I don't believe that a change in Trump's tone (mean things) would have no effect. Right now he is a flamethrower and belligerent. He could turn it down and have less blowback. But right now he wants to be the BMOC, and that will probably not change. He enjoys the conflict and chaos that he creates.
I think he has turned it down. He was more of a flamethrower (I like that description btw) during the Republican primaries. If you listen to him now, he doesn't really say much that anybody should find too offensive. Then again, I have a very high threshold for what I consider to be offensive.
Besides, there is the whole words versus actions thing. No matter what he says, responding by attacking some random innocent person is never acceptable and we should not lose sight of that.

We were all told that when Trump was elected, violence against Muslims, women, Hispanics, blacks, would escalate because rank and file republicans felt emboldened to do it... there have been incidents but many were proven to be fabricated. Well the left is doing the EXACT SAME THING, they are inciting people to violence and then passively suggesting that they oppose such violence, while still blaming the violence on the right...
Marco Rubio gave a passionate 8 minute speech on the floor of the senate the other day calling for order in the wake of the Republicans shutting down Elizabeth Warren from speaking. It was very well prepared and delivered speech and said exactly what some of us feel.. that if the US Senate cannot be civil in debate, then how can we expect anybody else to be civil... and the comments below it from the people who watched it were nothing but hate-filled, blame, mostly by the left, calling him a hypocrit and saying this is what we deserve..
So sadly, I don't expect it to get better any time soon. Trump is acting like a petulant child with his Twitter and his rants and his not staying on topic. So now being reported that Michael FLynn did in fact talk to the Russians about sanctions in December. Also reported that he lied during confirmation hearings about this and VP Pence implicated as well...

I just did a DawgTalkers search back 3 months and could not find anybody who posted anything from Infowars. Are you imagining things? The search results were mostly about people complaining about Infowars, but I did not find one single link to that site although it's certainly possible I missed them. Forum searches are not as robust as those attained with search engines.
By the way, how you feel about Fox and Breitbart is about how I feel about MSNBC and Huffingtonpost. It's a matter of perspective.

I can't keep track of all the different sites out there other than all the ones you have mentioned have a right-wing bias. Some are higher quality than others. But what does Infowars have to do with wnd?

I personally try to avoid Infowars. It is a little too far 'out there' for my liking. I'm not as familiar with wnd. I thought I had read some good stuff there before but like I said, it's hard to keep track of all the different left and right wing websites.

I don't mind. Actually I would support The Executive order had it not been done in haste. It was written so poorly that it included green card holder and people who already established residency. It was just rushed and not well thought out. From what I've been hearing, they may plan to rewrite it. That would be the smart thing to do.
I don't uphold sanctuary cities, but at this point, the only one who can address it is the GOP. I'm hoping they can find a legal way to withhold federal funding from those cities.
You see, I'm not a "liberal". Neither am I conservative. But that's the mistakes both sides make. They label anyone who doesn't agree with everything they want.

I was watching CNN tonight and their top story was what snl has to say about Trump. And they went on and on about it.
