Trump ticked me off today.

He said he is working on his administrations approach to helping the plight of African Americans in this Country, especially those caught in the inner cities. People he said, have to bolt and gate themselves into their homes and apartments in the afternoon due to the criminal onslaught to come as evening approaches.
He is working with the FBI, Homeland Security, HUD and the Education Department on a plan to overcome 100 years of an ingrained and corrupt system in many of these cities.

Now, after reading all the stuff you guys said about white supremacy, Steve Bannon running the country, Nazis and such, I was caught completely off guard by his statement.

And then a reporter asked if he would meet with the Congressional Black Caucus and HE SAID HE WOULD LOVE TOO!
He asked if she had friends over there and if she could set up the meeting!

Obama handed him:

Soaring stock market

75 straight months of positive job growth, most being full time employment

In October the economic growth was 3.2 percent.

Business admitting that they already planned to invest in America even before trump came along (Ford, Amazon, etc)

And under Obama, as the other presidents before him, the overall violent crime rate continued to fall.

^^^^^ all indisputable facts. Not #alternative facts. Cold hard facts. I watched Fox News the other day and even they said that. So what's he taking credit for?

This is also why it's hard to understand trump supporters and apologist.

Here's another cold hard fact: trump and his supporters were ALL IN bro. ALL IN for the leaks that happened to the dems. Praising Wikileaks, and Trump encouraged, ENCOURAGED foreign nations to hack us during the election season.

All facts.

But now that the leaks are happening to him, he's throwing a temper tantrum during a press conference like a spoiled 8 year old who didn't get his happy meal from McDonald's in the back of moms minivan. And his supporters, who were all in for leaks last year, are now pissed that it's happening to their guy.

^^ all facts.

The truth is that this is guy is not presidential. The truth is that trump is a shady business man, and trump supporters are in denial that they just got played.

So Spiral, don't be surprised. Trump supporters are gonna go down with this ship.

The sad part? Trump sure isn't. Trump is rich. If he even survives all 4 years, he's gonna bounce after 4 and live on a island somewhere. But trump supporters? Already showing signs of Stockholm syndrome.

That's why there's really not much to say anymore. Make some popcorn and watch the show bro. Have your finances in order, cause the recession is coming.

Eight years later, the S&P 500 index has risen to 2,274 points after one of the great bull runs in stock market history. With Obama as president, the U.S. stock market, as measured by the S&P 500, returned 235%, or 16.4% annualized.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/nathanvardi/...e/#1d04a5e87879

The Dow has gone up more than 140% since Obama's inauguration in January 2009.
If you look at how the Dow has done since it hit its low point on March 6, 2009, it's up 210%.

http://money.cnn.com/2017/01/10/investing/obama-stock-market-trump/

Since Obama's first inauguration on Jan. 20, 2009, U.S. equities have surged 12% a year, not counting dividends, in what turned out to be the second-longest bull market in history.
To put that in perspective, those price gains were nearly four percentage points per year more than domestic equities have averaged since the end of World War II. They also compare favorably to the 4.6% annual losses suffered by the S&P 500 index of U.S. stocks under the eight years of Obama's predecessor, President George W. Bush.
Here's one other way to think about it: If during the upcoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump, the stock market were to replicate the success it enjoyed under Obama, rising by a factor of 2.5, then the Dow Jones industrial average -- which currently stands at just under the 20,000 level -- would have to climb all the way up to 50,000.

http://time.com/money/4636241/stock-market-investments-presidents-obama/

During the eight years of President Obama, the Dow jumped 150 percent, or 12.3 percent annually, through Tuesday, according to Bespoke Investment Group. That's the third-best stock market performance since WWII for any president behind only President Clinton's and FDR's triples.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/14/dow-would...nder-obama.html

If you're an investor, there are a lot of people to thank for the second-longest bull market run in history. Perhaps after mentioning people like Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen and S&P 500 CEOs for the support, it would be wise to bring up someone a little more unexpected: President Obama.

In fact, as far as presidents go, he's been one of the most successful in modern history in supporting the growth of the market according to Bespoke Investment Group.

"The reality, though, is that the stock market has done exceptionally well under President Obama," wrote Bespoke in a note out Thursday.

I think swish is saying under Obama it was up (true, as a whole) and you're saying it was flat for a period (looks to be Dec 2014-May 2016), which is also true. From an outsiders perspective, you're both right.

On the 401k comment, maybe I'm the anomaly here, but my 401k nowhere near floundered, and I've been pretty much in the middle of middle class during Bush and Obama. In my opinion, if they just let their 401k sit there without managing it, they've earned bad returns. I looked at it monthly, and adjusted it probably every 2-3 months on average. Even at the worst of the market I was up the whole time.

Anybody that points to today's performance as Trump doing a good job is delusional. Fox news even found fault with him.

And Harward just turned him down for the national security advisor role! What a joke.

Watching the Trump supporters defend him is beginning to look like a zombie movie. The just make the same old noise and head whatever direction the action is moving. Trump has zombified them.

He asked a black journalist if the congressional black caucus were friends of hers! lmao He didn't even know what it was. And she asked about the black agenda he immediately referred to the inner cities. Clueless.

Yes, it was like he personally wanted to yell at the press instead of sending Spicer. It wasted my time and preempted my soap. I am really sick of these daily "Donald Trump News Breaks" that interrupt everything on national TV. People have developed an unhealthy obssession with him.

Trump is the biggest snowflake of them all. Frustrated, stomping his feet and crying about how unfair he and his admin are being treated. Spending so much time bemoaning the "unfair press" and then needing to say they have achieved "incredible progress". His feelings are so hurt by what he reads. Melting in the lights in front of the press.

