This is a thread I wanted to make on here for a minute. A thread that is solely focused on prospects. Top prospects, low prospects, short prospects, tall prospects, fat prospects, skinny prospects, this thread is for all prospects. Leave your game theory and team needs at the door. This thread is only to talk about the player's game and skill set. So let's start.

Someone that has really intrigued me as of late is Garett Bolles out of Utah. He's 6'5, 300 lbs and 24 years of age. But the kid has great athleticism. He does great in pulls and he's able to get to the second level with ease, usually before the ball carrier can get the ball. However, Bolles doesn't do an exceptional job at getting his hands on someone at this level. A major concern with him is that he cannot stay on his feet. He often plays on his knees as he has difficulty maintaining balance throughout his blocks. He's wont to hold, but places his hands inside and hides it pretty well. This leads to him turning linemen to the side instead of being able to drive them downfield. I think if he's able to get his body to fill out right, that he could be an all pro. The kid can certainly play the tackle position. Especially in today's NFL.

What are some prospects you guys are liking?

I still hope we look seriously at Derek Rivers, DE, from YSU ...... and Davis Webb, QB, Cal. (not to start on day 1, but to develop.)

kaaya is okay, but not before like round 4 IMO. He's got a long way to go

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I like Webb too. Middle round developmental QB. Plus arm, quick release showed well in transition from spread to under center at Senior Bowl.

Adoree Jackson is my favorite player in the draft. I think he is a Devin Hester level return man and could be at least league average on offense or as a corner. He is an Olympic level athlete.

Corn Elder CB- I like him in round 4...feisty reminds me of Buster Skrine

Jourdan Lewis CB- late round 2? Stays with his receiver, shorter arms though...being a wolverine he reminds me of Leon Hall.

Chris Godwin WR- round 3/4...He reminds me of Frank Sanders...if anyone remembers that dude lol

Charles Walker DT- perhaps a round 4/5 guy...excellent core and body...pursues nicely...concussion concern, opted to not come back to team to prepare for draft...

Hassan Riddick LB- late round 2? probably go higher due to buzz and his motor... plays all over, a little sloppy and raw...but tempting if he comes along...then again is he the next leVar Fisher (whom was a very active LB back in like 02 I remember watching...drafted in round 2 as he built alot of buzz...but never caught on in the league

Jabrill Peppers SS/LB- top of round 2 possibly...More of a SS...has some way to go...but has alot of skills you look for...more of an athlete specimen vs complete player...however could bust

Taylor Mouton RT- round 3? Liked the guy prior to the bowl game...Moves well and holds up well

Rueben Foster LB -will go in the early portion of the draft...plays at 100%, fires his way through

Budda Baker FS- round 2 guy...small, but I think if he was 6'0 200lbs he'd be right up there with Jamal Adams/Hooker for top safety prospect...makes plays and sees the field well....very high energy player.

I hate the QB class...would rather have as some mentioned Kaaya or a Webb in round 4/5 vs Mitch, Kizer, Watson in round 1...

Here are the best day 2 prospects I can find.

Dan Feeney OG Indiana. 4 year starter at Indiana and two time all american. Has anchored a line for the Hoosiers that paved the way for 2 different 1,000 rushers. He also went an entire season without surrendering a sack. He showed some versatility playing his last 5 games a Right Tackle for the Hoosiers because of an injury to their right tackle. When I watch film on Feeney I think Joe Thomas of Guards. He is the best OLineman in this draft. Only reason he will not be drafted in round 1 is he plays guard and not tackle. Would be a great pick for the Browns at #33.

Carlos Watkins DT Clemson. An athletic big man at Defensive tackle. Best suited as a 3 tech where he excels getting penetration. Has shown the ability to play the run but he relies on his burst and can be overpowered in the run game. He can really collapse a pocket and pressure a QB from the interior. If the Browns do what they should do and draft Myles Garrett first overall. Having Watkins at DT next to him on passing downs will give O Coordinators nightmares. They will have to double Garrett and Watkins has the ability to blow by Lineman with his athletic ability for a man his size.

Raekwan McMillion MLB Ohio. I am not a Buckeye fan so don't say this is a homer pick I actually despise the Buckeyes. McMillion has a ton of upside. I do not see as much separation between him and Rueben Foster who is predicted to go middle of the 1st round. McMillion is still very young only 21 years old and is technically sound with side line to side line speed. Hs great instincts for the position. Can play all 3 downs against the run and pass. If selected by the Browns at either #33 or #52 he could play middle linebacker here for well over 10 years at a high level.

Ethan Pocic C LSU - Great size for the position and a very good IQ for the position. A 3 year starter for LSU with versatility he has actually played Tackle and Guard early in his college career. Recorded 216 knockdown blocks during his college career. Not a great athlete but pulls well in the run game and identifies his blocks quickly. Strong at the point of attack against bull rushers up the middle. Strong, intelligent, and good instincts he would be the perfect replacement for Erving at Center for the Browns if he is selected at #52 or #65 for the Browns.

I think Feeney is the best Oline player in the draft....very stout and sound

I'm curious CHSDawg, do you think he, Bolles, can kick inside to play guard or center? I haven't watched much on the OLineman yet.

cfrs15, what about moving him to offense exclusively? Maybe in the slot or like how KC uses Tyreek Hill?

One guy who just keeps impressing the more I watch him is Donnel Pumphrey, I know he's a very small RB but if he can show that he can return punts or kickoffs, I could see a Darren Sproles like role for him.

