I read that the Celtics are trying to get Bogut from the Sixers before they buy him out. He would fit them perfectly. They certainly would be the dirtiest team around. i think GS still has that on lock Just with Green, all by himself?

well i guess we didn't do anything...They are betting their repeat chances on bidding on buyouts and FA at this point. I'm not too upset as I didn't feel there was much we could do and I think there will be some good buyout candidates...I'm praying for Tyreke Evans

And naturally the Celtics do nothing ... I'm starting to think these phone conversations go like this:
Ainge: "Hey we'll trade you a second round draft pick for Paul George/Jimmy Butler/etc"
Other GM: *click*
Ainge leak to the press: "I'm trying sooooo hard to get a big name in here"

Raptors got PJ Tucker. Not a bad addition whatsoever.

Terrance Jones, Deron Williams and Bogut are all on the list of potential buy-out free agents.

NBA Trade Deadline: Mavs officially waive Deron Williams; will Cavs sign him? - CBSSports.com http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-tr...-cavs-sign-him/The Dallas Mavericks did not trade guard Deron Williams before Thursday’s deadline, and they waived the veteran guard shortly afterward. For the Mavericks, this means more opportunities for young guards Yogi Ferrell and Seth Curry. For Williams, this means he will likely have his pick of a few teams. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz all expressed interest in Williams via trade, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania. Presumably, they would be even more interested in adding him as a free agent. Let’s look at each option: Cleveland Cavaliers This is the obvious top spot for Williams if he wants to compete for a title. LeBron James would probably throw him a welcome party, given how vocal he has been about wanting the team to add a veteran point guard. Williams can easily run the Cavs’ offense as Kyrie Irving’s backup and even share the floor with him at times. Cleveland has a couple of roster spots available, and it could potentially add both Williams and Andrew Bogut to strengthen its bench. Utah Jazz Williams spent the first five-and-a-half seasons of his NBA career with the Jazz, and they’re arguably as talented now as they ever were then. This is the deepest team in the league, so they don’t exactly need Williams, but he would be nice insurance against an injury in the backcourt and would ensure that 21-year-old guard Dante Exum doesn’t get thrown into an uncomfortable situation in the playoffs. Atlanta Hawks This seems the least likely of the three scenarios, but Atlanta is a playoff team that could use some help in the backcourt. Malcolm Delaney has had his moments as Dennis Schröder’s backup, but has struggled mightily as a shooter outside of a strong stretch in January. Williams could be a steadying influence in Mike Budenholzer’s offensive system, which hasn’t been the same this season without Al Horford and Jeff Teague.

Dang...I'll be shocked if he says no to Lebron and a title run.

Williams would be an excellent addition and Bogut would give us a rim protector.
Nice!

We can add one of them without making any other moves, but to add the second would require a roster move to open a spot.
The most obvious moves would be either Williams, who is on his 2nd 10 day deal, (less likely than other moves) or waiving one of Felder, McRae, or Liggins. Since Liggins seems to have found a role on the 2nd unit, I don't think it will be him, so that leaves either McRae or Felder.
I kinda like Felder, though he needs time to develop, and on a team with championship hopes, that can be in short supply .....but with the injury to Smith, and with Shump's frequent short term injuries, the backup SG could be more important. We also will have Kyrie and Williams at PG, and Shump can play a few minutes there per game .... plus Lebron can play some "point forward". I suspect that Felder's time on the Cavaliers is coming to an end. (if we add both Williams and Bogut)

None of the three you listed have played meaningful minutes since we got korver and Williams. William can play 1-4. He will stick before one of those three

I'd hope Felder can latch on to an NBA team and he not get dumped to the G-league. That is, assuming that ends up happening.
I'm not sure about Bogut, his injury helped us in the Finals, not sure how he'd help us against the Warriors (maybe that's not important because he can help us GET to the Warriors).

McRae seems to have hit his ceiling and plays a position that 10 other people on the roster can play.

Do we have to worry about DWill clearing waivers? There are quite a few teams below the Cavs. Atlanta wanted him AND we tend to crush their souls every playoffs. Do they spitefully claim him?

Why wouldn't a team claim him? Just asking They would have to pay him $9 mil in salary, as opposed to vet minimum, or whatever they would want to pay him. Also, if he really wants to go to the Cavs, and they claim him instead, they could be paying that to a very sulky PG on their bench. Plus they would have to waive someone on their own roster (buyout their contract), just to make room for him.

Why wouldn't a team claim him? Just asking If a team claims a player off waivers, it assumes his current contract and is on the hook for the remainder of his salary. Which is like 9 million.. or wait until he clears and sign for vet minimum

Why wouldn't a team claim him? Just asking Along with what others have mentioned, you also have to have enough cap space to claim the player.

Oh duh ... can't believe I didn't think of that.
That means only the Jazz, Nuggs, Wolves, Nets and Suns can claim him. (And I doubt the Nets are going to take another shot at him)

Maybe they wanted Williams to be able to choose where he goes? I am not sure. I think Williams ends up on the Cavs, I just wanted to point out that the Jazz had interest in him and could claim him if they wanted.

so Simmons won't be playing this season.
the 76'ers should be banned from the lottery. they get these players, some get injured, but they trade them away, like Noel.
do they have any intention on trying to make a good team and get to the playoffs?
