Haven't seen this anywhere: What are you guys planning to do for the 4th?

I'm going to see fireworks tonight in Athens (woohoo) and then going to the bars. Tomorrow is going to be spent working on a paper and my Fulbright application. Lucky me.

So, what about you?

Not sure. Eating some grub at the in-laws, eating at the neighbors and kick back with a few beers. Then my sister wants to use my back yard to set off her and her boyfriend's fireworks, so that'll come later.

Nothing too extravagant.

We will be going to see a parade tonight (If it doesn't rain) then tomorrow some food on the grill followed by fireworks at night.

I tell everyone that the food on the 4th is far and away better than a crappy dried out turkey on Thanksgiving. Give me a steak or even a burger any day over what we have on Turkey day

Watching the fireworks 3 sets of fireworks shows all at the same time.

Down here in the "low country", its is all islands. So I will be watching Paris Island show, Downtown Beaufort show, and Hilton Head show all in one sitting.

Homework, homework, and you guessed it, more homework. I will be in Columbus on Friday till Sunday for my brother's wedding so I must sacrifice the 4th to get my work done so I can party this weekend. So I have a fun filled day of programming and watching the girls. I'll just pop a extra pain pill or 2, maybe take a study break and play Madden or change a poopy diaper WOO!

Could be worse, I could be working

I'll be doing a cookout at my Dad's house all day, then possibly fireworks sometime in the evening.... that or go home and call it an early night as I will have to get up for work on Thursday morning.

Had plans to chill out, drink a few beers, have some good BBQ - but we're having a production system issue for about a week now and I'm working til 4am, then I have calls at 9am, 2pm, and 5pm also. Woohoo...

Someone please have a beer for me, or 2.

115 is the forecasted high temperature here tomorrow. If I go anywhere it may be to a movie. Although the thought of getting back into the car that has been sitting out in that heat for a coupe of hours isn't all that appealing.

Way off subject, but you reminded me. My brother's friend started up a clothing line at one point. Called it Effin.

As in, "where's my Effin shirt?"

I will be grilling my whiskey marinated steaks, watch some fireworks, then watch a movie to get drunk to. I may even go for a walk, before getting drunk.

Since pretty much the rest of my family is working, and since no one else invited me to a "can't miss 4th of July extravaganza" ........ I offered to work.

I figure that I go on vacation in 2 weeks .... so I'll be nice.

6:30 why did you sleep in so long

Slept in till 5 am this morning Computer time, workout, shower, then kick back and watch a few hours of TV. My wife is working today, daughters in Florida on vacation, so it's just me and my son at home today. I'll relax till around 5 PM then throw a few steaks on for us, start pounding a few beers, and make sure the house is spotless since we have friends coming over around 9 Pm tonight. Watch the fireworks at 10 Pm with approx 30 friends and family at our house, while pounding a few more cold ones. In bed by 12:30 and back up at 4AM to start a long workday on thursday.

Went to the riverfront last night to hear the symphony play the standard 4th music and watch the fireworks.

Today I will do what I really like.....nothing much!

Probably grill up some steak bobs for dinner, but haven't decided at this point.

Each year, my husband and I take my mom down to Ripton to visit my dad's cremains at the National Cemetary there. Today would be his 77th birthday. After that, Mom'll probably take us to lunch.

Other than that, we don't have any plan. Maybe watch the Boston Pops on the Esplanade if it's on TV somewhere while listening to our neighborhood explode.

It wouldn't be a holiday without a Rocky marathon on Spike TV.

I have no family out here, I might go to a fireworks display later. I might stay home as I can probably see the fireworks at the Airforce Academy from my balcony.

It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!