He went on to say "I don't think there's ever been a president elected who in this short period of time has done what we've done". Well, I guess if you rate chaos, frustration, ill advised and poorly thought out decisions and executive orders, inexperienced people being appointed and the brewing "Russian scandal" that continues to unfold daily then yea....I guess he is right. No, we haven't seen this type of stuff in less than a month!

I agree with Trump. I am nearly 50 years old and the Country is in the worst shape I have seen it since Carter left office. Can only hope Trump does for the Country what Reagan did to fix it.

I was watching some some old Nixon press conferences for a project I'm doing in school.

Trump sounds a lot like him....it was kind of creepy. Nixon blamed the media for leaks as well. Look how that turned out....

And a word from Rush:

Limbaugh: 'This Was One of the Most Effective Press Conferences I Have Ever Seen'

Breitbart

by Jeff Poor

16 Feb 2017

Thursday following President Donald Trump’s press conference to announce his pick for Labor Secretary, Alexander Acosta, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh applauded Trump’s performance on his nationally syndicated radio show.

Limbaugh said while the media still won’t warm up to Trump, it was what his supporters wanted to see, which was a willingness to tout his achievements and take on some of the claims from the media.

“You know it is hard to say — you get caught up in the moment,” Limbaugh said. “But this was one of the most effective press conferences I have ever seen. The press is going to hate him even more after this. Don’t misunderstand. When I say effective, I’m talking about rallying people who voted for him to stay with him. He made a point — ‘What chaos? You’re reporting chaos. We’re not in chaos. We’re a well-oiled machine. We got one of the smoothest running machines in the history of machines. We got one of the best administrations in the history of administrations.'”

“And he rattled off the achievements they’ve had here that the media is not reporting because they’re so focused on whether or not Trump worked with Russia to screw Hillary out of the presidency,” he continued. “And he was reassuring the people he’s on top of everything. Nothing has changed. Everything he campaigned on, he is doing. All he is doing is fulfilling campaign promises. And of course, the Democrats don’t like him. Of course, the media don’t like him. It isn’t going to stop him.”

A month into presidency, Trump prepares for a campaign rally

https://www.yahoo.com/news/month-presidency-trump-prepares-campaign-rally-172448572--politics.html

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is holding a campaign rally Saturday in politically strategic Florida — 1,354 days before the 2020 election.

The unusually early politicking follows a pattern: Trump filed his paperwork for re-election on Jan. 20, Inauguration Day. By comparison, President Barack Obama didn't make his re-election bid official with the Federal Election Commission until April 2011.

Huge rallies were the hallmark of Trump's presidential campaign. He continued to do them, although with smaller crowds, throughout the early part of his transition, during what he called a "thank you" tour.

The Florida event will be his first such one as president.

"I hear the tickets — you can't get them," Trump said Thursday during a meeting with lawmakers. "That's OK, that's better than you have too many."

Trump responds well to the supportive crowds, who often chant, cheer and applaud enthusiastically when he speaks. The rallies serve a practical purpose by enabling his campaign to continue building a list of supporters. To attend, people must register online, giving their email address and other personal information that the campaign can use to maintain contact and raise money.

Trump's upcoming evening event is set for an airport hangar in Melbourne, Florida, and it comes as he makes another weekend trip to what he calls his "Winter White House," his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach.

Trump also said he would play golf this weekend with Ernie Els, a South African professional golfer. It will be his Trump's third consecutive weekend at Mar-a-Lago.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the rally is "being run by the campaign." It follows an official trip Friday to South Carolina, where Trump will visit a Boeing facility in North Charleston.

Spicer and others at the White House have not responded to repeated questions about why Trump's embryonic campaign is organizing this rally, or about who will pay for the event and transportation to and from it. Presidents regularly hold large campaign-style events to build support for their policies. Those events are often considered part of their official duties and organized by the White House.

Michael Glassner, executive director of Trump's campaign committee, also did not respond to questions.

Trump's campaign is running the event because Trump does not want to spend taxpayer dollars on it, a person close to him said. The person requested anonymity to discuss private conversations.

Although Trump is getting started far earlier than his predecessors, it's common for presidents to combine political and governing events into the same trip. When that happens, the campaign picks up the tab for part of the trip and taxpayers for the rest.

Trump's campaign account had more than $7.6 million in the bank at the end of the year, according to fundraising reports. He's continued raising money postelection by selling popular merchandise, such as the ubiquitous red "Make America Great Again" ball caps.

On Thursday, as the president wrapped up a confrontational press conference with the media — during which he repeatedly referred to coverage as "unfair" and "fake news" — one of Trump's campaign accounts emailed a "media survey" to his supporters.

The 25 multiple-choice questions included: Do you believe that the mainstream media has reported unfairly on our movement? Do you believe that our Party should spend more time and resources holding the mainstream media accountable?

After clicking through the survey, there's a prompt to donate money.

I thinking you are referring to Cummings... I think.. Anyway, the leader of the black caucus said that nobody contacted him about a meeting with the President.

I think you are listening to Brietbart and Infowars too much

Please don't tell me that he doesn't lie... He said he won 306 Electoral votes, the most by any president ever... When called on it that Obama won 365 votes he said he was referring to republicans and he had to be corrected again that Bush won 426 Votes..

His response, well, I was given that number so I don't know that's what I was told.

His entire campaign has been like that, things he was told, so I'm told, I've heard, I'm hearing etc etc..

The man is a pathological liar..

You are wrong as usual. I listened to what Trump said. Not Brietbart and Infowars. You apparently didn't listen to the Presser yourself.

He also said they had reached out to Cummings a couple of times with no response. He said Cummings was probably told by lightweight Schumer that it would not be good, politically, to meet with the President. He is looking to meet with the Congressional Black Caucus now.

It is a shame when your elected officials would rather play politics with Black lives than actually work to help those they represent.
