I thought Mike Glennon was the next "Josh McCown"

Hang around the league for years.

Eventually get a shot, do well for a bit.

Then go somewhere and be meh.

I'm very "whatever" on him.

If he was good a team would of scooped him up as soon as TB got Winston.

the jimmy g stuff is just leaks to get the price higher

Or they want to keep him. Peter King and Ed Werder have been saying for weeks that they think the Patriots will keep him.

They can just franchise tag Garoppolo and trade him next year (it's what they did with Cassel).

Physically he had one of his best seasons so no signs of getting old.

I'm thinking of Williams as our DC and him looking to attack. We got Shelton to gobble up blockers while Campbell would kill one on one. Keep in mind he is 300 lbs. Strong and Quick. Good first step and RGs especially are slower than most other OL.

Its ok...your reasoning was pretty sound. I think Calais is a special football player. 3-4 DE he gets doubled a lot...at 4-3 with Shelton at NT...he should get one on one!

On Kaepernick being average and how that plays to his advantage:

Kaepernick would be the best QB we have had since 2007. And he is not good. I'd take him if all the other options dry up.

None of these QBs are good, but this is the order I would put them in:

1. Cutler
2. Kaepernick
3. Matt Moore
4. Hoyer
5. Glennon
6. Fitzpatrick
7. Griffin

If it came down to it I might just try to trade for Brett Hundley and roll everything over to 2018.

I have passionately followed the Browns since 1978 when I was 8 years old. When the team moved I did not even watch an NFL game for 3 seasons. But, if the Browns bring in Kaepernick I will not go to any games or watch them on tv until he is gone.

Can't do it. Won't do it. I'll find some other way to spend Sundays. See you guys in the Tailgate every now and then, if they sign this knob.

A few thoughts:

--Poe is interesting. I like him.

--I will probably stop watching the Browns if they bring Kap in here. He stinks. He is not a team guy. He's a fraud. Making some dumb statement and then he doesn't even vote.

--I don't like Glennon. He does have some skills, but he holds the ball WAY too long, very similar to our QBs and his delivery is long. Bad combo. He would take a ton of sacks.

--I like C. Campbell a lot. Great player. Monster of a man. But, I don't think he fits into the analytics thing.

Hey if it happens I'd be exstatic. I've been a personal fan of his since his draft and even out of position he'd be an upgrade. Those are just my reasons why it seems unlikely or why they may go in another direction instead.

Well, he wasn't franchised. So there's a small chance

1. Calais is not young so yeah it goes against Analytics but hopefully we got football in the formulations! wink

2. Kap...it would be such a negative. Not his controversial Kneeling thing for me it was the T-Shirt applauding Castro. That told me he's a political idiot and the Browns would lose a lot of support! It would not be smart for us to consider that move.
Also I know I stand probably alone, I think RG3 is better.

Predator??? think it was your post on Calais my memory sucks with names. But whoever - I understand your reasoning and as mentioned was very sound.

Glennon just is not consistently accurate. I wouldn't mind him here as our dependable BACK UP but not as a starter. We got Backup all taken care of (Unfortunately...lol laugh )

Pretty much. Last two years have been Jameis Winston.

Sure is, and we don't really know how much he's improved. I know that the Bucs head coach became head coach because of the work he did with Winston and the Bucs didn't want to lose him. I think that was the reports.

Maybe he was good for Glennon too

It's hard to groom your own guys when you are changing coaches every two years.

Not a free agent, but it looks like the Saints are going to trade Brandin Cooks (he is really good):

Quote:
Saints WR Brandin Cooks is the object of trade talks with the Titans and Eagles identified as two interested suitors, per league sources.

https://twitter.com/mortreport/status/837322121105784833

The Eagles don't have a first round pick and the Titans have two. I'd guess he ends up in Tennessee.

Eagles got a first rounder back after the Bradford trade. They pick #15, I believe.

Would we give up #12 for Cooks? I wouldn't. Maybe Philly would

He's up for a new contract soon. That definitely devalues his return. Doubt it would take more than a late 1st. 33 would likely do.

You can also pick up his fifth year option. So he's essentially under contract for 17 and 18.
