Slightly Official Rules
These can be changed at any point during the draft to allow for greater fluidity in the face of an unforseen obstacle.
----
The Cleveland Browns

1. The Cleveland Brown's first four picks in the NFL draft will be voted on in a poll lasting for 24 hours.

2. Players must be nominated by two different board members to appear in the poll. Members are only allowed one nomination per pick. No member can second more than 4 players per that pick. If these rules are broken, the member's selections will not be counted.

3. The nomination process will start after the selection of the previous Cleveland Browns selection.

4. Board members will either vote for who is GM after the Browns last second round pick, or have a very violent king of the hill tournament.

5. The Browns are allowed to trade picks throughout the draft. However, the board has a 12 hour time limit to decide whether to trade the pick or not. Vote done by a poll. However the Browns, during the first two rounds, cannot propose a trade to any team. The team that trades with the Browns will have to make their selection immediately after the 12 hour window.

6. After the Browns last second round pick, when a GM is found for the team, the Browns will then adhere to the conventional rules of the league in terms of trading, time limits, and selection independence.[

The Draft
-------
1. All GMs must try to make their picks in a timely manner. The time limit is not entirely for pondering, it's to give you enough time if you face any conveniences with your life and getting on here to make your pick. Please use it accordingly.

2. For the first round, every GM will have 10 hours to make a selection. The clock begins after the GM before you makes his selection. I will attempt to immediately notify every GM when they are on the clock, but my omnipresence skills are still developing and I won't always be able to do so. You are still expected to make your selection during the time allotted.

3. For the second through fifth rounds, the time limit for selections will be 8 hours. For the sixth and seventh round, the time limit will be four hours.

4. Trades are allowed. However, they must be accepted within the first two hours of that selection's time limit and the pick must be in an hour after that. Both teams must post that they agree to the trade in the draft thread.

5. The time limit will pause at the hour 3AM EST and immediately resume at 8 AM. Picks can still be made at these times, but the time limit will not be enforced.

---

How does that look? I'll probably put up the Garrett #1 pick poll tonight around 8 pm.

People can now start double dipping for GM's. Just remember that CleveSteve has one. New guys can still get priority, so if you haven't gotten in, now's your chance.

On trades, a couple questions:
1) can we trade future picks as well as picks this year?
2) can players be included in trades?
3) should we have a rule that says any trade can be overridden if 4 or more GMs don't agree it is a fair trade (or something like that)

My advice would be to only trade current year picks. There's no accountability for future picks. Also, no players. Too much to check on regarding cap implications. If you're going to include trades, better make it for only current picks.

I am not participating, but I think trades should not be allowed. You'll have guys like cfrs wanting to trade out of every draft choice and it will be chaos.

You can't even come close to predicting trades.

Thanks CHS for all your energy in putting this together.

Can I request maybe we have two separate threads once we begin: One for draft picks only (no comments) and one for comments on the various picks or speculation on upcoming picks etc? Thinking that one thread on its own will become super heavy and difficult to wade through once the picks come in. Just a thought.

Cheers again for your efforts.

I knew it was feeling light.

Updated Rules since the following post:

3. For the second through third rounds, the time limit for selections will be 8 hours. For the fourth through seventh round, the time limit will be four hours.

----

Trades

1. GM's are only allowed to trade picks during this year's draft. Absolutely no players can be traded.

Missing A Selection
1. If you miss your selection, your team will automatically draft the highest player from either that team's preset queue or BPA will be taken for that team.

2. Every GM is allowed to have an ever-updating queue of players, just in case they are not able to pick during their time limit. It's up to the individual GM's to update said list. GM's can either post their queue in the draft talk thread or PM the commissioner. If I do not see the queue, or every player on your queue has been selected by the end of the pick's time limit, then BPA will be selected for you.

3. The methodology of BPA will be explained by the commissioner during the forced selection.

With the draft beginning, I'm pretty happy to see literally no one voted for Mitch Trubsiky at #1. Now let's hope the FO is as smart as this forum thumbsup

So can we announce we want to trade here on this thread and then if anyone wants to trade we can give and receive offers through PM ?

Yepp. And just have both people post in the official thread so we can all see and verify the trade.

Or in your case, if you know you want to trade and you know how far down you are willing to go, you could PM the specific GMs you were looking to trade with with a proposal.

This isn't FirstPick. You have to take initiative.

PastorMarc, to save you time, Tennessee isn't interested in trading up from 5. If anything, I might be interested in dropping a few spots as well.
