"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Awesome. Great find that fell late in the draft to our benefit. There's rumors/speculation about his motor. He'll have to earn back the money he lost in that fall. Hopefully it inspires him to work hard to earn it in his second contract.

State's attorney report on #Browns Caleb Brantley: was apparent no reliable evidence upon which an arrest or prosecution would be warranted https://twitter.com/ScottPetrak/status/864900226708119552

ehhh. Great player but I hate women beaters. Without the incident he's probably a 1st/2nd rounder and one of the best 3Ts in the draft.....so there is that.
On the other hand the guy is a total douche.....hard to root for that type of guy. You were saying?

NRTU,
I'm somewhat curious to hear a little more about the charges being dropped. Is this a case of Brantley sneaking out because of a technicality, or no?
I know the prevailing theory is that this girl is just looking for a payday, but whenever I hear 'insufficient evidence' my mind immediately jumps to 'got off on a technicality'.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

interesting comment . In the military there is a saying they can not make you due anything . To solve discipline problem have Zeitler (spelling)block him for about 12 straight weeks that should solve motivation issue.

people need to pay close attention to the last sentence in the second paragraph. just because she's a chick, doesn't mean he can't defend myself if she decides to act like a dude and start punching him. some people need to get over this captain save her attitude. every woman ain't a princess.

Could he conceivably opt not to sign for us and re-enter the draft next year? Just thinking - nothing good happens to the Browns without reverse Midas effect...
Glad to see he was cleared.

His contract will be slotted to his draft position. He'll get a contract appropriate for a 6th round pick. His only other option would be to hold out and go int next year's draft ..... but that would probably not go well for a guy with motor questions.
I am glad that he will have the opportunity to help improve our team, The more I read about this case, the more it sounded like she started things, and probably fell down drunk outside the bar, and tried to blame it on him. I am sure that her being under age and severely inebriated did not help her cause.
Anyway, hopefully we hit a home run with this pick.

I wonder if he'll pursue compensation damages. I would. Why prolong something that almost cost you your career? Count your blessings and move on. Because he perhaps lost hundreds of thousands of guaranteed dollars falling the rounds that he did. And who is to say he is going to even be successful in the NFL and recoup that money in a second contract....or maybe he'll have a career-ending injury? Let the lawyers in Florida handle it while he is up here practicing in Cleveland. I don't see it being a distraction whatsoever.

Great News, I am happy that they spelled out the details to show how much of a Horsecrap claim it was. Huge win for Front Office. All Mr Brantley needs to do now is play football and his $$ will return. This could end up being one Helluva Draft class.

A counter suit would be pointless and a further waste of money. Lastly, this is fantastic example of why we shouldn't ever hold trial in the court of public opinion. Reading the press release, it is exceedingly clear that the media had most everything wrong in what they reported. The media CONSTANTLY gets things wrong, or just outright blatantly changes or omits facts to suit what serves them as a better story.

Our D-Line just got that much deeper... There's clearly too many mouths to feed at this point so I think we're gonna see Bryant get cut pretty quick.

I'd still look into it. I'm no lawyer but how about the clear misinformation from media outlets that ran with this witch hunt story and, to what you said, got everything wrong? The news had a clear impact on his fall. I doubt an underage woman has wealth worth pursuing and doubt you could go after family money from Dad/Mom. I just feel bad for this guy. By all accounts, he got screwed over.

You could absolutely attempt it, but in order to win you'd have to convince a jury of negligence or something on the part of the media, and I'm betting the media companies you'd go after have deeper pockets and more lawyers on retainer than his agent does.
Sometimes, you just cut your losses and keep walking.

Whether he does or doesn't pursue legal action is his prerogative. The basis of the decision sounds definitive. There isn't any grey area for people to troll.
Now, hopefully he concentrates on becoming a Pro. That encompasses his on-field and off-field conduct.
Happy for the player and the team.

I'm going to hope that Garret and Ogunjobi take this kid in and kind of push him in the right direction. Maybe fire him up to focus him. Could be quite the trio if they're willing to work hard.

I remember saying something like I have no idea if he is guilty or not, but I really didn't like him as a player. I think he's lazy. He gives up on plays.
He does have good hands w/a good punch and is quick, but he gets pushed around too much; loafs way, way too much; and gets swallowed up at times by guards.
I think he'll struggle to make the team, unless we do what we did last year and just automatically hand rooks a spot. See Payton over Gabriel.
