when Browns coach Hue Jackson coached the Raiders, he said he wanted to draft Kaepernick "in the worst way" in 2011. Hue says a lot of things. Few of them instill confidence in him as a QB evaluator. JMHO #grainofsalt

Colin Kaepernick - QB - Free Agent
Profootballtalk reports it's "completely false" that free agent Colin Kaepernick is seeking $9-$10 million per season.
Mike Florio's report is via a "source with knowledge of the situation." We buy it. A quarterback coming off multiple benchings and controversies still languishing on the open market three weeks into free agency probably knows he's not going to fetch that kind of money. Kap doesn't seem any closer to finding a new home than he did at the start of free agency.

My guess is that Kap stinks and he isn't worth the bother. He is a polarizing figure and he doesn't have the skills to off-set that.
I bet people would have NO problem signing Cam or Wilson had they done the same thing. The difference is that those two can play and Kap stinks!
I want to mention one other thing about Kap. Guys who defend him [like they were on the radio today] mention that there was nothing wrong w/his protest. I agree w/that, but they are leaving parts out. This is just my opinion, but I think people were upset about three particular incidents:
1. Making such a big deal about his political opinions and then not even taking the time to vote. That spells "fraud" in my book. You can't call him a fraud if he is donating his money to many charities when he doesn't even have a job. That is speaking by action, not by words. From a financial standpoint for him, it's pretty stupid, so I commend him on honoring his word.

Browns sign DL Jamie Meder Posted 54 minutes ago Clevelandbrowns.com The Cleveland Browns have signed DL Jamie Meder. He was an exclusive rights free agent. Meder has appeared in 33 games with 15 starts since joining the Browns in 2014. He saw action in all 16 games with 15 starts last year and totaled 48 tackles, one sack and one pass defensed. Meder was named AFC Special Teams Player of Week for Week 16 after he blocked a Chargers’ field goal attempt late in fourth quarter to help Browns maintain three-point lead during a 20-17 victory. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/arti...02-b0d5e785e27e

Malcolm Butler - DB - Patriots
Saints GM Mickey Loomis confirmed the team is "kicking the tires" on Patriots CB Malcolm Butler.
"We’re kicking the tires, I guess is the best way to describe that," were Loomis' exact words. "We’ll see how that process works." The "process" has been going on for at least two weeks. Butler visited New Orleans on March 14. The Pats, as usual, aren't blinking, and are waiting to extract the best-possible offer. Owner Bob Kraft said on Monday it wasn't the team's "intention" to trade Butler. A restricted free agent, Butler has yet to sign his $3.91 million tender.

I don't think Kaepernick is good, he is average. But teams are desperate for QBs. He had 17 TDs and 4 INTs last year. That is worth a chance to compete for a starting job when some teams are going into the season thinking about starting Cody Kessler, Josh McCown, Tom Savage, etc.
Also, nothing Kaepernick has done makes him a bad person. One could argue that he is dumb or misguided or misinformed or many other things. A bad person is not one of those things. True, it's not like he beat his girl or whatever. Perhaps "bad person" was a bit too much. Misguided/dumb does indeed seem better fitting. In any case, I don't want nothing to do with him. I will disagree with you though on him being an average QB. IMO, dude has really stunk it up but he's not been given a good surrounding cast either, but... I mean as you said, teams are desperate for QBs. I'm sure if he was average or above, he'd be signed already to a team already willing to look beyond his stupid choice of actions/words.

Are you ignoring everything else? The socks. The comments about Castro? The fact that he did not vote? Are you ignoring that he only started donating money once he was guided by black activists?
I get it..........he's black. You defend him. What's new?

Did I say he was a great football player? Did I say the browns need to pick this guy up? Did I say we should forgive everything that he did and we need to sign this guy right now? No, I said I commend him for putting his money with his mouth is but you want to make this a black thing and start a fight Typical Vers. (Please educate yourself on where he put his money at, he justed donated 50k to meals on wheels) If you got more to say please open a thread in EE.
