#SafeSpaceNews Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, said Monday that the administration will continue using the term "fake news" until the media understands that their "monumental desire" to attack the President is wrong.
"There is a monumental desire on behalf of the majority of the media, not just the pollsters, the majority of the media to attack a duly elected President in the second week of his term," Gorka, a former Breitbart editor who also holds a PhD in political science, told syndicated conservative radio host Michael Medved.
"That's how unhealthy the situation is and until the media understands how wrong that attitude is, and how it hurts their credibility, we are going to continue to say, 'fake news.' I'm sorry, Michael. That's the reality," he added.
Trump and his staff have repeatedly used the term "fake news" to discredit reporting on the presidential administration from mainstream outlets such as CNN and The New York Times, often offering no evidence to back up their disputes with those outlets' stories. Earlier in the interview, Gorka was asked by Medved whether he would acknowledge that the administration's controversial statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day was "at least questionable in being the first such statement in many years that didn't recognize that Jewish extermination was the chief goal of the Holocaust."
Gorka replied by calling criticism of the statement "asinine," arguing that it was motivated by the media's desire to attack Trump.
"It's a Holocaust remembrance statement," Gorka said. "No, I'm not going to admit it. Because it's asinine. It's absurd. You're making a statement about the Holocaust. Of course it's about the Holocaust because that's what the statement's about. It's only reasonable to twist it if your objective is to attack the President."
Gorka also sparred with a caller who contended that "every time you call everything fake news, it just turns everyone except your hardcore fans off." "Not everything's fake news," the caller added.
"You know, I would beg to differ," Gorka shot back. "Every single organ that generates these kinds of stories comes from the same clique of media organs that predicted that Hillary (Clinton) would win and that Brexit wouldn't occur. I know what fake news is. And it's coming from those organizations. It's time that you yourself understood that as well."

Anybody or anything that disagrees with Trump is name called, dismissed and labeled by this administration. That seems to be all they know how to do. From Hollywood, to the media to judges. Everyone who disagrees with Trump is under attack. If it weren't so sad it would be funny.
Meanwhile, them and their media sources attacked Obama from day one.

Everyone who disagrees with Trump is under attack. If it weren't so sad it would be funny. The Media just needs to dial it all back and not cover Trump tweets and stop asking intimidating and personal type of attack questions at WH press conferences. Not sure why the press can't see that this is a front to distract them and the general public away from the "Muslim immigration ban", Syria, Isis, the "Wall", Australia, Mexico, Russia, UK, and a host of other substantial issues going on in the World that a world leader needs to be concentrating on.

The wife and I have made a game out of watching the News and finding the anti Trump bias. We have had a lot of good laughs.
Just the other night they were reporting on something trump did and they went on and on, talking to the reporter who brought us the story. I don't remember what it was about but as the story progressed, I turned to the wife and asked, did she just say that Obama has done the same thing for years and it was sorta standard procedure? Just then the guy at the desk said so Trump has taken it upon himself to do this new thing? To which the reporter said, "Believe it or not yes!" "Same as it always was."
The wife says, "Same as it always was?" Thats when we broke out laughing!

So people who question him or disagree with him are all bias? You do realize that's the very definition of bias don't you. lmao

You probably don't recognize it as it would cut into your gripe time.

No, I see what you're saying. But if you can't see both sides, I believe you have no sense of open mindedness.
Saying 3 to 5 million illegals voted and that's why Hillary won the popular vote. There's zero evidence of that. Look at the claims of Conway about the Greenville massacre. There's a pretty long list here of quotes with zero substance or flat out lies.
I stand up for Trump on some things. The wall, the attack just carried out in Yemen just to name a couple. I'm for extreme vetting. So it's not like I try to pick him apart about everything.
I also won't ignore the other side of things.

