The thought of him playing in Hue's downfield attack scheme is something that should cause all mouths and lips to salivate and etc. But, as you stated, I'm not counting on the guy either. I think he's an extremely bad example for the young kids we have here.

We'll see how it all plays out. It's not that I'm rooting against him or wishing negativity towards him, I've never dealt with a drug or substance issue so I really don't know what he's going through, I just know I'm done thinking there's hope.

If he's gonna be reinstated I'd rather it be sooner rather than later. I'm sure there's some team out there that would give up a second for him based on that one year.

But yeah, I'd also rather see him here than anywhere else.

I'm pessimistically optimistic about it.

Whether it's Josh or not, IMO we desperately need a BIG play AND reliable WR ... that is not Coleman or Britt

I don't know. Coleman has BIG play written all over him. Reliability is unknown.... he was injured and he didn't get a fair chance to show what he is capable of achieving in my opinion.

I agree 100% we need a flat out #1 - and at the moment that is not Coleman or Britt.

I doubt that most sincerely. If Gordon played for a different team - was reinstated, would you want the Browns to give up a 2nd round pick for him based on his history? Even with all the draft picks these next 2 years would you even give up a 3rd for him?

If he gets reinstated that means he passed all his tests for a Year! I think they test him every week.

It might be the first year that Gordon has bee clean...

Get him ready to play...have a great season. Tender him as a RFA...I think we can. Either match the contract or get the 1st round tender from that team.

That is the perfect scenario for me. I'd hate to try and estimate the odds of that becoming reality ! Single digit % for sure. But we can hope. Be interesting to see if Hue has the ability to wake the young man up and keep him on the straight and narrow.

Is that true? Not being wise. I truly don't know the answer.

When did he check himself into rehab? September? October? Hard to believe he was clean if he checked himself into rehab. LOL

I dunno, as a Browns fan there's always some glimmer of foolish hope in the back of my head thinking positive.

If there wasn't, I certainly wouldn't continue to torture myself like this every fall! rofl

Maybe he was clean, clean, clean, then toked. Then checked into rehab before next mandatory test? Does he have have to take tests while in rehab??

Yeah, would've been nice to see him without the injury stuff. I think, as of right now, Coleman's best chance to show big play is us with a consistent and nasty running attack. We can't be pass happy because most third string corners can shut down our WRs, man press. It'd be nothing for a team to just double team him often without fear of our running game nor really any other passing threat.

I'm guessing the only two people happier than I am about how we just addressed the line are Duke Johnson and Isaiah Crowell.

I can't wait to see how this years run game turns out now that we've addressed that need.

Honestly I think a great run game truly means greater impact potential from Coleman. Dude is blazing fast, fights for the ball and an ankle breaker with a little bit of space. . . . he's got to catch the damn ball and stay healthy. smile

i have a confession: i'm currently hating myself right now, because once again, i'm slowly gaining hope that we will see Gordon on the field this season.

If the NFL had any compassion for the Browns and their fans they would release Gordon to play this year thumbsup

After the last 5 games I saw him play the only way I want to see him on the field is if he in a pukesburgh uniform.

Gordon has not played in the NFL since the game 15 of the 2014 season, where he was suspended for 11 games, and contributed little in 4 of the other 5. He did not play in 2015. He did not play in 2016, even after he was on track to be reinstated, but ran into problems that led him to rehab, and a 2nd full season lost to the team.

If he is reinstated, I showcase him in the 1st and maybe 2nd preseason games, and he's gone t the highest bidder. There is no way on this earth that I trust a guy who has proved to be completely untrustworthy. I don't even keep him on the team all the way to preseason game 4. If I can't find someone to trade fr him, I cut him. There is simply no way this team should trust in him to stay clean. and even for him to be ready to play football. unprepared to play football.

I wish him well, and maybe a new team gives him a new outlook on things. However, he has proved to be incapable of being able to even get on the field here.

There is an old saying: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." This would be our 4th or 5th "shame on us". No thanks. Move on and just get rid of this guy to the highest bidder, as soon as possible, for whatever is possible.

Mr. Ted you are exactly right, forgiveness comes from the heart and it is spiritual but as human beings it is hard for us to forget, so every time I feel anger towards Art or anyone for that matter I must offer more forgiveness, Remember what Jesus told Peter ...

MATTHEW 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven."

Amen brother!

There is a line in the Lord's Prayer that says, "Forgive us our trespasses AS WE FORGIVE those who trespass against us."

I always took that as asking to be forgiven in the same measure that I forgive others. If I don't forgive others, then what level of forgiveness should I expect for myself. The best way for me to be forgiven is to forgive.

Absolutely. However, there is a difference between forgiving someone, and counting on them to do something they have proved to be completely incapable of doing.

If there is a guy who had been convicted of drunk driving 10 times, I can forgive him on a personal/spiritual basis, but the laws he violated are still the laws of the land and he has to be punished according to those laws. In the case of Gordon, I hope that he does get his life straightened out, but he cannot be here. He has shown that this is a bad place fr him, either the NFL in general, or the Browns in particular, so he cannot be counted on here. That's not refusing to forgive him, it's facing reality. If a 3rd string QB goes on a drunken spree and punches a wall, breaking both hands, I can forgive him .... but that doesn't mean the team should keep him on the roster. There is a guy in the draft who punched a woman in the face. I can "forgive" him, (though it's really not for me to do so, as I was not the offended party) but that doesn't mean that I want to bring him into my team.

Forgiveness doesn't mean a guaranteed job. If Gordon continued this dance until he's 40, should we guarantee him a job at age 41? Of course not.
