We offered him way more than that. He thought he could make more. We signed Britt. He had no market after that.

Well, that answers what was really important to him. From what was reported, he left a lot more money, and years, on the table.

I haven't seen a quote anywhere that proves we offered more than that.

Yeah when all say no to you...its time to sign the one year contract and try to make a big contract next year. If he has Cousins throwing to him he better get the Routes down.

Good luck Pryor, he 8 mil isn't a bad payday...put that baby in the bank!

It's sad to see a player turn his back on the team and coach that gave him a chance to have a career ...

This makes no sense. Did they Schwartz him and pull the offer? Why the hell would he take less money?

Me too.

Only a 1 year deal, though? Wow.

It is sad since NFL teams have so much more loyalty to their players.

tsktsk

He likely wants to have a banner year and try free agency again next year.

Dammit! Sucks that he chose to leave. He's definitely not getting the windfall he was hoping for.

What the Hell?? Did we pull the offer after a certain period of time, maybe?

I feel pretty good about this FA period, but getting him back would have felt SO much better.

Have fun in the basement of a different division with a WORSE front office, TP.

There's probably a lot better chance of that happening with Cousins throwing him the ball vs whoever we're going to toss out there.

Hue Jackson drafted him and pretty much steered his career to this point. Between Drew and Terelle he just managed to derail his whole career for what? Pride? Way to go. I hope Kirk Cousins now gets traded and he ends up with Colt as his QB and soon to be found bagging groceries at Giant Eagle.

Per year with incentives according to a tweet Lane had last night. Again, tifwiw, but he usually doesn't make crap up, and has pretty good sources.

I think once they saw the long term big $$$ deal wasn't there for them that Pryor and Drew wanted the shorter deal so they could go back into FA next year to get (similar to Jeffries).

I dunno about all that. I'm ticked he didn't stick with us when he said he wanted to, but it's a business.

I won't hold back the laughter if Cousins skips out of town, though.

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2017/03/terrelle_pryor_visits_redskins.html

"Pryor's chances of returning to the Browns decreased dramatically when they signed receiver Kenny Britt to a four-year deal worth $32.5 million, including $17 million guaranteed."

"The $8.1 million a year was similar to the offer the Browns made Pryor, whose production in 2016 was nearly identical to Britt's with the Rams. In his first full season as a receiver, Pryor caught 77 passes for 1,007 yards and four TDs. Britt, 28, caught 68 passes for 1,002 yards and five TDs."

That sucks. Be nice to know what the Browns offered him... I hope that comes out.

As others have said. Pryor is hoping to have a great year and a bigger pay day next year. It's highly risky. If anyone was giving him good advice he should have taken the deal Britt got. . . . I have to believe the offer Pryor got was actually better. Whatever. Just sheer bad luck and an injury to him or Cousins could cost him 10's of millions. . . . . iy iy iy.

I think Rosenhaus filled his head with $15m per guarantees and told him to say the right things to the Cleveland media and then when the huge contract didn't get offered, they felt it was caving in if they stayed for less.

I guess, good luck in Washington. Cousins might be traded any minute.
