Incredible. Lindor made a bit of a boneheaded play that cost a couple runs. Followed with a solo shot the next inning and wins it with a grand slam in the top of the 9th.
This team is a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

That lineup (especially when Kipnis returns) is going to be brutal all year.
You can go ahead and file that sentence under "duh"
Awesome game though

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Gee, not a bad start to the season.
Sweeping 3 games from the previous year's regular season American League leader.
On the road. And all three are come-from-behind wins.
Who needs starting pitching?
As Dave would say: "Tribe's on pace to win 162 games."

j/c... Here is Lindor's postgame interview. He was most concerned with his gaffe in the 5th and possibly costing Salazar the win. What an incredible player and person.... https://twitter.com/SportsTimeOhio/status/849832453623627777

Awesome game and love listening to Hammy's calls. I think it's hilarious that they show the girl crying at the end of the game. Either: someone needs to tell her there's 150+ games left or she lost a very bad bet. I hope she's not a Cav's fan, because this regular season would've been rough on her

As someone else mentioned, this wasn't beating some scrub team at home ..... The Rangers were the AL leader last year with 95 wins last years. Nice way to start the season.

Her man now has a 72.00 ERA.

My internet was bad out here, and the video feed was choppy. I was a bit miffed about it, but I got to listen to Hammy's call live.
He's really good at showing excitement for both sides, too. He's underrated on a national level.

Oh I know and agree, they have one heck of a lineup (and they were missing Beltre). I definitely didn't expect a 3 game sweep this series.

The Rangers didn't lose 3-in-a-row at home all of 2016.
And Rangers didn't lose 3 games to the Indians (5-2).
They play each other again on June 26th. Four in Cleveland.

Storylines For The Year: -Will Josh Tomlin win the Cy Young?
-Why does Sanata lead off if he just gets on base by taking walks?
-Will Francisco Lindor still exist as a defensive liability this year?
-When will the Dolans spend some money?
-Why won't the MLB endorse redface?! I take umbrage with the Lindor remark. He won the AL gold glove for 2016. I call your attention to paragraph #2 below. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/mlb-the-five-best-shortstops-heading-into-2017-0104171. Francisco Lindor, Cleveland Indians Good offense paired with good defense is an understatement when talking about Francisco Lindor. His offensive production is good, with a batting average of .301 in 604 at bats to go along with 15 home runs, 78 runs batted in and 99 runs scored. Along with his offense is his stellar defense. Lindor had a .982 fielding percentage to go along with 12 errors in the field. His 2.7 Defensive Wins Above Replacement was tops in the league for shortstops and definitely contributed to him winning his first Gold Glove Award in 2016. What makes Lindor the best shortstop on this list, besides his mix of offensive production and defensive prowess, is what he brings to the game. He always plays hard and with a smile, making him one of the most exciting players to watch. He is also a winner, helping the Indians make it to the World Series for the first time since 1997. His production didn’t stop in the playoffs. In 58 at bats, he hit .310 with two home runs and six runs batted in. Being the best means coming up clutch, and Lindor does just that. This season is going to be a big year for shortstops, with most of the players on this list playing for contenders. On the other hand, baseball is not easy to predict by any stretch of the imagination. There could be surprises in 2017. We are just along for the ride.

Darn cheap Dolans .... Indians will reportedly try to extend Carlos Santana before he hits free agency - CBSSports.com http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/indian...ts-free-agency/The Cleveland Indians are having a good year-long run. They were within a win of taking last October’s World Series; they made one of the savviest free-agent signings of the winter when they inked Edwin Encarnacion; they’re nearly the unanimous favorites to win the American League Central; and so on. The Indians aren’t satisfied with their fortunes just yet, however. How do we know? Because the Indians reportedly intend to try signing first baseman-slash-designated hitter Carlos Santana to an extension before he hits free agency this winter, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports: Word is, the Indians quietly will try to extend Carlos Santana, who is a year away from free agency, at some point. Kendrys Morales ($33 million, three years) and Mark Trumbo $37.5 million, three years) could be reasonable comps. Obviously the Indians’ willingness to pay such prices is to be seen, but you can understand their desire to retain Santana. Since 2014, he’s hit .242/.364/.444 with 81 home runs and nearly as many walks (323) as strikeouts (346). Add in how Santana is a legit switch-hitter -- one who is productive against each hand -- and there’s a lot to like in the profile, even if he is encroaching upon his 31st birthday. We’ll see if the Indians can find it in their budget to keep Santana around. At minimum, it appears they’ll make the effort.

Players like Santana are very cheap right now. I'd lowball him and if he doesn't accept let him walk.

A few notes:
Josh Tomlin finally begins his 2017 American League Cy Young campaign tonight.
Tyler Naquin only needs 29 homers this year to keep pace with Hank Aaron. Then he only has to average 38 homers a year for 19 more years.
(I don’t count Barry Bonds).

Fortunately after today, the Tribe only has two more National League west coast games all season (in June @ Colorado).
These games are brutal. Especially at night and especially for the pitchers.

Right.
That was a tough road trip to open the season.
I'm sure our starters hated the 2nd or 3rd inning when they had to bat.
Especially at night in the west. (so 8 pm local time is 11 pm Cleveland time)
Good thing - only two more NL west coast games the rest of the season. (June - Colorado)

You don't really think the Pacific time zone kept our pitchers from being able to hit? These guys have been in Arizona since late Feb. They couldn't hit this weekend because they can't hit; they're pitchers. My biggest complaint from this weekend is all the hitters seemed to swinging for the fences - even Lindor and Ramirez, who were both very good situational hitters last year. Yan Gomes, when he was right, hit about half of his balls to right center. Now he looks like he trying to jerk everything, even outside pitches.

I agree with ya , but Coach will take care of that in the course of the season .. This team ( like most others ) plays better with the lead .. Early season , gettin behind , pressing , expectations ...
PS: I HATE INTER LEAGUE PLAY , save it for the All Star and WORLD SERIES !

PS: I HATE INTER LEAGUE PLAY , save it for the All Star and WORLD SERIES ! I don't mind interleague play .. it mixes it up a little bit. It's kind of neat to see the Tribe play the Mets, Braves, Dodgers, etc ... what I don't like is the mixing of the rules
