You should have asked that instead of playing coy. The Lousiana wetlands were floodplains, now after 50 years of being underwater, they are no longer hospitable lands or could be considered floodplains. Since flooding requires land to be water free, and these lands are not, they are not "flooding" or floodplains. They are permanently underwater. They are a flood plain in the way that the Bering Strait is a flood plain. It's not. It's now land underwater. The problem now isn't, "Oh, people lost their house", but "The sea is getting closer to civilization and threatens people who live in cities near oceans and all of us."

Do you see the difference now? If you had problems following along, just ask for help. Breaking down into tears and asking for Walter Freeman isn't a way to search for answers to questions you don't know.

You do realize that wetlands are not dry land dont you? Its by definition underwater marsh. It was never dry land.

https://www.epa.gov/wetlands/what-wetland

You are crying about water that got more wet. Only in a liberal mind does that make any sense.

This is why it's so hard to argue with Conservatives. Because they often make up claims. If you go to her evidence they clearly state, "Wetlands are areas where water covers the soil, or is present either at or near the surface of the soil all year or for varying periods of time during the year, including during the growing season". They can't even stop lying long enough to copy and paste. Personally, I think it's the tears blocking their vision. It's weird. Either way, being submerged underwater isn't where "water covers the soil". The difference is the same as covering your bathtub in water, and filling your bathtub with water. If you cannot grasp the difference, then I implore you to cover the bottom of your tub with a little bit of water and shove your face towards the bottom of your tub. Hold that position for 30 seconds. Now take your head out, fill up the bath tub to the brim, smash your face towards the bottom of the bowl, and hold your face there for 30 seconds. After that you can understand the difference between wetlands and ocean, in regards to water volume.

I know what you are saying, but we are not talking about flooding. We are talking about areas being underwater permanently.

I guess it was just hard for me to fathom someone saying they dont care if millions of people are misplaced because where they used to live is underwater. I know actually caring about someone besides yourself is not the Republcan way.

Actually you can:

As the Earth has warmed, it has become too hot to be outside. As you can't go to the beach anymore, you have little to no motivation to exercise, eat healthy, mani-pedi, or anything else to maintain your hot bod. This makes you depressed, and that depression manifests it self in binge eating.

Plus, burning calories creates additional CO2 emissions. Everyone knows this.

Nice, pick one of the only Glacier's on the planet that defies climate change and ignore the rest. Typical conservative BS.

You should educate yourself by looking things up. There are many growing glaciers and the Antarctic Ice Sheet has grown.

Put away the tissues and educate yourself.

How does it defy climate change? Glaciers grow as snow melts and refreezes. If a glacier glacier has enough snowfall, it can grow. This is not salt water freezing into a glacier. It's snow.

Oh, don't get confused, I do believe the Climate is changing and the Earth is warming. I just don't know if it is caused by Mankind, being the science has been politicized.

So I have to investigate it on my own. What I am finding is...

Liberals are willynilly
Conservatives are superconfused

You know what I find funny about these conservatives arguing in favor of their corporate slave masters? They are to blind to realize that the same corporations actually advertise about how clean they are and are trying to be in the future due to innovation.

The corporations are actually making more money today than they were ever before.

Yet the sheep still think it hurts business.

So you use to tell the truth when you was a teen, but as you got older you decided to tell lies and have a sheep mentality?

Kinda backwards, but whatever floats your boat, bro.

Most are argueing against the sky is falling fear mongering liberals keep proclaiming. Instead of saying "investing in clean energy will benefit us in these ways..." They say "invest in clean energy or our cities will be under water" which never happened.

I have. Shorelines are actually receding in some place. I just thought if I pointed out Miami it would be more relative to Americans.

Things like:

Solar, wind, geothermal energies
Lab grown meat
vertical farming
Carbon Air filtration Buildings
LED lighting
Earth friendly sustainable building
Replanting forest and saving the rainforest
sustainable fishing and conservation practices
healthier diets

These all help the world but have big money opponents that will do anything to stop them. If we were a thinking society we would pour money into techs like these and throw out the old bosses.

Don't know much about it.

Gets a lot of money from the gov't.

Same thing. Many tax breaks available for this.

Hasn't this been a big push for a while?

Earth friendly sustainable building
Again, there's tax breaks, tax incentives, loans and grants for this.
Quote:

Replanting forest and saving the rainforest
Can't speak for other countries, but in the u.s., this is going on and has been for quite a while.
Quote:

sustainable fishing and conservation practices

If you think this doesn't occur, you obviously are not a hunter, a fisherman, or any type of out doors person regarding nature. Again, that's here in the U.S. Why do you think they have limits?

Why does the state charge for a fishing or hunting license? Why, if I go to Michigan to fish, do I pay many times more for a license than a Michigan resident? Why does Ohio, every year, change deer limits in some counties?

Here's the answer: To maintain sustainable levels of wildlife.

Conservation? Get ahold of any reputable fish or wild life agency - that is the whole goal.
Quote:

healthier diets

That is preached constantly. Only problem with it is it takes more effort on the part of the individual. Convenience rules, and junk food/fast food, pre packaged food wins the heart of the consumer.

You're talking "the world", and I'm talking the states. The u.s. can't do much to correct or increase or rule or enforce anything over foreign nations.

I do, I have taken several climatology, meteorology and other related earth systems classes at tOSU. Those are known as interglacial periods, time between advancing glaciers and warmer temperatures. It was my understanding those traditionally happen around every 14,000 years, due to a combination of precession and obliquity of the earth's orbit.

Those have to do with natural variations in the earth's orbit around the sun, as well as the earth's tilt, which occasionally wobbles, resulting in advancing and retreating glaciers.

Dude, that was almost half a century ago. You can't compare our understanding of earth systems that long ago to that of today, see Moore's law. Because you were told of an ice age in the past does not refute the truth of today.
