Here's ours. Pretty worthless.

CLEVELAND BROWNS
Jamal Lewis signed with the team he used to dominate, the Browns, and will be the team's new featured back after the offseason release of Reuben Droughns (Giants). The Browns did improve their offensive line with the addition of G Eric Steinbach and T Joe Thomas, but the offense as a whole still has questions. As a result, Lewis shouldn't be considered more than a low-end No. 2 fantasy runner or flex starter. Jason Wright is the favorite to be the team's No. 2 runner, while Jerome Harrison will be third on the depth chart.

Well I don't blame anyone for not thinking too largely about us so far. Because Lewis is only going to be successful if the man under Center (whoever that may be) can make a defense pay for cheating up to stop Lewis....(funny thing is that the man under Center may not succedd very much if Lewis doesn't do well..LOL) And right at this very moment...I don't think there is a team out there that is afraid of our QB beating them when they come up to stop the run.....

I think we have to be a run first and make a team pay for stepping up to stop the run... if we can do that...Lewis will be running over many people...

I think for the first time in a long while, it may be the other way around. Especially if Bentley can be anywhere near the player he once was (major if, but I'm naturally optimistic).

I can definitely see us pushing the pile and getting the surge off the ball this year, and if Lewis is truly healthy, we may have enough to put Quinn in and have him succeed (for a rookie, that is, I'm not expecting Roethlisberger-esque miracles).

I don't care if we have the greatest line in the world. If they are stacking the box, we won't be able to run. Teams will stack the box until our quarterback makes them stop.

The QB has to spread the field in order to force teams out of the box. By that, I don't mean he has to throw down field. I mean five to fifteen yards from the line of scrimage, the WHOLE width of the field.

The best teams are the teams that are able to run when teams stack the box. I've seen film on Cinci and Denver successfully running against 9 in the box. I think we may be on that level if Bentley is anywhere near the player he once was.

Just sayin'.

I'm glad noone expects much out of us. It's going to make getting to the playoffs that much sweeter. I know the odds are long against that happening, but it seems every year someone beats the odds. Why not us, why not now!?

every year people say that... every year we don't finish games and every year we end up where we are predicted. I don't think 8-8 is out of the question but, I think going to the playoffs is. JMHO

i dont think the Browns making the playoffs is out of the picture... They can do it by doing 3 things:

1) Winning time of possession
2) Keeping the games close
3) Executing

Also by scoring more points than the opponents in 11 of the sixteen regular season games.

I think you are putting way too much faith in Lewis and are expecting way too much of him.

You are setting yourself up for disappointment.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

like prev yrs, we will have to win by our scheme, b/c we don't have talent to run over people yet. In previous years, as far as i could tell, we had no scheme.
If we have a clever one that keeps opponents guessing (no 3rd and 8 throwing of a WR two step pass, or vickers option passes) we may have a chance. Time will tell.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I actually think it was a mistake to move this to Fantasy/Gaming forum from Pure Football. The Reference link was a write up about FF, yes, but it was just in support of a pure football topic. It was an assessment of the Browns backfield in reality not a fantasy browns backfield.

It would be like moving any pure football thread into the tailgate lot because the link was to the Plain Dealer. JMO.

You misspelled a key word in the title.

You meant "Assess" as in offered a view.

"Asses" as the plural of .... ahem. Umm... you know.

Man i was thinking Droughnes had that really long run against Miami this year or was it last year? 70 some yards was it?...or maybe im wrong and it was less...and it was this year...who knows...

If our offense gets it together and accualy looks like a Professional Offense who can move the ball and mix things up, we might have a chance.

05...man it was that long ago 2 seasons....oh well good memories. Hopfully in the years to come we can get more of those type of runs, and plays in general.