Well now that the Democrats stayed up all night trying to filibuster Trumps pick for education secretary, even picking up 2 Republicans to their side, DeVos was confirmed as education secretary as Pence casts the historic tie-breaking vote. I just don't get how the Democrats can't understand this fact... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-INCwFxeVVY

I just don't get how the Democrats can't understand this fact... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-INCwFxeVVY What qualifies her to be Education Secretary... I mean other than she pledged a bunch of money, tried just about everything under the sun to thwart any improvements in the Public education system and has pushed private schools to replace public schools.. She's never taught or attended a public school.. She is a trust fund baby that actually doesn't do a damn thing.. I am not 100% sure, but I think she's aire to the Amway fortune. I'll have to check that later. But this is her business career: Business career
DeVos is chairwoman of the Windquest Group, a privately held operating group that invests in technology, manufacturing, and clean energy. DeVos and her husband founded it in 1989.[22]
DeVos and her husband were producers for a Broadway run of the stage play Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson, in 2012, based on the life of the famous evangelist and featuring a book and lyrics written by Kathie Lee Gifford. The show ran for three weeks, closing in December 2012.[48] Neurocore
Betsy and her husband Dick are chief investors in and board members of Neurocore, a group of brain performance centers offering biofeedback therapy for disorders such as depression, attention deficit disorder, autism, and anxiety.[49][50][51] The therapy consists of showing movies to patients and interrupting them when they become distracted, in an effort to retrain their brains. According to The New York Times, a review of Neurocore’s claims and interviews with medical experts suggest that the company’s conclusions are unproven and its methods questionable.[49] Democratic senators raised concerns about a potential conflict of interest and questioned whether she and her family members would “benefit financially from actions” she could take as education secretary. DeVos announced that she would step down from the company’s board but would retain her investment in the company, valued at $5 million to $25 million.[49][52][53] That's it,,, Nothing of value.. Other than she contributes to republicans. HOW in the hell can anyone say she's qualified to do anything? People pick on George Soros (quite frankly, that's how it should be) but he's at least done many good charitable things around the world.. Something that the DeVos haven't. SHE AIN'T QUALIFIED.

No, I see what you're saying. But if you can't see both sides, I believe you have no sense of open mindedness. Trump lit a fire with some very controversial things he said early in his campaign. He has walked a lot of it back but the media just loves pouring gas on it.. then Trump pours gas on it... then the media does.. and so on. Not only is neither side willing to put it out, they aren't even willing to walk away and let it go out on its own. The media has treated Trump unlike anybody I've ever seen. Some of it deserved, some of it not... But Trump has always gone overboard in calling them out, some of it deserved, some of it not. Somebody in this needs to be professional and act like an adult and I put the majority of that on the President.

I'm not so sure. It seems to me both sides are whining. Trump certainly screams a little louder but he's just as much of a whiney brat as they are.
Much like DC, I expect a little more from a president. Our president has always been upheld to a higher standard..... Except for now.

There's a new sheriff in town, and he's going to do things a little differently. For many years, in both sports and politics, I have heard and read how people have gotten tired of all the politically correct lawyer-speak that does not really tell the audience anything. Trump is different. He will tell you the things that you know are true but don't want to hear, and then he'll tell you again. Where past Presidents would sit there and take the criticism, President Trump will set the record straight. He will speak directly to the American people on social media and beyond. I get it.. some people don't like that. It's going to take some getting used to. Some of you will probably never get used to it. Here's what I think I'm going to get from the Trump Presidency: A better economy, a sense of order in Washington, some policy changes that I agree with and I'm sure some that I won't. I also think I'm going to get some free entertainment along the way from his blustery style and the response from those who can't handle the banter. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrumpDonald J. So, no one finds concern that Trump find any criticism ends up unwarranted? What if Obama routinely attacked FoxNews like Trump is attacking anyone other than FoxNews.

Trump snowflakes.
He needs to grow a pair instead of crying over his treatment in the press. How's he going to deal with the big bad world when he gets his feelings hurt and so upset over CNN and the NYT?

