Surely one of the WRs, including Coleman, will step up and make themselves a reliable target. Higgins, Ricardo or someone.

Coleman NEEDS to step up and stay healthy. I'm not very high on him, but yeah, kid did break his hand which is a little important being a WR. I think missing all the camp with the hammy was devastating for his progress too.

Then you have DeVavle and now the new TE, which I really liked when I watch his videos, to throw to.

Is it best? Definitely not, but if the line holds up and gives some time - I think we'll be able to find some open targets in the passing game. Especially via play action, which I feel should be killer for us. Running the ball will be crucial for the success of our offense IMO.

Well, let's keep pretending Gordon isn't walking through the door.

WR - Coleman, Britt, Higgins, Louis, Payton, Hall, ??
TE - Devalve, Telfar, Njoku, ??

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think DeValve and Njoku in two TE sets could present some problems to defenses.

Add Coleman, Britt, and Duke on third downs and that's a lot of different things to cover.

If only Doug Dieken was still playing we could have another receiving threat at LT

It won't be for Cleveland.

I only wish I knew for sure who's going to be on the roster on Day one.

Coleman and britt for sure.,

I suspect the new TE and DeValve will be there.

Duke will be there.

Beyond that., Who knows

Factoring we didn't draft a WR, we've already made room for the new TE - I'd assume Higgans/Louis are safe and the staff see something in them.

I guess there's always other team's cuts though.

We have WRs that are going into their second season, and a decent TE also. Kenny Britt is a good reciever, and Coleman flashed what he can do until breaking his hand.

I can't see how everyone is dissing the guys we drafted last year. There is some size and speed there. Sure their rookie seasons were not much, but there are a bunch of them and to rule them all busts is no being realistic IMO.

I think one or two of these guys will show up this year, and with Britt and Coleman, we will have a decent set. DeValve is going to be a good player, and the new TE is a pretty good one too.

Saying we have no one to throw to is just a garbage statement in my eyes.

I like Ricardo Lewis. He actually got some play time last year. The guy is a big dude with speed. I expect him to make a jump this season.

I think receiving production will go like this:

1. Britt due to experience and physicality at the position.

2. Corey Coleman whose biggest assets will be pure speed, quickness, and YAC.

3. Devalve/Njoku the TE position will get a lot of targets this year to help the QB and both of these guys could make 30 to 40 catches.

4. Louis who had a modest number of reps last year seems ahead of the other receivers we took in '16.

5. Higgins could establish himself as the primary slot guy.

Just my S.W.A.G.

I believe we will become more of a two TE set team with Seth and the Ninja ( I call him that because I never saw someone his size slip into the open easier than this kid).

We also have Crow and Duke who can really catch. Duke may be our best receiver. Britt I thought was starting to peak last year as a route runner and really came a long \way as a receiver.

Then we come to the guy with Randy Moss ability and Cheech and chong lifestyle. Who knows lol

lastly we have Coleman. I have very little hope of him becoming more than a Browns bust to be honest but some receivers the really good ones, make huge strides in years 2 and 3. So lets see what happens.

Anyway, I really like the idea of creating some serious mismatches with our TE's and Duke. Kenny Britt is tough to handle one on one due to his size he is like another big TE out there. and then the speedy Coleman and Duke.

We will have some options.

Use Duke as a flanker or h-back on some plays. That might help get him the ball more.

Which is on par with my original thought that he wanted to see more of our Long Snapper...

I'm sure we'll see enough of him.

(Yes I know that's Hughlett)

The WRs are now an even bigger concern w/Pryor's departure and the us not drafting anyone this year.

Bigger concern or the same as last year?

They swapped out Pryor for Britt. Seems like it's pretty close to the same as last year. Coleman should be better if he could stay healthy so there's that.

If this draft pays off, we could focus on receiver next year.

Huge concern both years. Pryor surprised me. In a good way. Coleman surprised me. In a bad way.

I think Britt sucks. We'll see.

Behind Britt and Coleman none of the WRS do anything really special
Britt has size and better than average speed but it never parlayed into him being a difference maker on the field
He has 30 tds for his whole career
He's reached 1000 tds one time only
Coleman needs learn all the routes of the route tree and how to keep DBS off balance

I think that we will see more Duke out wide and in the slot.
At least that's what I would do.

No it isn't, and that is a knock on the guy. We'll have to see how that goes. I just think of the guys we drafted, he seems to be the best. Higgins didn't show much and Jordon was lifeless last year. Not sure he can even make the team this year, but that is why you have camp. All are 2nd year players. They say the biggest step happens between year 1 and 2. Lets hope that is the case.

X = Coleman
Z = Britt
Y = Njuko
S = Higgins/Hall for me I would put Devalve in as a slot or wide and drop Coleman or Britt in the slot.

In any case for me Devalve is our 4th WR whether you wish to call him a TE of H-Back or WR is up to you wink
