The #Lions have agreed to terms with FA LB Paul Worrilow, source said. Fills a big need
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

i'll give pryor 20 guaranteed and 8 million per
it looks like his pie in the sky (or rosenhaus') shall not happen Not yet anyway, he hasn't had an Antonio Brown like career yet, so why should he expect that kind of pie? Not to mention, if someone only wanted to give me an $8 million pie, I don't think I'd turn it down.

Browns have been heavily linked to Johnathan Cyprien and losing out on Jefferson makes it a natural fit https://t.co/CKQrVaT59A — Ian Wharton (@NFLFilmStudy) March 9, 2017

Browns are better off without guys that are so opposed to playing in Cleveland that they take less $ to be elsewhere. Get guys that buy in.

I'm not really too upset we missed on Jefferson. I wanted him but it sounds like he wasn't to keen on being here, he has only produced 1 year, and the price tag is tremendous. Cyprien should come much cheaper and will be a good asset in this system as the under safety. He may not be as good as Jefferson in coverage but he's every bit as good against the run and much more athletically gifted. If he comes here it does put more of a precedent on finding a true Ball hawk at fs though to make up for his inability to play both safety spots.

We already have Campbell, who flashed under Pettine, and Kindred, who I like a lot as a SS type. How many more SS types do we need? I admit that I didn't watch a whole lot of Jags games, but I keep reading that he is an in the box type .... and we really need a center fielder type, with instincts, who can patrol deep. (unless they think that either Campbell or Kindred can play FS?)

He might be one that can interchange, but leaving him in coverage the whole time is not what I want to do with the guy

If he's a solid backup well be lucky. Campbell may have flashed by browns standards but his roster spot is not safe right now as it shouldn't be

j/c: I am getting the feeling the Browns will never be good. No one wants to play for this low-paying, inept franchise. And who can blame them. I read on the locked thread where a poster was slamming the 49ers for spending money. LMAO.......gee, let's blast them because they are showing they are serious about winning. And in 3 years, when they have blown by us........the same guys on here will still be talking about saving money in FA.

All they need to do is string together 2-3 solid draft classes. Not home runs, doubles. Each draft, get guys who are 12-20% better than the guys that are on the team now. Ask the question: is OJ Howard better than the tight ends we have now? If the answer is yes, you pick him. Is Garrett better than Ogbah and Nassib? If yes, get him. Look who is out there, if they are better, get them.

Here's a novel idea....draft our own safeties.
We only have 11 picks, its not like the talent in the draft isn't there.
FS - Hooker, Melifonwu ( F or S ),D King, B Baker & M Williams. Along with other late round talent.
SS - Again, Melifonwu, J Peppers, J Evans etc.
If people don't want to play here, we're forced to develop our own talent.
Lucky for us, this is the right yr. to do just that.
What we have now is not great, maybe even weak. I can see us drafting 3 in the secondary in the first 4 rounds, 2 being S.
Guess what....We'll be a way better defence for it.

Here's a novel idea....draft our own safeties. You mean like Campbell, Kindred, Gipson, Poyer, Reynolds, etc. (some of these guys were not drafted, but you get the point). We should draft safeties and sign them. We need several of basically everything. Not only that, but a lot of teams play three safeties a ton of the time now.

I thought Tony Jefferson just took less signing with Ravens rather than with the Browns. Jamie Collins under paid? Are you stating 49ers hiring so far is the right way to rebuild a team? Over paying FA isn't fair to veterans who stayed. Watching friends leave seeing hired guns get paid above market. What is this saying for stability?

I just thought of this for some reason: Remember a few years ago there was some sort of press conference and there was a door open in the room. Inside the door there was a whiteboard with a bunch of free agent targets on it. I don't know if what we are doing now is going to work, but I believe it to be much better than the incompetence of Ray Farmer and his crew (most of which still works for the team). Edit (I found a picture of it):

I mean players with talent.
The only player that this FO drafted on list was Kindred. At this point I feel he's a 4th round ST at best.
I also noticed you referenced the one yr. wonder Gipson. What a great yr. he had with Jags, not. What a [censored]. Oh I'm hurt going into camp. Oh I'll play safe and get out of here. Then cry about not getting any attention in free agency by the Browns. Great FO move, see ya!
What I'm saying is, the talent level, in loaded crop of quality secondary players @ #33, #52 & the top of the 3rd, if we choose, can change the quality of our defence immediately. Two starters at safety & instant help at corner.

Two starters at safety & instant help at corner. Long term? Maybe yes. But in the short term? Rookies usually aren't good (as we saw last year). It all depends on the long term plan. If we plan to be as bad as last year, play a bunch of rookies (I am okay with this). If the plan is to be at least respectable, sign some guys (I am okay with this).

Its done ...
Tony Jefferson - DB - Ravens Ravens agreed to terms with S Tony Jefferson, formerly of the Cardinals. The market's top safety, Jefferson was also drawing interest from the Jets and Browns, the latter of which were reportedly offering the most money. Jefferson chose the Ravens' infinitely better odds of winning in 2017, though we doubt he's taking that much of a discount. A 2013 UDFA, Jefferson gradually saw his playing time increase before breaking out as a full-time player the past two years. He's a playmaker. Jefferson's addition is a sign Lardarius Webb will be sent packing. Related: Cardinals Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Mar 8 - 9:22 PM

Lets hope Zietlers a whore unlike Jefferson ...
The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Herbie Teope reports the Saints are interested in free agent RG Kevin Zeitler.
Much like RT Rick Wagner did with the right-tackle market on Wednesday, Zeitler is expected to reset the right-guard market on Thursday. He's fully expected to land $10 million-plus annually, and plenty of teams have interest, including the Browns, Jaguars, and Colts. Zeitler would be a much younger upgrade on longtime Saints RG Jahri Evans, 33, who is also a free agent. Related: Saints Source: Herbie Teope on Twitter Mar 8 - 11:31 PM

Jaguars agreed to terms with DE Calais Campbell, formerly of the Cardinals.
The deal is worth $14 million annually, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. Campbell figures to play right end in Jacksonville where the Jaguars have been using bigger linemen ever since ex-coach Gus Bradley took over the team. DC Todd Wash is a holdover from Bradley's regime and will likely keep the same scheme. Campbell not only is stout against the run, but he gives the Jaguars much needed pass-rush skills from the position that previous REs Jared Odrick and Red Bryant didn't show. It's a huge get for the Jaguars as they continue to stockpile defensive talent. Related: Cardinals Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter Mar 8 - 9:41 PM

Lot of cash being thrown at guys right now .. clearly guys being overpaid.
The problem is, even when we want to overpay we can't. We're literally the ugliest girl at the dance.
