Well we still have the #20 overall pick in the second round and the first pick in round 3...who are you guys wanting with those two picks?
I'm under the assumption we loaded up on picks to get the big gun QB next year...so rationally we won't or shouldn't take a QB high this year...Was originally thinking Webb in round 2...but with us going for QB big next year...might as well shore up other weaknesses and grab a QB later this year for the depth spot.
2. Budda Baker FS- Pairing him with Peppers would be a dream for our defense...will be the playmaker with an enforcer edge...our secondary is improving leaps and bounds...last yeara safeties are now solid depth, where they belong...improves the coverage and speed of the defense.
3. Jourdan Lewis CB- We have oft injured Haden and Taylor and not much behind them...I know this adds to alot of secondary picks...but this is where the depth is key...Lewis is a tenacious corner whom sticks in coverage, when we go to nickel we won't have that sudden drop. Will take away one of our corners jobs eventually.
Later in the draft (as we traded our 4th rounder) we can grab a QB, DT, RB, WR, RT

There are still a lot of talented secondary players that would be great. Budda Baker, Josh Jones, Marcus Maye, and Marcus Williams at safety are all intriguing. There are almost too many corners to mention, but I know that our staff was intrigued with Chidobe Awuzie. Along with him there is Douglas, King, Wilson, Tabor, Tankesley, and a bunch more.
I'd also like to see us take a receiver at some point. Zay Jones and Cooper Kupp both make a lot of sense.
There are the QBs. DeShone Kizer and Davis Webb are the big names. I would not be shocked if we drafted one of the two.
I don't think we should take them, but I think it is worth throwing Dalvin Cook and Joe Mixon out there as a best player available scenario.
If forced to choose I think I would take Cooper Kupp because I think he could come in and play right away. There are a ton of corners, so we could probably wait on them and end up with someone pretty good anyway. Same with safety.

Depending on the medical reports, Sidney Jones would be a great pick up at #65.

Our WR core is weak...We have Britt and unproven Coleman and alot of young guys they drafted after Coleman whom didn't show much or anything...Loius, Payton, Higgins...We definitely need to upgrade our trio of top WRs...however not sure if the FO will spend another high pick there after taking 4 of them last year...but they should as Britt Coleman and Louis in 3 sets aren't going to scare defenses

If Obi lasts to 52, I'd be intrigued. Another versatile piece on the back end with good range.
John Johnson would be an alternative later.
Would like to add a bigger back like Conner or Perine.
Came across another sleeper who might be worth a late flier in Devaroe Lawrence at DT.

I am not sure running back is a priority. Jackson proved he was able to manufacture a running game last year with no QB and a bad line. Crowell and Johnson is a decent one two punch.

He gets hit he goes down. I want a RB that just won't go down. A guy that can get the tough yards. If we need 2 he almost always gets 3.

What happens if Crowell gets hurt.... We don't have anyone behind him. Not that can run the ball 20+ times a game and be effective.... We at the very least need depth in case. A big guy that can pound it would be nice.....

Came across another sleeper who might be worth a late flier in Devaroe Lawrence at DT. I love Conner.. and definitely advocate for taking him late in the draft as he could be a threat near the goal line and provide insurance if our 1-2 punch at RB gets injured. Obi is so talented...heck I hear some teams covet him even at CB for his man skills...Im thinking he'll be gone...but if he is available he can be an asset...a counter weapon to all of those big WRs and help cut down mismatches. Dt is still a need even if it's someone later...Ill have to check that guy out

Play good defense and run the ball. That is what we need to do. We don't have much at QB but we DO know that Brock can play good enough to win some games if he has a D and a running game. I don't hate Crowell. He played well last year. But SO FAR he hasn't shown that he can be that stud RB that can be a top runner. 1400+ yards and 14+ rushing touchdowns. If that changes this year I'd be thrilled. I still want a RB that can at the very least back him up and get a first down or a TD when it's 3rd and 2. I was kind of hoping we would sign LeGarrette Blount in FA.

the downside to trading up for Njoku is the fact we aren't in the cat-bird seat going into round 2. I liked that 33 position. But I would like Baker
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Forget about QB until next year, look at FS and CB along with WR

I missed a lot of the draft...but BPA.
if FS Marcus is on the board that's an option o would want.
Also want a 3-tech DT
Then if they're actually looking at QB (which I doubt now) then 52 would be the right value spot for either Kizer or Webb

Yes, I wouldn't mind at all having a larger RB, someone who weighs considerably and is straight up smash mouth. Doesn't have to be the fastest player in the world, more of a hammer type is what I want. Meaning if you give him the ball at the goal line its almost a guarantee he's in the end zone.
Find what you love and let it kill you.

NO QB today. Stick to the plan. Defense.
It wasn't hard to figure out what we need to get on this team. But we're at least attacking it.
FA OL moves were perfect.
Taking a weapon in Njoku.
Major Pass Rush move. Immediately helps the Secondary.
Peppers is going to be our SS. Also Return Man (Thank God)
Now top the Defense off with a Real Center Fielder.
Priority MUST be to get the FS we like best.
Baker and Williams are both there. MOVE UP if we have to to land the back end help needed.
We land Baker or Williams and we just attacked the Defense. All 3 make major effects to the other units.
Garrett helps the Secondary. Peppers helps the Run D. Baker/Williams helps the Corners and Pass Rush.
Stick to the Plan. Get the FS. Then do whatever else you want the rest of the way. DT, WR, RB, CB.