Props to responding, Ted.
Obama found himself quite restrained on FoxNews, and he never went off with daily childish attacks on twitter. I just found two instances where he called them out, but both in response to opinions based on no factual data.
Then again, Trump finds issues with actual facts. Just look at the inauguration crowd madness.
I suppose it exists as confirmation bias on display.

Thanks for showing more.
I think you're allowed to criticize as long as you can bring factual data to the table, and actual facts that support your viewpoint.
That's where I find concern with Trump. Attack all you want, but get your story straight. But, he also believe Obama was born in Kenya. I suppose I expect too much?

Maybe. But I believe your real problem is Trump has an "R" after his name.
You let Obama do and say whatever he wanted, and not a peep out of you. You supported Hillary through all of her blatant lies - not a peep out of you.
Nah, man, your problem is an initial at the end of someones name.

My mind is open but until I can get real News from Media without the slant, honesty from the violent Left and Democrats who care more about America than getting Trump, I will not allow just any garbage in. There is always going to be slant, there has always been slant, because news is reported by people and those people have opinions and it's almost impossible to write a totally objective article when you have opinions on the subject. The problem, as I see it, is that you have varying degrees, you have flat out lying, which is wrong in every case, you have hyperbole and exaggeration of the truth meant to incite excessive emotion in your reader, which is wrong in most cases, then you just have disagreement.. and this is where I think we are having a problem, disagreement isn't fake, it's disagreement and is perfectly acceptable, even within the "news". The other big problem I see is that many people (the President included) are looking at things like late night shows with Conan and that horrible show with Samantha B and other such stuff as "pseudo-news".. and the left will say it's not news, it's entertainment, then in the next breath they will cite John Stewart as a source of their information when he was on the Daily Show... Before we make a determination on what is fake news, first we must make a determination on what qualifies as news.

Do you remember the Wikileaks releases, and the Podesta emails in particular? A lot of people were hoping/expecting some mega-release that would destroy Hillary's campaign. I may have trumped up that angle myself from time to time. That never really came-- they were Podesta's emails and not Clinton's emails, after all.
One thing they did show, over and over again, was the extensive collusion between the Democratic party and a very large amount of mainstream media. They would discuss talking points, members of the Clinton campaign would sometimes get to edit an article before it was released, many members of the media pledged their support to help get Clinton elected and you get the point. I posted some summaries of all this a while back and could probably dig it up again if needed.
Why do you think CNN's Donna Brazile leaked debate questions to the Clinton camp and that station changed Trump's general/benign quotes about profiling to explosive comments about racial profiling? I don't mean that they interpreted his quotes wrong-- they literally changed the quote and reported as if he said that.

Don't forget why he was elected.. it was precisely because he wasn't letting the media and the Left run rough shod and say and do whatever they want unchecked. That is what the GOP establishment had been doing for years and it's exactly what liberals have taken advantage of. Liberals don't respect you when you shut up and take the high road. They view it as a weakness to be exploited. Look at all these posts from our more liberal Dawgs concerned about Trumps tone and language... none of them seem to be concerned about the personal and insulting attacks and hyperbole that are not only false but improper that people like Schumer, Pelosi, Booker, and many others have said about many of his nominees. The Left at large won't say anything about it because they are hoping those on the Right return to their self-imposed double standard. Eventually I think this schtick will get old amongst Trump supporters, but for now people will let it ride until the Left starts acting within the bounds of decency. The Democrat Party could make some solid inroads the next election if they themselves took the highroad and acted in a more civil manner. Problem is, it's not part of their playbook and SOP.

Trump is not only up against the false reporting in America but he has taken on the world of the Globalists and the Elites who have been pushing the New World Order.
The CEO of Zillow was just on CNBC and he said the World Press is reporting that America has banned the immigration of all Muslims.
Trump shakes his head and asks "How does a 120 day suspension of immigration from 7 nations while we fix our vetting system turn into this?

There's a new sheriff in town, and he's going to do things a little differently. Then you, he, or anybody for that matter shouldn't be surprised that a majority of American citizens will probably treat Trump a little differently than all the other sheriffs before him.
