I think they tried to trade for him.

Why wouldn't Dallas of taken the offer then?

Maybe they wanted Williams to be able to choose where he goes? I am not sure.

I think Williams ends up on the Cavs, I just wanted to point out that the Jazz had interest in him and could claim him if they wanted.

because they need 5pgs...4 just isn't quite enough

I can't wait until Simmons finally gets on the floor. I think he's going to be the next big thing in the NBA and his style of basketball is going to be so much fun to watch.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

the 76'ers should be banned from the lottery. they get these players, some get injured, but they trade them away, like Noel.

do they have any intention on trying to make a good team and get to the playoffs?

They were playing pretty well before Embiid got hurt again.

My guess is that Simmons could play at some point this season, but they are being overly cautious.

Hinkie had the right idea with the team. They have two very good young players and a ton of draft assets. Colangelo is going to kill their future.

Man, I really hope we get Williams. He is a really good player. And he wouldn't just be the backup PG. The Cavs could play him and Kyrie together that is fairly formidable.

Getting Williams would be HUGE for the Cavs. I know he has battled some injuries this year, but he would make our team so much better. It's like a miracle.

I bet Ben Simmons could play tomorrow if they really wanted. I heard his agent, at the start of the year wanted Simmons to sit out the entire year to heal. 76ers thought he could come back by March. So I've seen Simmons at DBC Fitness (The same place LeBron, Wade, Butler, Jordan Poyer, everyone, and their mommas too train at) and he looked fine in some of the explosive workouts I saw posted. 76ers probably just realized that there's no point in playing everyone if they're gonna put Okafor and Embiid on the court together again.

yeah, i'd bet they're being very cautious with him. no use risking him right now

Man, what an awesome acquisition.

I was getting annoyed that we hadn't addressed the PG position earlier. Now, I am damn glad we didn't.

Williams is far superior to anyone else we could have acquired.

Yeah, he doesn't have the finish moves Kyrie does when driving to the rim.

He can't do anything at this level, it's literally like someone brought their little brother for a pickup game

We'd be better off playing liggins for defense and size

Yeah, I don't get why Liggins isn't getting minutes over Felder. He's just not ready for the NBA level at this point. He looks like he's overwhelmed running the offense, and he's a traffic cone on defense. I think he could maybe work his way into a Isiah Thomas kind of player later in his career, but right now he's a liability.

I wish LeBron would have tweeted about Yogi instead of Kay last year... We probably wouldn't have had to trade into the second round either, although I doubt that we needed to do that for Kay.

Kyrie gets into hero mode too often, he came in and just killed the offense. Dribbling up on possession and korver has his hand up with no one around him and kyrie didn't even look at him. If he could trust the offense more I think he'd take the next step to be elite

I am optimistic about the Cavs. They share the ball well and we have a lot of nice role players. The Williams signing will be huge.

I was not a fan of Korver the last couple of years and bad-mouthed him early on, but I gotta admit that he is a positive addition to the team. I was wrong about that one.

I think we have a legit shot to repeat.

I don't know how Korver did before he got here, but it did look like it took him awhile to find his shot once he got here, which he definitely did.

I agree,
We definitely have a shot to repeat, we have a lot of guys that can shoot from beyond the arc this year.

A bit off topic:

I rarely complain about such things, but I have no idea why ESPN replaced Sage Steele as the studio host w/that nasty-looking bottle blond. She looks cheap and witch-like. Sage was very good in that role last year and it's hard for me to even watch the new girl.

Shooters can be a little finicky. Usually they like a certain spot a bit more, they like the ball to be delivered in a certain location, they want the ball to have a certain spin to it, so when they catch and shoot, it feels natural.

Korver's always been a great catch and shoot guy. Now that's he's wide open a lot of the times, he's even more dangerous. I can't remember a better Cavs roster top down. The fact that we have all of these players is kinda absurd, some video game shenanigans in fact.

With or without Lebron Chicago owns us, I don't get it. They aren't that good

We didn't have Lebron, Kevin, or JR tonight.

We were down to 2 starters. Not many teams beat good teams in a situation like that.

I think that Felder is probably going to be the man out if we can bring in Bogut as well.

I still think it'll be McRae, as we've mentioned before. As bad as Felder has looked, at least he gets meaningful minutes and has future potential. He also plays a position that we are pretty thin at, unlike McRae.

Well two things, Chicago isn't a good team and even when we are full strength they consistently beat us, They are something like 6-1 against us

And felder getting booed at the end of the game for dribbling clock out with 99 points. People wanted their damn nuggets..then takes a shot and clank..rough night for him. If we didn't pay 2 million to draft him he'd be gone. I'm surprised Bogut hasn't been bought out

Point? a loss is a loss, and to beat them once in 2 years isn't just "regular season

I don't know........but maybe the point is that the Cavs won the NBA Championship last year and Chicago didn't even make the playoffs.

Mad credit to Griffin for constructing a roster "system" that allows us to add solid bench guys when they become available.

He's like the anti Danny Ferry.

then that point doesn't even matter, because last year has zero relevance to this year..which we are 0-3 btw..but i guess anything to start an argument i guess..my point was simply the cavs shouldn't be losing to a crap team like this with or without lebron...they need to figure out something to win without lebron..its stupid with the amount of players we have on this team to not get blown out by a single player..to me its bad coaching/scheme..Depending on how it shapes up, I'd rest lebron a TON the remaining games and force the team to figure out how to win. Needing lebron to play 40 minutes a game to win isn't realistic..i get he's the greatest player in NBA..but we're not playing GS, Spurs and Houston during all these losses without him

we have some pieces next year as well..I also think we will have a couple roster spots open as well since RJ/JJ will probably retire(i hope) . Keeping Derrick William will take RJ's place and Korver, not sure what Deron's long term plans are if he plans to stick around or not. but we have a couple healthy trade exceptions worth about 7 mill i think

There aren't many teams in the league winning games with 3 starters down.