CB ... Kevin King, Quincy Wilson, Chidowe Awuzie, Tabor DT ... Malik McDowell S ... Melifonwu, Desmond King RB ... Kamara, Cook, Mixon, WR ... Zay Jones, Chris Godwin QB ... Peterman, Webb, Dobbs OT ... Robinson, Garcia
I would be happy with any of these players, depending on who is available at our picks. Some may be.. some may not be.

I woke up to see pick 12 being traded and was surprised to see we picked up Peppers. However, he seems a good fit for Williams' scheme and seems the kind of player who will excel if you play to his strengths. Love the other 2 picks plus picking up the future 1st.
Would love to see us pick up one of the below -
Marcus Williams S Utah Budda Baker S Washington Kevin King CB Washington Chidobe Awuzie CB Colorado Marcus Maye S Florida Obi Melifonwu S UConn Desmond King CB /S Iowa Sidney Jones CB Washington
There is still a boat load of talent left and I'd like to see us pick up a pick in the 3rd or late 2nd somehow.

Assuming Obi is gone at 52 I now want Marcus Williams at 52. Assuming King will be gone for 65...[censored], Sidney Jones, Zay Jones, Hunt/Mack, Peterman/Webb/Dobbs at 65?
Edit: Why is "[censored]" Tabor censored?

lol, I'm not sure! I've noticed a couple of instances of the language filter being a little over-zealous. I need to remove some of the checks from it.

I see us utilizing Mid-Later round picks to move up. Moving up from #52 I think will happen. Too much talent there at the beginning of the round.
also we could be moving into the 2nd round from 65.
I've been saying all along that we do not need the Quantity of picks we will turn that into Quality. We have 4 5th round picks and the first 6th round pick. Look for us to package those to get guys we want...possibly leaving one for a pick at KICKER.
But it won't surprise me if we come away with 5 great picks and our draft will be DONE! jmho

Baker and Lewis would be sweet. Not sure if either will be available at those two picks, but it would be great to select both guys.

Ideally Baker and Tabor....
Realistically?? Really hoping Marcus Williams falls to us and maybe take a flier on Sidney Jones (who has 1st round talent) in round 3. Sit him this year and hopefully he is ready to be a starter in 18.

10 players at positions of need and 5 QBs to know for Browns entering Day 2 After Thursday’s trade with the Green Bay Packers, the Browns no longer enter Day 2 in the driver’s seat. They certainly aren’t complaining, though. In exchange for the No. 33 pick and a fourth-rounder, Cleveland picked at No. 29 and landed talented tight end David Njoku. Still, the Browns expect to be busy during the second and third rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Browns hold the No. 52 pick, which was acquired in a trade with the Titans last year, and the No. 65 pick, which kicks off the third round. And if we’ve learned one thing, it’s that you can’t discount the Browns on the trade market. Here are 10 players at positions of need and a look at five quarterbacks still available. WR Zay Jones (East Carolina) - A mega producer (158 receptions, 1,746 yards as a senior), Jones was one of the top performers at the 2017 Senior Bowl, where the Browns were coaches. DB Kevin King (Washington) - One of the tallest cornerbacks (6-foot-3) in this year’s class, King was projected by many to be a first-round pick. DE Demarcus Walker (Florida State) - Even after the selection of Myles Garrett, you can never have too many pass rushers. Walker had 21.5 tackles for loss and 16.5 sacks last season. RB Dalvin Cook (Florida State) - Originally pegged by many as an option for the Browns at No. 12, Cook could be the best available running back entering Day 2. DT Chris Wormley (Michigan) - NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock ranks him as the second-best interior lineman in this year’s draft. DT Malik McDowell (Michigan State) - He’s one of the few players invited to Philadelphia who is waiting to be drafted. A polarizing prospect, McDowell was low on production during his final season with Spartans but is high on potential. WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (USC) - A former teammate of Cody Kessler’s, Smith-Schuster racked up more than 2,300 yards and 20 touchdowns in his final two seasons with the Trojans. S Marcus Maye (Florida) - The Browns addressed a need at strong safety with the pick of Jabrill Peppers but could use some depth at free safety. Maye might just be the best available option. DB Jourdan Lewis (Michigan) - Another Wolverines defensive back? The Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year could certainly make sense at No. 52. DB Sidney Jones (Washington) - Projected as a potential top-15 pick before an Achilles injury, Jones could be viewed as a steal at this stage of the draft. QBs DeShone Kizer (Notre Dame) - He’s waiting in Philadelphia for a team to call his name. The athletically gifted Toledo native was much better in 2015 than he was in his final season with the Fighting Irish. Davis Webb (Cal) - Considered to be one of the “risers” over the past couple of months, Webb showed off his big arm for Browns coaches at the Senior Bowl. Nathan Peterman (Pittsburgh) - He started his career at Tennessee before flourishing with the Panthers. NFL.com compares him to Washington’s Kirk Cousins. Joshua Dobbs (Tennessee) - A four-year starter with the Volunteers, Dobbs is highly regarded for his smarts and is one of the more athletic options remaining. some of these guys:
Zay Jones (WR) Budda Baker (S - although I hear he is more strong safety so doubtful) Josh Jones (S) C. Awuzie (CB) C. Samuel (WR/RB) Q. Wilson (CB/S) D. Tomlinson (DT...really love his wrestling background) D. Kizer (QB...why not?) J. Mixon (RB...I'm ok and I'm sure Dee would have to approve) Alvin Kamara (RB) Marcus Maye (S) Marcus Williams (S) D. Cook (RB)
I'm coming home, I'm coming home, tell the world I'm coming home
