I know that Cousins is a capable NFL QB, who can win. I hope these things about Jimmy, if we go that direction.

Scot McCloughan is an elite evaluator of talent. True football man. No surprise those traits might lead to his demise in Washington

Cousins signed his tag. Is now tradeable.

How much of Brock's salary would you be willing to cover.

What picks would you send with him.

To get Cousins?

Do we know he's going to be traded?

No, but we can hope.

I'd give 12, 38, and two 2s next year and Brock. Hell, I'd pay Brock's entire 2017 salary.

Cousins would be our best QB in 30 years and instantly makes us a playoff contender.

Apparently Washington is considering Mike Mayok as their next GM.

1. Nothing matters as long as Bruce Allen is there.

2. That would suck for the NFL Network.

It would be truly interesting to see that happen. I like Mayook and his takes for the most part.

It was a notification on my phone. I'll look.

Think Schefter tweeted it.

I wouldn't want nothing to do with Washington lol... a job here with our team sounds like a dream job compared to what seems to be going on over there in Washington.

Doesn't matter, they are probably basing their draft off of what they see on TV anyway.

Cousins signed his tender so he's staying in DC for 2017.

That's what I mean. He said that Cousins signing means he will be in Washington for 2017 (I think he will), but now they can trade him when before [he signed the tag] they could not.

To even thicken the plot more, who actually makes the trade on Washington's behalf? By that I mean who will take the responsibility putting the Redskins in dire straights being close to a contender. It will affect GM hire too.

Hire Mayock, draft Kizer, trade Cousins to the Browns. Problem solved.

I actually knew that you knew that. I was clarifying for PerfectSpiral.

I wasn't sure if I should reply to his post as it was who I was posting for or yours which was the last post in the conversation. Guess I picked the wrong one smile

Colin Cowherd: The Browns shouldn’t hesitate to trade top NFL Draft pick for Kirk Cousins

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/gallery/colin-cowherd-browns-49ers-kirk-cousins-trade-nfl-draft-031517

The Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers are two struggling franchises desperate for a quality starting quarterback, and both teams have been linked to a potential move for Redskins Pro Bowl QB Kirk Cousins, who reportedly wants out of D.C.

The Browns and 49ers hold the top two picks in the 2017 NFL Draft -- which doesn't boast a particularly strong lineup of quarterback prospects. The Browns may reportedly consider trading for Cousins, while the 49ers have been the favorite to potentially land the QB given his connection to new coach Kyle Shanahan.

On Wednesday's episode of "The Herd," Colin Cowherd argued that both teams should be throwing their picks at the Redskins to get Cousins.

Colin Cowherd: Are the Browns already tanking for the 2018 NFL Draft?

“This is a stunner to me. [Both] why Washington hasn’t signed him to a three-year deal is beyond me, and why Cleveland wouldn’t be interested is beyond me.

"By not going after him, it really feels like Cleveland -- by stockpiling draft picks, getting rid of Terrelle Pryor, not going after Kirk Cousins … you know what it feels like, to me? That Cleveland is legally tanking.

"Cleveland looks like … people tank in the season, they’re tanking before it. If they don’t go after Kirk Cousins and they sign Geno Smith, what does that tell you? They’re going after Sam Darnold.”

Then they better have Haslam's approval because there will be many unhappy campers if we have to go thru another 1-15 type season.

If Washington is actually entertaining offers, and would be willing to trade Cousins for the #1 overall, the Browns, if they have any brains at all, make that move in a heartbeat...Cousins instantly makes us a playoff contender, in a year or two, with the right other moves, Cousins takes us to the Super Bowl.

No way Garret does any of that.

Garrett is ranked a 7.6, Cousins is easily an 8.7 in talent scale right now...thats simply a no brainer...i'd trade the #1 overall for a talent like Cousins in a heart beat, and watch the wins start coming.

Do you have some sort of link or proof that Cousins is an 8.7 on the talent scale?

I like Cousins, but I am wondering how you came up w/that number.

Easy, look at his performance the last two seasons from watching Redskin games, I know a great player when i see one.

2015 0 69.8% completion rate, 4,166 yards, 29 Td, 11 ints, 101.6 QB

2016 - 67% completion rate, 4,917 yards, 25 Td, 12 Int, 97.2 QB

Those are Top 10, perhaps even Top 5 QB numbers...those are ELITE numbers. The guy has made a Pro Bowl.

To say ANYONE coming out of this current draft is higher rated then Cousins is just ridiclious.

Any guy that can play at an elite level in the NFL over 2 consecutive seasons is easily an 8+ Tom Brady of course being a 10.

Im not sure Washington would trade Cousins though. They would be really stupid in doing so.

My rating on Cousins is by watching his games over the last two years. His arm is pretty good, he def takes his time going through his progressions, he doesn't stare down or lock on to one guy, he is mobile enough to move in the pocket when he needs to, his mechanics are very sound, he rarely throws off his back foot, and he doesn't make stupid mistakes hence his low number of picks. He is also very accurate, able to throw the ball on a rope and throw his receivers open.

As i have said...if the Redskins would trade Cousins for our #1 overall, and we could work out a deal for Cousins we would be foolish not to pull the trigger. He would change everything for the Browns.

its highly doubtful the Redskins trade him though, why would you trade an elite level Qb like Cousins? QB that can put up those kind of numbers in back to back seasons are pretty proven, teams don't normally trade away such Qb talent.

Is this guy a Bozo or what...yeah we just made those FA moves to suck for Donard. crazy And the kicker is - that if we took Garrett instead of trading the pick we are trying to get bad???

Interesting, if you want to use stats to justify Cousins greatness:

2016 65.6% competition rate, 1,380 yards, 6 Td, 2 Int, 92.3 QB rating

If Cousins are elite numbers for a guy who has been in the league for 5 years - playing for what I think most would agree is a very good offensive coordinator .... then I guess you want to make a case that Kessler has the potential to be great too. He was a rookie thrown onto a bad team with a OL that had multiple injuries and a woeful center.

I like Cousins. I'd trade for him just like I'd trade for Jimmy G - to me it's a wash. I'd offer the same deal to either team.

As for the fact that Cousins went to the Pro-bowl ??? Derek Anderson went to the Pro-bowl ... I don't think that is a good barometer.

Project Kessler's stats out over a full season with the same number of attempts as Cousins and he projects to 4,140 yards. 18 Tds, 6 int's.

Not too shabby for a 3rd round draft pick.
