Last night someone treated me to Little Caesar's new Smokehouse pizza. I generally hate their pizza and find it to be pretty cheap, but this was GOOD. Like, really good! I'd recommend it to BBQ fans (and I'm not even a traditional pork, bacon fan).

But it got me thinking about all of my various pizza preferences. I'm not a huge fan of pizza from chains (Caesar's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc) and usually prefer local, more homemade pizza. But, being a bachelor, I've learned to adapt to anything tongue

Favorite chain: Pizza Hut (stuffed crust is my go-to)
Favorite local: A place called John's Pizza in my home town. Thick crust, well done, great toppings.
Favorite toppings: Extra cheese, mushrooms, and pepperoni (once in a while some black olives)
Overall pie: I don't like it very doughy or overly saucy. I like the crust, cheese, and good toppings.

My new favorite pizza here in Aurora, Ohio is the 1815 Tavern. Woodfired brick oven. Thin crust, with Anchovies.....YUM

I like all pizza.... it doesn't matter.....If it's pizza I will probably eat it.

The only thing I won't eat is fish on my pizza because I am allergic to fish.

While I live in Chicago, I prefer NY style pizza. Tourists seems to prefer Chicago-style pizza more than people that live here.

Also, I'm off dairy now, which will drop my pizza eating amount to nothing. Oh well, I like Mexican and sushi better.

Best toppings for a pizza = Crispy bacon, loads of pineapple and a few dashes of green Tabasco

I edited my post to add my favorite toppings.

I know a lot of people sin pineapple as a topping, but it's freaking magical, as long as it's fresh and not canned. Crunch and chew of the crust, acid of the tomato sauce, fatty+burnt flavor of the bacon, sweetness from the pineapple & spicy splash of the Tabasco. #Perfection I guess I left the cheese out. Oh well.

My fav pizza is from the Beach Club Bistro in Euclid. It's gourmet pizza. Pricey but delicious. Try one with sausage, spinach & feta cheese on it, it rocks.

http://www.bcbistro.biz/

Also Giuseppe's Pizza in Wickliffe is really good. They make their famous square pizza. I've eaten it so many times I don't eat it anymore, I already know what it tastes like, it's like it's in my DNA.

I love pizza.

My friend raves about that place in Euclid too ... next time I'm in the area I'll try it

How am I a vegan when I'm eating something made out of cheese? I need to know why you're hating, Swish.

Pineapple pizza is easily the best. Nothing better than tasting a combination of a savory meat, hot sauce and the sweet delicacy of a pineapple. My pizzas are a freaking orchestra. Full of grace, fluidity and counterpoint. Every bite I take brings me closer to God. While you're over there hating and eating a soggy pizza.

I prefer pizza the Italian way....super thin and crispy crust and no matter what you put on it there is usually a fried egg on top.

These days I tend to go for spinach, olives, peppers, feta/ricotta etc. (sorry Swish!) but man, that egg is just perfect especially when you cut into it and the creamy yolk pushes itself around the pie.

I feel the same way about ketchup and hot dogs. If you put the red stuff on there, you better be under 10 years old or I'll knock the dog out of your hands.

If God had intended pineapple to be put on pizza, he would have put pineapple trees in New York, Chicago, and Italy.. but he didn't. God is ashamed of you.

Yep me too.

Hey, for real pizza lovers like me:

Celeste frozen pizza.

Don't laugh.

At $1/each, I often buy half a dozen at a time.

They come out of the microwave in 2 minutes. I jazz them up with tuna fish or salmon and jalapenos and eat them like a taco.

I first really started liking pineapple on pizza when I went to Australia in the late 90's - they put it on just about every pizza. If you don't want it they look at you as if you are asking for pizza without cheese or sauce.

For those in the Toledo area check out The Village Idiot in Maumee or Jo Jo's. Haven't found anyplace in cbus I like as much as those 2 places.

What if you're making pizza in Hawaii? Like, the tree is RIGHT there.

