LOL...........I know a lot of people dislike me on this board and the anal thing will be an easy joke. Go for it.

Here is what I want to address, though: When I was younger, I was very spontaneous and thought it was uncool to plan for things or make lists. However, when I started teaching..........I realized how important being organized is. My entire life changed.

I admit to having the following habits and it's tough because my wife is just the opposite. I organize things. She piles things. Here are some of my anal characteristics:

--Dishwasher: I put big spoons in one bin, small spoons in another. Butter knives in one bin. Forks in another. Ladles, steak tenderizers, other large silverware stuff in another. It takes a second longer to place them in those bins, but saves quite a bit of time when emptying the dishwasher.

--This one is pretty bad. I organize my spices in alphabetical order. I hate wasting time looking for things. I put them in alphabetical order to save time when I am cooking.

--Morning routine: While brushing my teeth, I go to the bed and remove pillows to prep for making the bed. I also walk around while brushing teeth and open up all of the blinds on the window. Saves time.

--Closet: I have my shirts organized by colors. Not a huge deal, but I never put navy by black or cream by white, etc.

--Drawers: I do the same w/socks. Never wanna wear blue socks w/black pants, dawg.

--Shed and garage: I have peg board up and hang my tools in a logical order. I also traced them so it's easy to find where they are supposed to hang.

--Pantry: I have all snacks on one shelf. Baking supplies on part of another. Broths, soup mixes, etc together. Sugars, flowers, corn starch, etc together. Oils, glazes, vinegrettes, etc together. KCups, Hot chocolate, teas together. Various tomato products together. Pastas, beans, etc together. You get the idea. It's only to help find things quicker. My wife is always messing this up. She just throws things in there. Annoying as hell.

--Fridge: I had it so organized, but my wife's sloppiness has overwhelmed me and I have kinda given up. I organize it occasionally, but it's ruined w/in a day. LOL

Those are just a few of the things that I do to help me organize my life. My wife thinks it's anal and she does her best to disrupt things. LOL

I'm pretty anal about there not being any cold water in the fridge.

Like, I mix my pre-workout powder with cold water before hitting the gym. I can't drink it warm. My wife has this system where she uses the a filter to fill up big ass water jugs, because we don't drink pop or any sugary juices like that.

So it sucks when I open the fridge and there's no cold water to drink.

It's actually a really stupid thing to get upset over, but you know how routines are, bro.

I know, if you're not familiar with the character, he was Frazier Crane's younger brother on the tv show Frazier, portrayed by David Hyde Pierce.

Fastidious to an art form, and HILARIOUS!

I don't know how to embed video's, but Give this a watch!

I am more of a simple man

Dishwasher..... she loads it, I run it and put everything away when it's done.

Spices...... we don't have enough of them in the house to misplace any or have trouble finding them.

Who makes their beds when company is not coming that will see your bedroom?

Closet... 99 percent of what I own and wear is Cleveland Browns. I just hang it in there, it all matches anyway.

Drawers.... see closet

Shed & Garage... I don't own a shed. Tools are in one of two cabinets. I can always find what I want as I don't pretend to be a handyman and need more tools than I know what to do with.

Fridge..... I don't bother much since my wife stuffs her leftovers in there and leaves them till the chia seeds are growing through the containers. I make sure I polish off my leftovers the next day.

I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.

One thing that has always bothered me through the years...
Putting Things Away Where You Found Them. I have had a habit of hanging my keys in the same spot, hanging my tools up when I'm done. It just goes right through me to go and grab something and it's not there. banghead

What about your shower, teeth brushing or clothes routines? Do they ever change?

For example, I wash and then rinse my head and face twice with this sensitive liquid soap, then wash everything else with bar soap and then wash once more with the head/face. Every single time, in that order, no skipping, never a simple "fast soap and rinse".

Same with teeth. I brush outer uppers, brush inner uppers, brush outer lowers, brush inner lowers and then re-brush all fronts (inner and outer). Mouthwash after.

As for the clothes, I suppose you wouldn't do pants and then underwear, but you know what I mean. Do you always put socks on before pants? Always right sock first? I do.