The Tyreek Hill role might be Adoree Jackson's best use (without the beating of his pregnant girlfriend of course). I don't know if he is strong enough to play corner. Just get the ball in his hands and let the magic happen.

I think drafting a Center should be high on the teams priority list ... Here are the top 3 Centers in the 2017 draft, all three played 4 years in College, and all three are projected as 2nd day picks, they are in order of my preference but any one of them would be a great addition to our OL ...

Pat Elflein Ohio State

Tyler Orlosky West Virginia

Kyle Fuller Baylor

I'd much rather take a C in the 4th or 5th. There really isn't a drop-off or clear no1 C this year

Probably not in the power scheme. In a zone scheme I could see him as a nasty left tackle in 5 years though. The kid has that type of athleticism.

In 2015 he has a great game against the Florida Gators. Destroys Marcus Mayes on a double move. He gets the better of that Gators defensive backfield the entire game. The vid is on draftbreakdown. I think there are a lot of really good WR's in this year's class. We should take a flyer on at least one despite our luck last year.

I like Toth (Kentucky) as our latter round flyer on a C.

I'm also high on Kaezee and Douglas as CBs in the mid rounds.

Trey Hendrickson (Flordia Atlantic), Jordan Wills (Kansas) as DEs.

I would love to somehow get Takk McKinley in the 2nd. I think he's a double digit sack guy year in year out in the pros.

A few players later round players that stuck out to me:

Cole Hikutini-Te-Louisville
Ben Boulware-ILB Clemson
Alvin Kumara- RB- Tennessee
Sam Rogers- FB-Va. Tech

I really like him too, but he really does need some patience. He's always going for those big plays. They cost him a lot.

I finally watched some film on Cooper Kupp and boy is he good. He put on a clinic against Oregon two years ago. They could not keep up with him. His routes were so crisp that it's not even like he was cutting, he was swiveling almost. I see why he's so highly rated now.

Kupp will be a great pro reciever. I reckon he goes 2nd round.

This is a good receiving class - Taywan Taylor I like, Zay Jones too. I see us picking a reciever or 2 up despite last year.

I'd love to see us picking up a TE. This class is crazy talented. Someone like Michael Roberts out of Toledo may be there latter rounds too.

Did Malik McDowells draft stock drop for some reason? If I remember correctly, a couple of months ago he was a top 10 guy. Seems like Solomon Thomas jumped him some way, and now McDowell has become an after thought.

I'm not sure that McDowell dropped so much as Thomas climbed. I can see why, but I like McDowell better.

There have been some bad reports about McDowell's work ethic and motivation. Can't speculate on if they are true or not.

Johnathan Allen- bench, jumps, 40 (*10 yd. split), measurements

Derek Barnett- bench, jumps, 40

Solomon Thomas- bench, jumps, 40 (*10 yd. split), measurements

Myles Garrett- likely pick, so I'll keep an eye on.

Montravious Adams- how does he look in shorts? Putting in time or super floppy? Drills, lateral movement

Pretty much all the DBs (especially field drills)

The small school TEs (mainly Shaheen and Roberts)

It sounds like most of the QBs will throw, so I'll probably watch that, too. See who looks comfortable with the footwork.

I'll probably record all of it and see if anything stands out and then go back to the game tape.

Two things that I am going to be interested in that are going to sound stupid but:

Derek Barnett's arm length. His arms look short to me. I think that could cause him problems in the pros fighting off blockers and keeping them away from him.

Mitch Trubisky's hand size. We saw the "ref fumble" in his bowl game. Seems that shouldn't happen unless he has pretty small hands. If they are on the small side not a problem but there is a threshold. And no I do not want to get into a hand size debate. We had way too much of that last year and I will not participate in further discussion of hand size.

I'm excited for this combine...but then again I always am. I've been meaning to attend for the past 3 years but something always comes up with work.

Anyhow.....
I'm looking forward to seeing the explosion numbers from the defenders.

Specificially...Carl Lawson, Takk McKinley and Knalphabet the tall DE from the small school can't think of it right now

also want to see how some of my 'sleepers' perform especially: Jake Repolgle DL, John Johnson S I'm really curious about him because he moves well enough and if he runs fast enough he might switch to CB from S

I'm curious about Mike Williams, I think he has decent long straight line speed but I wonder about his explosion and his ability in and out of breaks

I'm curious about the speed of Desmond King and Cordrea Tank's speed

I wonder what is going to happen w/ JuJu will his numbers vault him into the conversation w/ Mike Williams?

I think Ryan Anderson is gonna put up some eye popping numbers and could vault him up

I wonder if my guy Eddie Jackson is gonna be able to participate in full, he's another "sleeper" (I know hard to call a prospect from Bama a sleeper) he doesn't get talked about much

Lastly I'm looking at Jordan Legett and Art Scott's 40 and explosion numbers

I want to watch how the ball comes out of the QBs hands side-by-side rep-for-rep,

I thought I read somewhere that Replogle wasn't gonna pursue a career in football? Did he change his mind.

I think King may well have to move inside to safety because of concerns regarding his speed but man he's a good football player. I'd love to pick up two of Budda Baker, Desmond King, Sidney Jones in the 1st 2 rounds.

Garret, Jones, Baker and Brantley would instantly re-make the defense and give us our edge rusher, 3-Tech, playmaking safety and a legit, shutdown cover CB.

Came across this guy in Daniel Jeremiah's twitter feed. He looks a lot like Darren Sproles in his prime. Could be a sleeper to keep an eye on.
