I know up in heaven there is a smiling young boy who once belonged to this board by the name "RavenKiller". He was a very passionate and faithful fan, better than myself at times I must admit. And I would like to think he's up there and very happy for the team. God Bless You RavenKiller.

[color:"white"] CapitalGG

I was thinking about him before the game. No doubt in my mind he enjoyed that game.

RIP RK.

Ravenkiller must have been before my time here. What's the story on him, if I may be so bold as to ask?

"the reason a dog..."

RIP kid

Ravenkiller was a kid who used to post on here and was very well liked. He was a smart kid who it turned out was terminally ill and passed away a few years back.

R.I.P. Ravenkiller

KING

I forgot his first name, but, I'm sure he was from one of the Carolina states. He died of Leukemia at the young age of 10 or 11 I believe. His final wish was to see his beloved Browns win the Super Bowl. I think he touch all our hearts who read his posts on this board.

[color:"white"]VetteDawg

I remember his Dad (I think it was his Dad) came on and posted a thank you to all of us for our well wishes.

R_K has been in my sig ever since.

God bless R_K, his family and friends once again...and forever.

Third and Long

This is a portion of an article that Zac Jackson wrote in October 2002

ClevelandBrowns.com is the number one sports team website in America for lots of reasons; interactivity is one of them. For every Butch Davis interview, Tim Couch sound clip and Zac Jackson article, fans have a chance to react, discuss and ask questions. One of the website’s most popular features is the “Dawg Talk” message board area, a forum for armchair quarterbacks and curious fanatics everywhere.

It takes a lot of people to make “Dawg Talk” work as well as it does. And many of those people have used the forum to carve a niche, establish an identity, and make their voice not only heard, but also remembered. The Dawg Talkers are a family of sorts, and this weekend they’re honoring one of their own: Raven Killer.

Raven Killer is the handle used by James Kelly, a teen Dawg Talker who, obviously, wasn’t a Baltimore fan. Sadly, James passed away last year from Leukemia and left a final wish—to see, from seats in a better place, his beloved Browns win the Super Bowl.

All Dawg Talkers share his wish, and a select few have taken the time and effort in recent months to organize a memorial to James. Sunday night’s game with the Ravens has been dedicated to “Raven Killer” and Dawg Talkers will observe a moment of silence at the popular tailgate spot, Dawg Talk Island, Sunday at 6:30pm.

Here’s how Dawg Talker Ken Smith, aka Couchdawg, remembers James: “He was a very positive young man whose posts were informative and wise beyond his years. Polite, respectful, and always cheerful was how I will remember the Raven Killer. James was a special Browns fan who will be sorely missed by all who knew and corresponded with him.”

Football in Cleveland has always been a family affair. From the Browns family and the Browns Dawg Talk Family, our sincerest condolences go out to the family of Raven Killer. Sunday, we remember James Kelly—gone but not forgotten.

Yeah, I remember reading his posts and the one from his dad when I registered here. It made me want to cry

RiP James!

[color:"white"] DawgMichelle

I remember him....very smart kid. R.I.P. RavenKiller.

[color:"white"] Speed Dawg

I remember him too and I did cry. I bet your right tabber, the little fella was smiling from ear to ear.

[color:"white"] maddogmike

I remember reading his posts before I regestered here. I like reading his posts and I'm surprised he was only a 10 or 11 year old kid.

Hopefully his wish comes true this season and the Browns make it to the Super Bowl and win it.

R.I.P RavenKiller

JaftDawg, thanks for the post, yes, James Kelly, that was R_K's name was,it's coming back now and thank you re post from his father also. I was one of members who was involved in having some kind of memorial for James, I had even had a direct e-mail from Zac and Stewart of the Browns FO. I hope someday James wish will be fulfilled for him and all of us here and around the world Browns Fans.

[color:"white"] OldSixtyTwo

wow this thread got me all choked up ......RIP RavenKiller

[color:"white"] dnadawg

i must've registered not too long after he passed, b/c i've only heard memorial-types of posts about him here and there...

after finally hearing the story, i can only add another wish...

RIP RavenKiller...you obviously made an impact in your short stay...

[color:"white"] Damanshot

I'm truly sad to say that I don't remember Ravenkiller, but by all accounts on this thread, I would have liked him alot.

Since I didn't know of this situation, I couldn't have paid my respects back then. So, to the family of RavenKiller, my sincere condolences! RIP Ravenkiller!

[color:"white"] grrr

Wow, I don't know the kid but just reading all of your posts is choking me up. Its so touching that even on a forum board we can all come together and bond in such a way that even after a member is gone, they are remembered. All of you are ok in my book. I feel honored to be around you all.

R.I.P RavenKiller, I hope the Browns can make your dream come true for you sooner than later.

[color:"white"]JulesDawg

I remember having a moment of silence for him at one of NurseDawg's Browns parties. It was very sad and I think most of us think of him every time we play the Ravens.

[color:"white"] gmdawg

R.I.P. little buddy Your posts are missed on the board.

Yep I remember that too and the one at DTI. He was somewhat older than 10 or 11 but still way too young to have gone. He sure did impact a lot of peoplein a short time though and he continues to do so. RIP Ravenkiller .

[color:"white"]brownieforlife

Bringin' tears to my eyes because this kid was the real deal Browns fan.

Last week was only the start of it all, he and all of us will get the real smile after the superbowl and hopefully this year.

[color:"white"] macbulldawg

[color:"yellow"]Ravenkiller...we know you are looking over this message board with a big smile on your face.

Yes, the more I think of it, he was older than 10 or 11 as I originally stated, I'm guessing something between 17 - 19 and as you say, way to young to be not sitting in the dawg pound down here. No matter, he's on the 50 yard line up there, and rooting the guys. Thanks for the correction.

[color:"white"] DEZLDAWG

I felt Raven Killer's smile pouring out from heaven in the form of the early fall sunshine on the way home............That one was for you! Rest in Peace in Buddy, God got a good one!

[color:"white"] Wolfley26

R.I.P. RavenKiller. May every game the Browns play this year carry your spirit.

Oh and I just read a post in pure football...someone is now using the handle Raven Killer (had 2 posts).

I assume it was someone who read on this thread???

I'm not sure if that is a good thing although I'm sure the intentions probably were...I think the Handle RavenKiller should be retired...JMHO

[color:"white"] JulesDawg

I noticed that too and I agree. Not in good taste......especially if he used the name after reading this thread.

[color:"white"] DEZLDAWG

[color:"red"]REFS RETIRE THE HANDLE!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!!!!

[color:"white"] nstabber

Not to be judgmental, but, I agree also, the name should be retired. I'm sure poster had good intentions, of having his name continued on the board, though.

[color:"red"] Referee3

The username has been retired. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, it is the right thing to do.

[color:"white"] SaintDawg

Agreed with that decision.. Thanks ref.

Thank you Ref! One more request......do you think we could put this thread in the archive? That way anybody wanting to know about his history could see it there?

[color:"white"] SaintDawg

I'll second that request. Thats a no brainer