For most of my life, I was a pepperoni or plain cheese guy. If you put ANYTHING else on the pie, I'd refuse to eat it. About 15 years ago, I tried a bite of a girlfriends Hawaiian pie and never looked back. The combo shouldn't work, but it does.

Favorite chain: probably dominos - their crust is too sweet, but i like their sauce quite a bit

Favorite local: Probably Oven & Shaker in Portland (my fave in Ohio was
Adriaticos near the OSU campus, but that was a long time ago)

Favorite toppings: it depends. the one I get most frequently will have bacon and onions on it - sometimes with pep, others with sausage and mushrooms.

Overall pie: sauce flavor is the most important thing to me, then cheese quality, then dough.

To answer the questoin on pineapple, I'm a no on that.

People in Chicago take their wiener condiments very seriously. I've seen and experienced "refusal of service" for attempting to break the Chicago hot dog rules.

I never attempted to put ketchup on my hot dog, but I did try ordering a mustard-only hot dog from Super Dawg (a famous drive-in near O-Hare). They refused. I had to order it Chicago style or order something else, so I got a burger. To make matters worse, my late father-in-law, who used to be the manager there for 20+ years, was with me. I must have embarrassed him.

I was born where pineapples originated from. It's pretty normal for me. Although you do have a point. But I have to remind you that Italians put olives on their pizza, and I know God does not want that.

Adriatico's is still there. But I think their calzones are better than their pizza. Which says a lot because Adriatico's is great. Even though I usually can't stand deep dish or overly greasy pizza, Adriatico's wins me over every time.

Favorite national chain: Jet's Pizza. Pineapple pizza with a cajun crust, hand tossed is grade A. Especially if you have some tabasco smoked chipotle sauce laying around.

I like most pizzas, to varying degrees.

My favorite used to be Tangiers, in Struthers. It was excellent. Then they closed, were sold, re-opened, changed the recipes, and things became extremely inconsistent.

I love Bellerias meatball pizza. It is so good.

Inner Circle is also really good. I also like Marco's Pizza, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, and Dominos. (which just opened again in my area, Yea!)

I will often decide based on which I am hungry fir, and who has specials. lol

As far as ketchup on hot dogs ...... I love ketchup on dogs. I also love mustard, relish, onions, chili, cheese, slaw, pickles, salsa with sour cream, bacon ....mayo, lettuce and tomato, pizza sauce and cheese, sauteed peppers and onions ...... (not all at the same time).... really all kinds of stuff.

My Mom likes ketchup only. Anyone who wants to knock it out of her hands will answer to me. wink rofl

Oh, and as far as pineapple on pizza ...... I have had that before. However, for me it has to be a white pizza with a plain crust, cheese, pineapple, ham, bacon, and a nice breakfast style sausage. (not a spicy sausage) I want my pineapple pizza to be a nice, mellow blend of flavors.

Pizzas - I can eat almost anything but I prefer bar pizza over the chain stores.

Hot Dogs - I gotta have ketchup and mustard. Preferably with a little cheese and onions.

God may wonder who it is you worship as the Pineapples He created do not grow on trees!

This is only acceptable if the pizza has veggies on it because ranch is a salad dressing. Veggies make pizza a salad.

I'm not a chain pizza guy. I guess I would have to say Papa Johns if pressed. It has nothing to do with their pizza but the garlic butter you can get with the pizza. lol I usually only eat the crust with the garlic butter while the rest of the family eats their pizza.

My absolute favorite pizza is Marions. It's a local pizza in the Dayton Ohio area. If you're ever around Dayton, I highly recommend it! Thin crust, light on the sauce with abundant toppings.

In Nashville we found a place we like fairly well called Salvos. They have both thin crust and Chicago style.

My favorite "chain" pizza is Marcos.. I really like the crust toppings you can get..

I don't really have a favorite pizza place.. there is this NY style place in North Raleigh and I can't even remember the name of it, but it's pretty good.

I'm a hand tossed crust guy, I can do thin crust if I have to.. but the real thick, deep dish kind of crust just doesn't do it for me. It's too much like eating a loaf of bread with some toppings on it.