I would say I was far more like that when I was younger. I felt details were extremely important. As I grew older I learned to pick my battles better. To not make every detail so important. While it suited me just fine I realized focusing so much on minor details tended to drive others in my life stark raving mad. lol

I still keep things like my keys, phone and wallet in the same place all of the time. It helps from having to keep from looking for them in the case they are misplaced. My desk is pretty much the same way for obvious reasons. I have certain drawers for socks/underwear, t-shirts, jeans and pajamas.

But overall I'm not as obsessive over the details as I was when I was younger.

No, I don't do those things. And I exaggerated a few things like the shirts and socks. I just try to do that because there were times I put on the wrong color while dressing in the dark while getting ready for work. Wearing black pants w/a navy shirt doesn't go over well at schools. LOL

Mostly, I do the things like loading the dishwasher, the spices, etc to save time. I absolutely despise wasting time looking for things.

I don't do color coordinating in the closet, but i'll be damned if shirts aren't facing the same direction and hangers aren't rotated the same way. My wife's side of the closet is complete madness.

Loading the dishwasher is the same. She just puts things everywhere, and then gets ready to run the dishwasher after putting like 5 things in there (exaggeration). I take over and move things around and fit the rest of the dishes in there.
Speaking of dishes, I don't put soiled dishes in the dishwasher. Everything gets hand-scrubbed, and then goes in.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I am pretty OCD about my tools and my tool boxes

I have a large Cornwell Box as well as a MAC Tools rolling service cart and everything has to be lined up and in its place. Screw drivers have to be by type and in the holders small to large, pliers etc are the same . My socket trays are the same deal. Hammers, small to large.

I’m probably a bit more obsessed with time than most people.

For instance, throughout my life if I told someone I’d meet them at a certain time, I made sure I was there almost always early just to be sure I was at the appointed place at the agreed time.

The only times I was ever late to meet someone were because of extraordinary circumstances
beyond my control. But still this was rare because I always built in cushion for unexpected delays during travel to meetings.

I’ve known a few people in my life that agreed upon meeting times were/are more “a general estimate”.

They’re never on time. I’m not sure what they’re thinking.

“Oh, it’s 5 pm, I better start getting ready to go.”

Wow, you are worse than I am.

Again, I just do those things to save time. I get highly irritated if I have to spend time looking for things.

I'm more OCD at work... Not necessarily my office, but it r work areas are really well organized for the most part... Most of our supply closest are all very well labeled so we know what's missing and what we need to get more of.... Also have outlines for larger items... Still need to organize a few more areas of work but trying to save on budget

My wife is major OCD, but I'm the complete opposite.
I'll give a couple quick examples of her:

1. When she leaves for work, she locks the door, twists the doorknob three times to the left and taps the top of it twice. EVERY TIME. But ONLY when she's going to work, otherwise she doesn't care.

2. You know how when you adjust the volume on your tv it shows the numbers on the screen? For her, she has to have it on an odd number, can't be even.
I think that's weird.
Sometimes she annoys with that stuff lol.

My wife is the opposite.

She decides to recycle the day after recycling day.

She piles things on the counter and the kitchen table right after the cleaning lady leaves.

She spends a great deal of time searching for things because she can't remember where she put them.

We have tons of cheese and other similar items because she isn't sure if we have any at home.......which, of course...we do.

She puts new items in front of older items, which invariably leads to the older items expiring and being thrown away. She then complains about money.

I find all of these things "weird." LOL

Another thing I find bizarre: every morning as part of her routine, she grabs one of those hand-held dusting things, and wipes off the front edge of the top of the fridge. One easy swipe, and that's the only thing she "dusts".

Mine puts older ones in front. She's very particular! Also, food items have to have the label showing. In other words, if I put a can of peas on the shelf facing backwards, she turns it around.

LOL bro..........

No offense, but the older ones should be in front. What's the point of buying something, only to have it expire and have to throw it away. That's a waste of money.

I gotta agree the dusting thing seems weird. LOL
