This draft was loaded with talent , and we did OK .. I would have staid at 12 / 33 and 52 for the draft .. O J Howard at 12 and no QB until the forth or later ..
I like what we did....a few names I don't know and Kizer was NOT on my radar at all. I am encouraged that many analysts seem to like DK and that he has the potential to be the guy (and the potential to be another bust). Headscratcher on Brantley considering all the talk these past couple years about "character". I like that they moved back into the 4th to get Wilson. Clearly, they liked him so targeted him to got him. Hope he pans out.
I really like Ogunjobi and hope he proves to be a solid player. Judging on what I read and listening to him you couldn't ask for a better dude. His entire University and their alumni have instantly become Browns fans!
I agree. I hope, for once, that our QB works out with Kizer. Were more than due. I agree about Brantley, wish we would have passed, but now he's here hope for the best. I really like Gun also, great guy, hope he works out. I really liked the rest of our draft.

I want to do it as a Cleveland Brown because that's who I am.”
For the first time in many years I believe the Browns are on the right track.
They did not reach in this draft. They selected players at the right spot and they are building a team that if things go as planned should make the Browns a very good team for the long haul.
Last year I was literally sick to my stomach when the Browns passed on Wentz. And I still believe Wentz will be a very good player. However, the team needed assets badly. Last years draft to date has under-performed. But there are some guys who may still be good productive players.
They made the obvious choice of Garret but could have reached for Trubisky which would have been an error.
At 12 there were some very talented players they could have selected at first I was disappointed. Howard was a guy that most felt was a low risk high talent guy. Plus Watson was there. It would have been easy to take Watson. For me I am glad they did not take him. Like the guy. Think he had a great college career. But I had problems with many parts of his game.
They traded back and got a first rounder next year. That means 9 players in the first two rounds for 2017 and 2018. That is heavy capital.
Then they get Peppers. I do not care what his critics say. This kid is a baller. He will show up big time under Williams and contribute in many ways.
They then jump back into the first and get Njoku. This guy may not be at this point as complete and polished as Howard but he could be very soon plus you add a first rounder next year. Hey that is a good deal.
Getting Kizer at 52. Well worth the risk at that value. He has the potential. If he he reaches his potential we struck gold. If not we are not married to the pick like we would have been with Trubisky high in the draft.
The rest of the draft they selected players off their Board. Some may pan out others may drop out. That's the case with every team.
I was very skeptical of Sashi. I am beginning to think we may have finally found the right structure and people to build a real team.
couldnt say it better bone. I was just discussing it last night ... I finally feel like our FO/coaches are on the right track
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
It is great to feel optimistic. It has been a long dark tunnel. It is hard enough losing but when you see no hope it becomes depressing and difficult to watch.
This coming season should show improvement but no miracles.
Next year we should be on a upward path for many years.
To further relate my opinion on the draft, this is the first year I can remember since 99 where people weren't screaming about certain picks, and how they would never watch this team again. That gives me an odd feeling of hope. Most of the experts seem pleased with our picks, and even the ones that aren't are not panning us. That also gives me hope.
truth be told, this board and our fans seem to be as patient right now as possible. I know it's tough, but I do trust this FO and Hue. Give them as much time IMO

My CBS app is saying it would have been Hooker if we'd stayed at 12. Passing must not have been due to injury concerns. Kind of disappointing-it'll be interesting to see how He and Peppers pan out. And the future first.
You mess with the "Bull," you get the horns. Fiercely Independent.

We traded out because we got the 2018 first rounder. We liked Hooker, we liked whatever we would get at 25 and the 2018 first rounder more (by we I mean Sashi Brown).
From Silver's article it seems like they were very happy to get Peppers though. I think he was a nice compromise.

We've already seen what being impatient has gotten us since 99. Why not take the radical change and stay the course for once?
Agreed. This team improved. But now we need to cheer against every team that plays the Texans this year. Bump those picks up. But I do like Deshaun Watson.

One of the side benefits of all these future picks is that we always have teams to root against (in 2018 it will be the Texans and Eagles).
Yeah I saw that. Guess I'll have to shut up about how we dropped because of injury. I wish we stayed and just took him, but I guess a #1 in 2018 was to good to pass up. I think Peppers will be good though, I know he seems really excited to be here. Go Browns!

You're right. It doesn't mean these guys will be anything special. I do, however, value Brugler as on of the best in the business so I'm hopeful with some of these selections.
But I'm sure he has been wrong before so we'll see.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.
