I use to hate when chicks complained about dinner on dates.

Like yo, you're not paying for this meal. The hell you complaining about? Be glad I didn't take your ass to McDonald's and make you order off the dollar menu.

Reminds me of my Wife, when we were first dating. We had a pizza, and they brought the bill and I looked at it, and said Well, I guess we could just go dutch Huh? She looks at me, and without missing a beat says....Sure...No.. Problem and reaches in and gives me a $20. I had to laugh and say Awwww I'm just kidding.

I was pretty fearless at 21. In good weather, that job would usually take 20 minutes or so. This took over an hour. It was never really cold that day, but the weather was as foul as could be.

You have a good memory.
They were paying us double time 1/2, 24/7 until the all-clear horn sounded. Just a shade under 72 hours. That next paycheck was insane!

And yeah- a month later, that Blaupunkt was kickin' in that little roadster. thumbsup

I got another one:

--I get the Quick Reply thing because of how it is easy during live action events, but damn man...................why in the hell do you people hit the quick reply button when time is not of the essence and why do you NOT just hit the reply button to who you are addressing. It's amazing at how much confusion you cause....

I like the fact that I learned to navigate this mssg board before the 'quick reply' feature was added. It's habit to click on the poster to whom I wish to respond.

I essentially ignore the 'quick box' because I don't always remember who started the freakkin' thread in the first place- especially if the thread gets beyond 3-4 pages.

I've always liked how the board automatically tracks the quoted posts... makes it easy to see who's talking to whom in each new post. 'Quick reply' negates that continuity.

I've been teased in PM's by good-natured Dawgs who chuckle at my inability to 'keep up' **cough[swish]cough**... but it's a bit disorienting when multiple posters carry on a convo, but all are writing in to the OP.

I've gotten used to it over the past 6 months or so, but for a time there, daaaaang- I was like: "WTFIGO?"

Yeah, it's a little thing... but it had me confused more than once.

I'm tempted to turn my posts into "personal teaching pet peeves", but I won't. I feel negative about that, but it's the hardest part of the year right now.

Chain stores that have 50 registers open, but only 5 of them have people stationed at them.

LOL..............I was at Lowes today and there were two registers open. We were 6-7 deep at both. A bunch of Lowe's employees were standing by the doors. WTH?

I AVOIDED Wal-Marts in central Florida for this very reason. They're jam packed with tourists (I went to Publix, instead), and it's liable anything frozen may thaw and get spoiled while waiting in the line.

The kicker? 50 registers, maybe 5-10 are open, and each ends up with a giant line. The line sometimes ended up being as long as waiting for a ride at Disneyworld...

Lol nah. Ask any married dude. There's just certain activities you gotta do with the wifey no matter how bad you wanna just hop in the car and bounce.

I don't have any beef with quick reply, but I do think it's very dumb that the board wants you to specify who you are responding to. It just adds so much confusion to every thread. I've never seen something like it installed on any other forum.

I once asked if the Quick Reply could, instead of replying to the original poster, could instead just says "Quick Reply", or "General Comment". That would eliminate a lot of mis-communication in threads. It was agreed that this might be a good solution, and that it would be looked into .........

And that's the last we heard about it.

I understand that this is an all volunteer board, and that 1 person pays the bills, and I really hate complaining about stuff, but follow up would be nice sometimes.

I hate how there is not an app that sends you push notifications whenever there is a car chase. Especially if said car chase has a live stream.

I also hate when car chases aren't high speed car chases.

Agreed.... but it's a small thing for me, considering all that I get from being here.

I really hate TV providers, because they all lie out of every orifice they have.

I have DirecTV, and it's been OK. I replaced TWC with DT at my mom's house, because DT gave me a deal. I specifically asked the girl about what happens when the promo period ends, because I have had to argue with DT every time a promotion ended. The girl said that there would be no problem, and to just call and they'd add a new promo.

Well, the 12 months ended, and the bill at my mom's house went from $90 to $155. crazy

DirecTV is now telling me "too bad". Well, I can dumo them for a $250 fee, and if I get a better deal elsewhere, I will. They really ticked me off. I don't like being lied to. I asked the guy what he would do if he were in my position, and he said ..... wait for it .... he said that he would understand, and pay the increased rate. rofl Sure he would.

Looks like TWC gets a new chance now. They'll pay an early termination fee up to $500.

You should look into the Dish Network Flex Pack. Don't know if they pay early termination fees, but it's not a bad deal.

I agree with Ted, Dish Network seems to be the cheapest if they have the channels you want without having to do any of the add-ons.

Trouble with satellite companies is that they don't have to carry your local stations so there is a fee if you wanna watch (and who doesn't) local stations.

I think my bill is around $90.00, and that gets me the Hopper DVR and one Joey (extra box for my bedroom), the Hallmark Channel (an extra) the News Package (also an extra) because they didn't offer the News Channel we wanted in the Flex Pack and I think that's it.

I did end up with TBS and TNT so I'm good for reruns of the Big Bang Theory and I'll be able to see the Cavs in the play offs this year (however long that lasts).

Definitely worth a look.

I'm switching both accounts to Dish.

I can get the same package, for $98. That price is locked in for 2 years, with a 2 year contract. Then they also offer a 3rd year with the price guaranteed. I can also get internet that would cost me $69 through Spectrum for roughly $45. (1st year only, though) However, going from 6-10 Mbps to 60 is quite a difference. I have to change all of my online stuff though, because I'll lose my old email address. crazy

I really enjoy the annual tradition of having to fight for a reasonable price, and sometimes have to change providers. (not) Hopefully I'll put a stop to this for a couple of years now.

I like the dish network. Had it for 3 years now. One negative is they charge extra for the NFL redzone even if you have the sports package with the NFL channel. I think it was $10 mo during the season. Can't remember the exact price.

I got internet through Buckeye.

I ask specifically, for the newer modem when I signed up.

They didn't bring it. And my wifi was crappier than I'm used to.

So I took the modem into the store, and they didn't have any of the ones I wanted, but gave me a different one.

My wifi is worse. And has been for a month now.

I just called to request one of the newer modems be brought here, and was told thy couldn't do that. And that I should check in with the store.

Because that's fun for me.

Dish contracts their internet through Spectrum/TWC here. I won my modem, so there should be no problem swithing things around to the same provider. lol

I really hate this too. It's mostly with internet though. You'll get a $45 a month package, but they always bump it up to twice that after a year. Then if you call and threaten to cancel, they'll say "oh well". So you go about having to switch everything around, get another provider to give you that $45-$49 a month rate, and get them to install a week later. So after you do all of that, you call up the original company to cancel, and they're always like, "Oh! You're actually going to cancel?? We can give you the introductory rate of $45 a month if you'll stay." crazy
