Just wanted to let everyone know that this Saturday our condo development is holding it's annual garage sale. They do this once a year where all the condo owners can hold a huge garage sale together, instead of everyone doing one on their own. Each year it is a big attraction for the garage sale seeker. I am participating for the first time and we have a TON of stuff for sale!

DETAILS:
WHEN: SAT, JULY 7TH
TIME: 9AM - 2PM
WHERE: LOCKWOOD RIDGE CONDO'S IN CONCORD (NEAR MENTOR)

More info...
Condo website: http://www.lockwoodcondos.com/welcome.htm
Further directions: http://tinyurl.com/2wxk7d

Lockwood Ridge is conveniently located:
> 1/2 mile from intersection of I-90 and Rt. 44
> 1/2 mile from Quail Hollow Resort and Golf Course

I personally do not do much with garage sales but this annual sale is a big one from what other garage salers have told me here. There's over 300 units here, so it doesn't take too many to make it worthwhile if that's your thing. A whole bunch of garage sales in one spot!

Hope to see you there!

Why? You can't post about a garage sale?

337 - yes, get off at 44, turn left on Auburn (first main street - just watch the split in the road). Go straight on Auburn, past a flashing yellow and the development is on the left-hand side. Should be balloons and stuff as well. Hope you find what you are looking for!

IF the refs are going to be consistant:

Yeah you can't really advertise anything, but I saw it so I'll try and check it out.
We are moving and looking to buy a few things like a desk, kids bunk beds, curio cabinet, lamps, ect for the new place. So if anyone see's this and wants to rid themselves of anything PM me.

Hey, in case this thread doesn't last long...

I'd contact Habitat for Humanity about this. They'll often come in after the sale is over and take a lot of the big stuff off your hands, and you can write it off as a charitable contribution.

I understand that they don't want you to come here saying - VISIT ME AND MY WEBSITE AT XYZ.COM. Makes sense.

But a community garage sale? Come on. Lighten up.

Don't get me wrong....it doesn't bother me.

I'm just letting you know why, if this thread disappears.

I just might show up at 3:00am.

FYI - ad ran today in the News Herald for anyone interested.

The weather outlook looks absolutely perfect for a garage sale! It'll be warm, but no threat of rain! Weather Link

While we're at it advertising a garage sale...

HUGE Garage Sale in Chardon this weekend on East King Street. It's my aunt and uncle's garage sale but pretty much the entire extended family has stuff there to sell, so good ol' Ammo gets a cut of the profits.

It may be against board rules, but geez, it's not really hurting anything..

Question for our seasoned garage salers - what am I probably not thinking about having/doing for the garage sale? I know I am going to miss some stuff, just hopefully not a lot. We have most everything labeled, I got $100 in change yesterday, did some advertising, have signs... just not sure what some of the not so obvious stuff would be. Thanks!

Make sure everything is priced slightly over the cost you're actually willing to accept, but not too high. You need room to negotiate, but if you go too high then you won't get any offers. Remember you've put this stuff for sale for a reason, you no longer want it!

Another question - I think I might just donate the proceeds from whatever I sell. Should I make a sign or something and tell people that or not? I just want to move this stuff and I'm sure a charity could do more w/ the money. What do you think?

Thats a great idea! You can donate it to the "337 is Poor" fund!

I would make a sign on the table you have set up. I think thats very nice of you too BTW. I am going to try and stop by.

BLENDER? BLENDER??? That, my dear, is the best damn STAND MIXER ever made. Jerk! LOL!

Side note: if you have a mixer you want to get rid of and it's still in working condition, do NOT sell it at a garage sale for $5. At least put it up on eBay for a good deal more! I bought an old one from the 70's for my sister for $50 about 2 years ago. They hold some value pretty darn well!

Come one, come all to the Lockwood Ridge Garage Sale on Saturday!

These garage sales can be a lot of work if you want to sell your stuff! I can't believe how much time I've put into this thing. Hopefully it will pay off on Sat! Thanks for the advice everyone and see you Saturday!

Thanks to everyone that came out! It was a great turnout all day long!

FYI for those that missed today - a few of us in the development decided to continue the sale into Sunday since today went so well. So if you missed it, on Sunday from 9am - 2pm we will be open with prices you can't beat! Everything must go!

I came by on Saturday with my mom. Was only able to hit the north side of the complex due to the heat (mom on oxygen). Found a few nice things. Will definately do it again next year if you have it.

fgb - The association usually does this once a year. This was my first one and probably won't be doing it again for awhile. It took quite a few years to get this stuff together that we sold and I *hope* we don't need to do this for awhile!
