip issue - anybody know anything about hip/labrum injuries? Will it affect speed or agility, possibly long-term?

My labrum surgery healed pretty fast and mine was in my early 30s so I am sure a young kid like this can heal fast. Even if we bench him a year so what. This kid has so much talent it's worth it. In the name of rehab we can then give him all kinds of specialized training and have him beasting out when he is ready to go.

What a stupid plan.. drafting a guy high with injury history and the possibility that he might have to sit out a year.. for goodness sake man, he could turn out like Jadeveon Clowney...

No but IIRC he couldn't go at the combine nor the Senior bowl because he had a knee injury.

All indications are, this is a 4-6 month full recovery period. That would mean he will be ready for training camp. If he is there at #12, they need to have a card ready to turn in, just in case the runner trips and drops it and they need the extra 14 minutes to find it under the table. Don't even think about this.
Honestly, I'm not sold he will last to #12, even with this issue.

Hell Jaylon Smith went in the second round and I could swear some people questioned if he'd ever actually be able to play football again.

If he is there at 12 they better run that ticket in =) If we landed Garrett and Hooker in the same draft then that is a successful draft no matter what the rest of it ends up as.

And the prospective of another knee surgery dropped Myles Jack a round as well. I think we'll know more at the combine, during his evaluations.
