yeah, my bad. hit quick reply.

Michael was the starter in Seattle. To be outright waived is surprising to me. Rawls must be okay though.

Thanks for your civil reply - you're a good guy. I apologize for the snarky tone of my post. The "quick reply" is a pet peeve, and I was in "a mood" last night. Sorry.

Colts part way with veteran LB D'Qwell Jackson

ESPN Staff Writer

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Colts have released veteran linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, the team announced Thursday.

Jackson led the Colts in two of his three seasons with the team. He missed the final four regular-season games in 2016 after being suspended for using performance enhancing drugs and finished one tackle behind Mike Adams for the team lead.

Age and money likely played a factor in his release. The Colts will save $5.5 million in salary cap space as the 33-year-old Jackson was scheduled to make a $5 million base salary in 2017 as well as a $500,000 roster bonus due March 13.

"D'Qwell is a consummate professional," coach Chuck Pagano said in a statement. "The way he approaches the game is second to none. His leadership and mentorship provided a valuable example for the younger players on this team. We are grateful for all of his contributions to the organization and wish him the best."

Cutting ties with Jackson is the first significant move by new Colts general manager Chris Ballard, who will have to address the linebacker position through free agency and the draft. Robert Mathis retired, and Erik Walden and Trent Cole are both free agents.

Jackson was selected to his only Pro Bowl in 2014, his first season with the Colts, who signed him after he was released by the Cleveland Browns in a salary cap move. In 2014 he had 140 tackles, four sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.

He again led the Colts in tackles in 2015, posting 150 with three sacks, an interception that he returned for a touchdown and a forced fumble.

I wasn't aware DQ ever was a pro bowl select, interesting.

I'll always have a love for DQ. Stand up guy, gave his all being a somewhat undersized linebacker. Wish him nothing but the best but with the enhancing drugs and being 33 is probably not a good showing for him. I still would've liked to see him play out his last year of his contract in indy but obviously not/wasn't my decision.

I just don't know at his age. What is he? 34 or so? I'd like to see it, but we'll see

33, will turn 34 in Sept.

The fact is he had to turn to Enhancing drugs as he lost a step due to old age. Ergo, 4 game suspension last year.

Adams still amazes me as he has been an good FS for years after letting him Go.

Adams FS, TJ Ward SS would have gone a long ways for our Browns.

As has been mentioned by many, the overturn of our Roster due to Change, Change, and more Change with no continuity we lost a lot of talent that could have had us vying for our Division. No QB but at least our D could have been built up to be a top 5 D!

forgot about his suspension. I'd assume all skill/athletic type players (WR, RB, LB, DB) must do something like that once they get past age 30-32

He wasn't great, IMO he was a bit above average and a solid citizen overall I think. Lasted a long time in the NFL, looks good on him.

Yep. He did have one fairly impacful season, (with us) but other than that he was pretty ordinary.

I would say that DQ is an above average level LB. Didn't like it when we let him go.

Eh maybe 1 year but above average starter in the nfl is what you'd call Jamie collins. Dq has never been that level

I would say that 2006, 2007, 2008 were good years, then he got hurt.

then 2011, 2012, 2013 he even got better.

I can't disagree with that I just would never call him a top 20 ILB which is by definition above average. Maybe a few seasons he popped into that conversation though

Looks like Cruz will be available. I hope we're not interested in him, he's always hurt, but you think some team will have a look at him.

The Ravens announced Tuesday that they have terminated the contracts of safety Kendrick Lewis and cornerback Shareece Wright.

Lewis, 28, has played seven seasons with the Chiefs, Texans and Ravens. He started 15 games for the Ravens in 2015 but was a backup last season.

Wright, 29, also spent the last two seasons with the Ravens and started 15 games in that time. Wright, who previously played with the Chargers, has one career interception in 67 games.

I don't really want him, and I doubt he would want to come here, but I'll continue to follow the drama. I dislike the Cowboys, but Romo's career is a good story, and the guy can play (you know, when he's not injured).

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

The NFL script writers are hoping Romo picks the Texans so they can write up the very easy Houston vs. Dallas Super Bowl storyline.

Well, Bailey stunk so we knew he was gone, and I thought Howard had a good year, or is it another Howard? Like howard III or something like that?

I'm surprised about the CB Tracy Howard. I believe he is supposed to be on the next episode of "building the browns". #awkward

They put him in at safety a few times, but i believe his natural position is CB.

I assume at least 2 of them will sign with whomever plays in the SB next year so we can hear about how we are stupid and cut them and "refuse to keep our own"

Why didn't they just do it sooner? Especially with Bailey? Not trying to sound too much an a-hole, but wow that dude was pretty bad.
