---------------------------------

The Tribe takes on Jonathan Moneybags Lucroy and the Texas Rangers to start the season.

Storylines For The Year:
-Will Josh Tomlin win the Cy Young?

-Why does Sanata lead off if he just gets on base by taking walks?

-Will Francisco Lindor still exist as a defensive liability this year?

-When will the Dolans spend some money?

-Why won't the MLB endorse redface?!

Also, we got this bum. Crfs says he's good based off of his baseball stats from a few days ago:

Enjoy the season!

More story-lines today:

"Come on Corey for cryin’-out- loud."

Kluber has never won his first start of the season. (0-6)

Two Indians games scheduled on ESPN in April. Today and April 19th.

Then not again until July 9th.

Looks like we gots a good crop of cheese and potato pierogis this year.

The Rockyhill 2017 Indians “Bunk Odds”

(quit your day job, sell your house, cash your 401(k) and ride these odds to financial independence)

Odds for the 5 opening day Indians’ starting pitchers:

All 5 going a full season as starters: <1% (less than 1%)
Exactly, 4 of 5 going a full season: 25%
3 of 5 going a full season: 45%
2 of 5 going a full season: 25%

Odds the Tribe will have at least one new (permanent) starting pitcher in the rotation by season end: 80%.

The best teams in MLB history only win ~ 2 out of 3 games. (2/3 * 162 = 108 wins)

The 1954 Indians hold the MLB record for be the best winning percentage ever for a season.

The 1954 team went 111-43 (72%).

My Odds:

Odds the 2017 Indians will finish above .500 - 95%
The team wins at least 90 games - 75%
The team will win at least 95 games - 50%

Vegas has the 2017 Indians win total over/under at 93.5. (50%)

The 2016 Indians won 94 games.

We are right where I want to be, we are the most non discussed AL champ ever. All I hear is Boston , Houston and of course the Yankees. I don't want many ESPN games messes with the travel , show the Cubs, Mets and Sox on a loop . We will fly under the radar again and I'm fine with that.

For you guys who follow the Tribe closely, can someone tell me why those chose Kluber to start on opening day?

Never mind. Dumb question. I got him mixed up w/Bauer. That's embarrassing. blush

That's why we sign Edwin.

Look a little stale tonight overall on O, but this line up will be crazy good when Kipnis gets back and if Gomes returns to old firm.

Tribe win! Great comeback guys!

Whew that was close. With only 161 games left, I was about to say, theres no way we will make it out of the cellar with this loss. Might as well blow it all up.

7 unanswered runs!

Kluber finally settled down after lacking command early on.

Overcame Lindor's double play back to Darvish with the bases loaded.

Nice diving grab by Diaz at 3rd. Hit the ball hard all night.

Santana had a nice game at the plate.

Miller was dynamite. Allen shut them down.

On a side note, really happy for Brantley getting the 9th inning base hit and RBI insurance run.

Almonte had some really good ABs.

Edwin!

Kluber struggled until he didn't.. the offense couldn't get going until it could.. and the bullpen was typically lights out.

Nice win for the Tribe. It's always nice to get win #1 on day 1. laugh

Yep!

I was pressed for TV time yesterday, had to get a DVD back to the library, it's already a few days late. I turned the game on and we were losing. I turned it off and watched my DVD instead. I got online today and was so happy to see we won the first one yesterday. (Hey-now!)

I have to admit, it still burns thinking/seeing the Tribe. I don't remember when I turned the page after 1997, but it was a while. Come on, an extra innings Game 7 loss, again? It's hard to reboot after that.

We played a team that was a little bit better than us and we ended up losing to them - I think that's pretty much it. (Simplified version! laugh )

And we played them while missing our best player, and 2 of our top 3 starting pitchers.

There is nothing to be ashamed of there. It;s like the prior year, when the Cavaliers fought their way to the Finals, and missing Kyrie and Kevin, just didn't quite have enough.

Right, I get all the "we weren't supposed to be there" and "we lost to the better team" thing.

I suppose I'm still battling just the basic fact we were there, had the chance to win at home in Game 7 bottom 9 tie game and didn't get it done.

Maybe it's worse since I'm reminded of it daily being in Chicago and living with a Cubs fans (although, she's not that big of a fan). I haven't had a break from the reminder.

I'm sure I'll shake it eventually, it's just been harder than normal. And what's odd, it came after the Cavs won. I should have been able to turn the page a lot faster. Weird.

I think the announcers got it right that that reversal is not in the spirit of why they instituted the rule.

I think it should be used for over changing very obvious calls (bang bang at 1st, tag/no tag at home, etc.). Reversing a call for when a player came off the bag for 1/30th of a second is way too ticky tacky for my liking.

Thanks............but it was a total brain fart by me. I am terrible on names and I just started watching baseball again during last year's playoff.

I appreciate you covering me and no one else jumping my ass, but man, that was a dumb ass comment by me. LOL

I'm just waiting for Lindor to get that first hit. Seems like he has runners on every time he's up.

Go Tribe!

Allen with (3) consecutive strikeouts after giving up back-to-back lead off doubles to end the game. This bullpen is nasty.

Going for the sweep tomorrow.

I absolutely love the way the bullpen is constructed.

Heck, I love the way this team is built. This is going to be a fun season. laugh
