The other thread was locked.

Woke up to see this. It appears a move is definitely going to happen. To where we don't know but can speculate.

It's been confirmed a hoax by Rap. Someone hacked his Instagram haha.

This is like a movie

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

The social media thing is a hoax.

Even still, IMO, if we give up two first for an unproven back up, then that cancels out all the great things we did yesterday.

I'm not a fan of JG whatsoever, but if the FO wants to give up a 2nd this year and two 2nds next year, fine.

But our 1st rounders should be off the table for an unproven guy who got injured in his 2nd career start.

I'm against giving up two 1st rounders for anybody, but if we're gonna sell the farm for a qb, then it better be Kirk Cousins. He's PROVEN to be that dude. He has actual history of having elite seasons.

If true. As long as there's no first involved. I'm good.

With our revamped o-line, I think we finally insert QB here, and they should have success.

Keep RG3, Kessler, and draft a QB.

It will be interesting to see what we give.

This year the draft is deep in defensive talent - next year who knows ?

One thing is for sure - we can't continue to keep all these picks AND keep the players we select with them. We'd have a new roster after 3 years. Was it 14 players we kept last year?

So - to my mind it does make sense to get the player you want. Within reason of course. I am not in favor of two number ones. A #2 this year and an #1 next year? I could live with that. #12 this year and a couple of mid rounders? A mid rounder or two this year and two 2's next year? There are a lot of variables. And it would seem that our trade partner values a number of lower picks more highly than a single high 1st round pick. . . . who would be shocked if the Patriots acquired the #12 this year and then turned that into 2 or 3 picks in the top 100 this year?

Exciting times for certain.

I think you make a good point. People are worried and/or complaining about giving up draft picks. The truth is that the Browns have a surplus of draft picks and won't be able to keep all those players on the roster. It would be smart to turn some of those draft picks into assets, such as trading for a guy like Jimmy G or Cousins---depending on who is available.

In all reality, I'd give up Brock, 33, next year's 2, and another mid rounder. That'd be it.

I would not give up 1, 12, next year's 1st

We can give them picks.

Just not our 1st rounders.

I agree with the previous posts. I don't mind sending a bunch of picks that aren't #1s. However, the flipside of me says - if he is the answer, why does it matter? Glad it's not me making the call.

Two #2s and a conditional based on performance would be palatable.

I want MG. Play with the other picks later. I figured the extra 2 might have been to do this trade. Go back into first for more help. Hope this pans gold for the Brownies.

The odds of Garrappolo being any good once he leaves New England is very low.

We have a better chance of Brock going back to his 2015 form

Name me one NE Qb that has done anything once they left NE?

Hoyer - Nope
Cassell - Nope
Mallet - Nope
Jimmy - will also be a nope

Its Bellichik and that system. No one else in the NFL can replicate it. Jimmy will not play as well here as he did in NE...its not going to happen. A lot of that is Bellichik....i mean he won 11 games with Cassell FFS.

Bellichik is shopping a bill of goods...if Jimmy was half of what we thing he is, Bellichik wouldn;'t even consider trading him if he truly was the franchise apparent to Brady....they would find some way to keep him if that was the case.

Giving up Brock, a 33, next years 2, and a mid rounder next year is getting fleeced....they would be taking us to cleaners....he has proven NOTHING he is a worth a 3rd, maybe a 4th...thats it...no other GM in the NFL offers more then that....

I relaly don't think Bellichik wants to trade him, so he is putting the price so high that if some dolt does actually offer that then he will, but he thinks the chances are low, but he knows the Browns are so deperate that he may get lucky and win the lottery by fleecing us lol

there is a reason he has 5 SB and we have 0....

I don't think NE would want Osweiler.

Last night, I made a post about a radio interview I heard w/Sage Rosenhaus [that spelling might be off,] the former NFL QB. He was talking about how Kubiak's offense in Denver was much more qb friendly than O'Brian's offense in Houston. Of course, O'Brian brought that offense from NE.

They put a lot more pressure on the QB to handle things than Denver's offense did. He said any young qb w/out much experience would struggle in that situation.

I'm rambling........anyway......I don't know if NE would be a good fit for Osweiler, due to the complexity of the offense.

One last thought..........if that offense is truly that complex and demanding of a qb, it speaks well of Jimmy G. What did Belichick say? Something about not missing a beat????

The O line buildup can just as easily be for Watson, Kizer or Trubisky.

No way NE settles for our #33 and next years 2nd. At least not without a long negotiation.

Don't forget SF is in play I'd imagine.

1. None of those QBs had a skill set coming into the NFL to make them a 2nd round pick.

2. Yeah no way Pats want Osweiller.

3. BB has Always, ALWAYS loved 2nd round picks and has I believe stated that in someways are better picks do to the range of need available in getting the correct guy for their program.

4. Cassell who I am not comparing skill set as we know NOW but at the time after winning a lot of games and going on the Market I believe got the Pats 2 Second round picks.

jmho - Still wondering what that roar was as the action of the day was winding down in Berea.

Once again, the detractors of JG point to his circumstances. The proponents point to his abilities.

Just Clicking

Isn't Jimmy G's contract up after next season? I'm not sure he is or isn't the answer here. That's for those that know way more than I do.

But I wouldn't give up much if I couldn't get him signed to a long term deal

Some Cleveland radio station with a reporter camped outside of their doors...heard a roar erupt from the offices as the day was winding down. Supposed they reported it and one of the Dawgs here was listening and shared it. Sounded legit.

and by the same token, what the heck do you even give him in terms of a contract extension?

I think the acquisition of Osweiler also has the potential implication that we aren't as desperate as NE or anyone would make us out to be? I certainly feel it doesn't impact negatively on any trade discussion anyway and one should never have the air of desperation in a negotation....

The fact he was a 2nd rd pick is irrelenvent.

He played 2 games, and part of a 3rd. He is unproven.

You would be better off drafting a rookie for the asking price NE is wanting for Jimmy G...you would be better off getting Trubisky.

Atleast Trubisky, being a rookie, will actually be given a little bit of time....Jimmy on the other hand, if he doesn't set the world on fire by game 4, Cleveland Fans will be calling for his head.

Nah, the Browns are better off kicking the tires on Brock and drafting Trubisky, if Brock works out, good for us, if not, go with Trubisky.

Brock Osweiler has actually proven he can play at a high level in Denver, Jimmy G has proven nothing...you don't give up those kinda picks for someone who is unproven...thats a very poor decision.'its decisions like that is the reason we suck year after year.

Jimmy G has been hyped up by the media thanks to Lombardi being such close friends with Bellichik hyping up the media train.

Don't get me wrong, i wouldn't mind getting Jimmy for the right price.

Anymore then a 2nd or a low 2nd and a 3rd is getting fleeced when comparing to past deals for backup Qb on other teams.

I just don't want the Browns to get fleeced, thats all

im begining to think the same.

The Brows may be stocking picks for a draft day trade.

Perhaps they plan to to take Garret and then trade back up into the top 4 to take a Qb too, its a possibility.

I'd be okay with giving up half of the farm ... not all of it

The key word is "IF" ... and regardless of what any evaluator thinks - it's all opinion.

If Trubisky is a legit franchise QB - he's worth the #1 pick... Likewise Watson or Kizer. If JG is as good as some think, he is worth the #1 pick ! Most definitely each and all. IF they are the future franchise QB of the Browns.

But it's about risk - and with that comes value. As you say and I agree 100% - I am glad I am not making the call. I hope Hue gets the guy he wants.

yeah, i mean if Jimmy G is gonna give us a decade of good QB play ... I literally give all of our picks. But, that's the quandary ... we don't know
