Exactly. Could never lay a physical hit on someone without hurting himself even more so. Not much of a loss.

MAC - there's nothing here to see ... just skip this one ... *LOL* ....

Jeremy Fowler‏ @JFowlerESPN

Told at least three teams have inquired about #Browns RFA Isaiah Crowell. CLE placed 2nd rd tender on Crowell after 952 yards, 7 TDs

I don't see anyone giving up a 2nd rounder for him ...

I'm not sure why Hue loves hum so much ... that tender is beyond prohibitive to anyone that may have thought he was worth kicking the tires on ...

My guess is the teams that came looking wanted to know if he could be had for less ... if thats even possible now ...

I'd take a second round pick for Crowell every time. Not only is this draft class super deep with running backs, so is free agency.

I love Crowell, but he is nothing special.

To me it depends on the team
All things equal. If it's the pats I match. The bears I take the pick

So your trading him for a top of the rnd 2 pick but not a bottom of rnd 2 pick then ...

OK ...

Isaiah Crowell - RB - Browns

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports "at least three teams have inquired about" Browns restricted free agent RB Isaiah Crowell.

Crowell was tendered at the second-round level, making it unlikely he's tendered an offer sheet elsewhere. Crowell had a wildly uneven, but ultimately productive 2016. The former UDFA just turned 24 in January. He should lead the Browns' backfield in 2017.

I would in a heart beat. I don't think Crow is bad, but he's certainly not way above average. I take a 2nd round for any avg/above avg RB.

I ask because I know that there are some posters who love him and probably wouldn't do that deal (although as you said it won't be offered).

With this year's draft class supposedly being running back heavy, I'd take the second rounder.

They could use a Backup QB..

I'm not sure how much value you can place in these reports. Cleveland is associated with every trade and FA because of picks and cap.

I hope nobody posted this story as of yet. (I only checked back one page.) Hey, I'm busy watching The Walking Dead from last night!

'Isaiah Crowell reportedly draws interest from three teams'

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...om-three-teams/

Posted by Mike Florio on March 13, 2017, 7:30 PM EDT

Browns running back Isaiah Crowell carries a second-round restricted free agency tender. Heโ€™s nevertheless drawing interest.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that three teams have โ€œinquired aboutโ€ Crowell. Itโ€™s unclear whether those inquiries were directed to Crowell or to the Browns.

If another team signs Crowell to an offer sheet and if the Browns choose not to match it, theyโ€™d get a second-round pick as compensation. That seems to be a lot to give up for a running back, however. Any team interested in Crowell at that level should just draft a running back in round two; theyโ€™d then have the player at a reasonable rate for four years.

The Browns could trade Crowell for less than a second-round pick, after Crowell signs the $2.81 million tender.

Undrafted in 2014, Crowell had a career-high 952 rushing yards last year, with seven touchdowns. He added 319 receiving yards.

I know a lot of people on here don't really like him, but I think he is a good back and I hope we keep him.

Please, let's not create another need. We have a ton of needs. We already lost Pryor which means we will probably have to spend a significant draft choice on a WR. Let's not create another need and have to draft a RB.

I like Crowell now. I never believed him to be more than ordinary but he would have gained a lot more yards last season if he had the touches he should have had. He proved me wrong. We gotta keep that guy. wink

I like him, but if a team is crazy enough to give up a second for a RB, I'd let him go and draft one in the 2nd.

He is better than average, but for some reason he runs hot and cold. I'm not sure what his mental block is, but there are just some games where he doesn't run that well.

I think that had more to do w/defensive schemes [see Kessler starting w/the NE game] than anything else.

I am not saying I am right. No foot in the sand, but this team's talent sucks in so many areas.

This is a really strong draft in certain areas, especially defensively. There are a lot of very good to great edge rushers, some good interior linemen, several good lbers, and a TON of great secondary players. We need help in all those areas.

I really liked how the FO addressed the OL in FA. That was smart in my opinion. This year's OL class is relatively poor. We improved our line, at least theoretically. I am bummed about losing Pryor, but it's over now.

No need to create another need when we have so many other needs.

Well yes, defenses keyed on him when Kessler went in, but he's been like that every season. Usually it's a slow start. You can tell watching him run. There is suddenly a game where the light comes on and then he is running with authority for a while.

I can't put my finger on what it is, but he seems to lack burst when he isn't playing well.

I really like Crow. I think that he has a lot of talent, and has performed on a team without a lot of talent. He averaged 4.8 yards/carry last year, with an inconsistent line, and with inconsistent usage, and really inconsistent QB play. He has been able to stay healthy. He was able to put up 950 yards, despite never having 20 carries in a game. He had 5 games with less than 10 carries last year, and 11 games in which he had 15 and fewer carries. He never really had a chance to get in a groove, and with all of the changes on the OL, it's amazing he ever was.

I think that Crow can be a 1500 yard back if we ever get even just some of the rest figured out. I think that he'll easily top 1200 if this new OL can gel and stay healthy. That is exactly what we need with a young QB, which seems to be almost certain.

I agree. I don't think we don't want him. I think we do. If anything, let the other teams set the market.

I hope we keep Crow but a 2nd round pick for a traditionally undervalued position where there is decent talent in the draft.....I wonder if Fournette, McCaffrey or Cook are on our radar?

Not that I want to get rid of Crowell.

But if he goes. Is it really a hole? We still have Duke, that Darius kid that got some hype late (and is a beast in Madden) and the Legend of Ben Gay Award winner George Atkinson III.
