Mary Kay Cabot‏
#Browns now have plenty of ammo to trade for #Patriots QB Garoppolo. Have the 25th this year, 2 first-rounders next year and three 2's in 18

What do you guys think of the compensation we received from Houston vs what Buffalo received from KC?

Would have been nothing wrong with drafting 11 front 7 defensive players this year, and rolling with the same folks who got you 1-15 last year.
Trading out of 12 when, well it's basically saying that ALLL THE GEMS WHO WERE STILL LEFT ON THE BOARD, were junk, and ALLL THE JUNK that teams have given you by wasting picks on them, Corey Davis, Fourtnette, John Ross, Lattimore, Trubisky and Mahommes, who you may not have even wanted,
All that junk were the only players you could see taking, and now since they're gone, you got to trade down, becaouse ... "nobody's left worth taking" (which is, astronomically insanely the opposite of correct).
The purpose of being a front office is to take a gamble on players, which may or may not ever amount to anything.
Is this doing their job? No it's not.
Next years picks won't score 1 point in the 16-17 season, or Stop 1 point from being scored against you.
Did they get anything in the next 3 days for passing up almost everybody?
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Hooker would not fit in the AFC North. Why would he not fit in the AFC North?

Depends on where they end up.

Don't think it can't happen. And I called it before Mary Kay cosmetic! Lol, seriously no matter what we do, I'm glad we got Garrett.

This trade just turned my guts into boiling mush! TO thin we could have had the best defensive line in all football for the next decade just makes me go crazy. We turn a top 15 pick into two low first round picks ... just makes me sick...

What do you guys think of the compensation we received from Houston vs what Buffalo received from KC? Buffalo traded 10 for 27, a 3rd this year, and a 1 next year. We traded 12 for 25 and a 1st next year. I think they are pretty even. Buffalo dropped 4 more spots and get a 3rd for it.

Just have to say this:
If we pick a good player, the trade looks great. We won't know the result of how good that player is until games start.

I wonder if they want to trade down because they're targetting one of the top offensive tackles? The goal of free agency seems to have been to build the Oline. Maybe they get a Right Tackle?

Houston has a great D that will improve with JJ Watt returning .. on O they have Hop and Miller at RB ... He won't be asked to do much ... ALSO ... i don't see how he could possibly be worse than BO was last year ... he was BEYOND HORRIBLE ...

Personally, I would have gone for a defensive player on the board. But for a first next year and Peppers, well it may turn out ok.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

I think he can thrive in Gregg Williams' defense and I hope he proves his neigh sayers wrong. I want him to be successful. He's now a Brown and until proven otherwise I support it. I am REALLY glad we didn't overreach on Trubisky, Mahomes or Watson (or at 29: Kizer).

I love the trade. Stars can be found anywhere in the first round. More picks is better and we still got our blue chip at #1.
The only thing that spurs it is Watt going to the Steelers. It seems like Pitt takes my guy every year.

hopefully he fits Williams' scheme ... it seems he might. He's pretty versatile. It does sting to leave all of that talent though.

I just can't stomach that we passed on Allen being right next to Garrett. It's depressing how bad the decisions they make outside of the obvious.

Do you think that Houston will be have a pick in the top 12? LMAO
What a dumb ass trade. Hooker was right there for us. We also got their first this year. Oooooooo ....because we pick so well. Wouldn't that make you want more picks? Yeah, that worked out so well for us last year didn't it?

If we use the pick in a package next year for JG or Cousins then it was a GREAT TRADE IMO ... cause then we gave up the 12 for Peppers and part of the JG package ...
If not, .. WOW ...

Proclamations of failure or instant success are futile.
I wouldn't have made the trade because I would have taken Hooker or Allen. . . . I also would have taken Rueben, like many - and he fell to the end of the round.
OJ Howard - I'm more than happy with Njoku. In fact I am thrilled and think we got a serious difference maker.
Hooker versus Peppers and a 2018 #1 ??? I think anyone claiming that is an awful trade at this stage is being extremely judgmental and closed minded.
I think if the Browns had traded Joe Thomas or given up a large package of picks to go get Mahomes, there would have been a lot more people saying the FO is incompetent and more upset than they are now. ... I think as many would have been unhappy if we took Watson at #12.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

That defense alone probably carries them to 6-7 wins by itself. Assuming your QB isn't terrible.

not to mention, the division is weak (they won it last yr with Osweiller)

So here's hoping Tom Savage is so terrible they switch to Watson who isn't ready yet and therefore is also terrible. They got 4-12 and we get a Top 5 pick.

I'm starting to wonder if there is some stigma associated with Alabama trench players.

I like the trade. DE, S, TE & a 1ST round next year.
I said I wanted Hooker, Howard or trade up for Adams. Not sure there is much separation between Peppers and Hooker or Howard and Njoku.
Obviously, no one knows how it will shake out, but looks good to me.
