Plantar fasciitis.

Very painful. As soon as I would think I was about healed, it kept flairing up.

I went for a 3 mile walk this morning and all is good. My hope is it stays that way and come March 1 I can get back to walking 6 days a week and logging a minimum of 40 miles a week.

I was in that groove for the last 3-4 years...well, not last year. Sun,Mon, Tues, Wed were 6 mile days. Thursday a 8 mile day, Friday was the off day or make-up day, and Saturday was a 8 mile day.

My surgery has been postponed. frown

Went in for blood work and EKG tests for the pre-op anesthesia stuff and I have some other freaking issues going on. They have to be cleared up before they will perform the surgery on my knee.

Kind of a bummer.

With my son's issues, I really don't have time to deal w/my own physical problems. I might just have to blow everything off.

It's important to make sure that all of those issues are cleared up before they open up a knee. It's better to get them cleared up before, so you don't suffer major problems later. I continue to pray for you, and for your son as well.

If your manhood is getting in the way just do what I do. Throw it up over your shoulder to keep it out of the way. Problem solved blush

This is somewhat normal, or normal enough that it isn't a unique situation. Better to be safe than sorry, though I understand that delays are a pain in the butt.

Maybe it'll be delayed until April 27th so you get stuck on the couch during the draft smile

"...logging a minimum of 40 miles a week."

This is long distance jogging distances. (2,000 miles/year)(~ 6.5 miles/day)

You either must be jogging or walking ~ 2 hours/day.

If this is what you meant, that's great. I'm impressed.

I'd call it athletic.

I don't know about the athletic part, but I walk anyhere from 1.5 hours minimum to 3.5 hours on my longer walks. Seriously, to me, it is hardly worth it to walk for less than 1.5 hours. Seven miles is a stock 2 hour walk.....give or take 2-3 minutes

I have short legs, 28 inseam leaves long pants. It is hard to pace out much better than 16.5-17 minute miles.

If you know Johnny Cash's song "I Walk the Line"...that is the pace I try to keep. I humm it a lot of the way to keep in step. "Because you're mine, I walk the line".

I will add, that isn't 12 months a year. Come October and Cleveland travels, the numbers drop, and then the cold weather sets in for 2 months. I had been averaging aound 1500 miles a year before my heel issue.

I still plan to take it easy for a while. My hope is to log 1200 miles this year.

March 1. The day I start back at it. Set that alarm for 4:20am and be walking at 5am until 6:30 minimum. I have to do it if I want to live another 15-25 years, assuming the Lord doesn't.

It could end tomorrow. I am at the age you know it can go south pretty quick.

He's been throwing up a lot and lost quite a bit of weight, but his spirits are good. He just bought a new truck, discussing career moves, wanting to build a new deck and other home improvements, etc. That speaks to him believing in a healthy future.

Thanks for asking.

Thanks arch...........but, we don't know the answers to those questions yet.

Like I said, he has one more round of chemo treatments and he will then be evaluated AFTER that.

We're hoping for the best..........
